  1. I just got off Freedom this morning and I felt vibrations in our area of the dining room (5th Floor, Galileo). Our table mates even had their silverware vibrate right off the table before they were seated. You could even see the lights in the chandelier vibrating. Two tables away from ours and those people had no vibrations at all.

  2. I got off Freedom this morning and they did attempt to seat us early on in the cruise when things were busy but that only lasted the first day. Oh, and both times we were given a table, someone else sat down before we could go get food so we brought something to leave at the table so it looked taken. If you want to sit at the bar (not the actual bar at Jade) with bar stools you don't need to wait in line or get a server to find you a spot.

  3. We did Allure, Oasis, then Monarch and Enchantment. Now next week I'll be on Freedom. We started with the biggest and best and now we are working our way back up through the smaller classes. There are always things you notice that are different, doesn't make them better or worse though

  4. I was on the last sailing of the Monarch. For those who had been on the ship many times before it seemed sort of an emotional farewell. My husband and I had never been on the ship before so we didn't really get that aspect of the cruise. They had a party with a giant cake in shape of the ship and handed out champagne. Some of the suite guests got to take home stuff from their room that had RC logos on it. We also got a decent amount of RC swag. Mostly stupid stuff but it felt fun to get little things like bags and pens and calendars. Also, they had HUGE discounts in the stores. I got a ring for $3 that I saw on an earlier cruise for $45.

  5. What about while in port? Can you walk back on the ship with a bottle of soda or water?

    Sent from outerspace

I've had to throw away (or chug) soda/water that was opened because they wouldn't let me take it on from port. Might depend on the day or the people watching but I've tried multiple times :D

  6. I just got off Enchantment Monday morning. I wouldn't rush back for formal dinner unless you are dying to wear something nice and get your picture taken. The menu wasn't THAT nice, the whole thing was turned up a notch a little bit but not like other formal nights on longer cruises

  7. I liked the review, thanks for doing all that and for adding the photos. I do have to say though that your tour with Bernard's wasn't typical, sounds like they had an off day. My husband and I have done that tour twice (once us, once with the kids) and we didn't miss anything. Well, we might have missed the iguana farm the first time or they just added it 5 years later on the second tour.

  8. Allure, Western, Boardwalk Balcony Deck 12--absolutely no movement at all. I saw the curtain in Sorrento's move about an inch one day, other than that not one bit of movement.

Oasis, Easter, Ocean view balcony, forward on portside of Deck 8--lots of movement! I was so bummed, we told the kids they wouldn't feel a thing and then we did. Nobody got sick, but the captain said more than once that we were going full throttle into a big current and thats why it was sorta rocking the ship. It wasn't bad but if you REALLY have a problem then you'd probably need to get outside in the fresh air to avoid feeling the rocking.

I don't know if forward/aft rooms make a difference or higher/lower but I definitely would look at the number of ports and sea days. Ft Lauderdale to Nassau wasn't bad, it was overnight. But Nassau to St Thomas was where we really felt it. Long days at sea mean that they are just plowing their way to the next stop instead of taking their time just getting there overnight--if that makes any sense!

  9. I saw those boys and they were AWFUL!! We took our 11 and 15 yr old kids so I definitely wasn't in an anti-kid mode but holy cow, those boys were obnoxious. They were running on the pool decks and they must have been near our room because more than once we were on the same elevator as them and they pushed EVERY button. Some of the people who were going to get stuck going to each floor got really ticked off. They behaved that way even in front of their parents too!

Luckily, those type of people made up for a very small percentage of the passengers. Most of the time it didn't feel too busy which always surprises me. Definitely don't feel bad about being annoyed by those kids, they were abnormally wild
