  1. Does any one know when NCL will release the 2016 Alaska schedule? My family wants me to start planning a trip and we want to schedule it for 2016 so more family members can afford the trip. Any info would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

  2. Hi,

My DW & I haven't cruised in a few years. This is what we've been quoted by RCL.

    7 day Oasis 1/24---1/31

    Grand Suite

    $3,132 p/p + gratuities

    $1,000 OBC

We truly have no idea if this is a reasonable price. Not necessarily looking for a rock-bottom price, simply looking for some insights from the more seasoned folks on this site. Thanks so much!!

    Be Well,

I booked a GS for my husband and I for next Oct for a total of $3200 after tax and port fees.. total and a $100 OBC that is more than double what I paid

  3. Hi, My name is Jennifer and I just wanted to our recent experience on the Breeze Oct 11th-19th. To give you some insight... My DH and I cruise 2-3 times a year. This year we only did one cruise because we built a new home.

This was our second time on the Breeze we sailed on her the exact same week last year as week did this year, but with the different itinerary. Last year we sailed the exotic eastern, and this year it was the southern caribbean.

We started the morning out driving from Indianapolis to Columbus OH to fly to Ft. Lauderdale....which went very smoothly... I feel in love with Columbus airport... its small and there is no fuss... We arrived in Ft Lauderdale about 11:30 which was perfect. I had arrange for Larry's Car Service to pick us up at the airport which I cant say enough about!!!!! I'll never ever take a shuttle again... Our drivers name was Karl and he was so nice... Although I sometimes had a hard time understanding him.. He had a very thick French accent. We payed the car service $10 extra to let us stop at a CVS and pick up wine, pop, and water to take on board with us which worked perfect... I was going to book pop and water packages to be delivered to the room which was going to be around $100 and decided this would be much better.

We arrived at the port of Miami around 1:00pm, and it was perfect timing. I had purchased Faster to the Fun, and I was so glad I did. The security line went really quickly but the line to check it was really long. I walk in and they told me to make sure to let them know I had faster to the fun. When I went upstairs I was meet with a lady who had a clip board with all the FTTF and VIP guess on it. Once she found our name lead us to the counter to get our room keys.. The whole process from the curb to getting on the ship was maybe 10 mins... I can't say enough about faster to the fun..

After boarding we went straight to our cabin. We were exhausted from traveling and wanted to take a nap....Our room was VERY QUITE... Which was not the case last year... We had a COVE Balcony for both trips. Last year were were in 2373 which is mid ship right across from the laundry room the noise was horrible. We were right under the galley and would hear loud thump and bangs all hours of the night and day. On day 4 after being woke up every night and not being able to go to sleep... I was laying down in the middle of the day and got woke up out of a dead sleep so I decided to call guest services they did take care of us.... No rooms were available for us to move to..so they talk to the galley to see if they could be a little more quite and credits 20% of our cruise back, and gave us 15% off our next cruise.... Which was way more than we ever expected !!!! This year we booked the first Cove balcony from the front of the ship.... I would highly recommend this room. We did not feel much movement and it was extremely quite!!!!

After going to the muster dill we went back to the Cabin and my DH took another nap while I put my stuff away and I sat on the balcony watching the ship sail away... My favorite part of cruising is when the ship is sailing out of the port.. I get so excited...Then we headed to dinner and noticed that we went back to Miami then we realized there was a medical emergency on board which is why we head back to the port. After dinner we went back to the cabin and enjoyed the second sail away.... :) I got a two for one.... Then it was Bed time. The next day was a sea day and we realized when we woke up there had been another emergency on board as we made a pitstop in Nassau in the middle of the night.

Thats all for tonight I will start day 2 tomorrow. I am exhausted!!!!

  4. I think those are great odds. Your original post is a bit over-the-top. This is nothing close to a "nightmare". Am guessing your original flight will go out as planned and not be cancelled. If you feel more comfortable changing your flight, you did what was best for you. You got a good deal, as Southwest was within their rights to charge you the new flight price.

Over the top? Well if you were told that you only had a 20% chance of getting on a plane to go on a cruise... You my friend would be a little up set to!!!!

  5. I guess I know there are a ton of FTTF question... but I couldn't find anything on this....My husband and I was scheduled to fly into Ft Lauderdale early Saturday morning. Our flights have been changed due to the problem in Chicago we are now flighting in about noon. We purchased FTTF thinking it would allow us to get on the ship faster? We will arrive at the ship around 1pm. I know this is peek time.. Will it benefit us at all?

    Thanks Jenn

  6. They're not all cancelled on Southwest. I flew out of Midway Airport in Chicago on Wednesday with no problems.

When I spoke to southwest the flights were not being canceled but they told me about 20% of the flights where actually being about to take off...its on a case by case bases... and I don't like those odds.

  7. Surprised they didnt notify you[/quote

Me to !!!! I woud have came unglued if I would have found out the day before or of... I just happen to randomly check SW. I seen the nightmare of showing up at the air port or getting an email the night before that our flight had been canceled and stuck in Chicago when the boat leaves  NO THANKS!!!!

  8. Today I barely advoided a nightmare!!! My husband and I live in Indianapolis and where flying out of Chicago next Saturday. Today I was looking at southwest website and noticed an advisory that flights where bing canceled up to oct 15th. Southwest never notified us! When I called they said they would refund our money or do flight changes. My husband called and it was $900 more on top of the $800 we already payed! I called back out of fristation and they discounted most of it and I ended up pay 100 for the change, but I can't help to wonder how many ppl have shown up or found out the day before!!! Flights where completely sold out in Indy so we are driving to Columbus OH. I just want to give ppl a heads up to check your flights!!!

  9. I went on the Breeze exactly 1 year minus 1 day ago. I loved her.. but I don't really remember many details... We leave for her in 7 days... I remember loving Guy's but who doesn't ? I was wondering what is some of your favorite things about her....

    Thanks Jenn

  10. I don't find the soda package to be "better". You get the dregs of whatever warm can of soda they have open which they quickly pour over a glass full of ice resulting in flat, crappy soda most of the time.

I prefer to purchase my cans individually (which will include pre-buying some from bon voyage), so I can cool them in the mini fridge or a bucket of ice and pour them so at least some bubbles remain. I can have 3 cans of soda a day for the cost of the package - and I can ensure it's cold, fresh and bubbly.

I find it mildly ironic that the program is named "bottomless bubbles" when you don't end up with many bubbles the way most bartenders pour.

You speak my language lol.... I just bit the bullet and ordered some

  11. My husband and I cruise often, but normally bring pop and water on the ship... This time we are doing a transfer and won't be able to stop some where. When we got enough coke for the both of us in the packages you could have delivered to the room it was really expensive. Does anyone know how much the mini bar prices are and if we should even bother with pre ordering it?

  12. Today I purchused packing cubes for my clothing and rolled them into neat little balls, and I was able to fit all my clothing in about half of one side of my carry on which was an accomplishment!!!! I went though my clothes and chose things I could mix and match for day and night which worked well. I packed 4 pairs of shorts that I can wear with multiple things... This might not be as bad as I though....I just need to find out if the hair dryers on the Breeze is full size... My dryer takes up so much room, but the travel sizes tend to eat my hair. My husband normally ends up cutting my hair out of them.

  13. I am treading in new water... I want to pack for a 8 night cruise in just 1 carry on bag. I am normally the person that has two full size bags and two carry ones, and that is just for my self. I want to travel light this time, and not have to deal with all the stuff. Does anyone have any tips or trick to help.... Ive been youtubing, and found some great tips, but you guys sometimes come up with things most people would never think about.

    Thanks Jenn

  14. I would go with a cove balcony without hesitation. I visited one for the first time on my last cruise and they will be my first choice of rooms. I normally get the aft extended balconies but the coves are my new favorites.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

I agree!!!! My husband and I always sping for the extended aft but, fell in love with the cove balconey on the Breeze last year.

  15. We cruise every Oct... the 16th is our anniversary and we take a yearly honeymoon ;) We have never had a problem with hurricanes. Last year we did the Breeze 8 night eastern and loved it so much we are doing we are doing the southern this year...we like all the ports except Tortola so we made it a ship day!!!!

  16. Careful. Also see the fine print if you are selecting the PAST GUEST rate. Note the following: Cancellation penalties apply. Carnival picks the stateroom, location and deck. Your deposit, outside of final payment is also non refundable. On my 1/31/2015 cruise, port fees have increase $27 and you would pick up that charge. Now this one I cannot explain. Carnival's words. "Offer is applicable on sailings that depart between 10/11/2014 and December 31, 2014." The cruise date I applied to the computer program was January 31, 2015 on the Breeze but it accepted the data anyway. Strange! One other point, the Military rate I currently have is higher than Early Save and Past Guest. Never saw that before.

The rate I got Carnival did not get the pick my cabin... I made sure of that... and it was the same perks I booked with..

  17. Two days in a row I got price reductions. Friday was $55 per person and then Saturday was $50 per person. A quick call to my PVP and literally one minute laater she had reduced our total. We did not get onboard credit. She took the reductions off what we still owe. Doesn't matter how you get the money as long as you do. I don't expect a lot more price cuts on our cabin. The price is pretty low since this is a casino offer too. But its still an early saver. My e-mail confirmation came while I was still on the phone with her.

My husband and I had a bet going that I would not catch another price drop bc our cruise far was so low. Before the price drop our cruise was a little more than $1400 for a 8 night on the Breeze with 15% off carnival gave me my last cruise. After I factor this drop in ill pay around $1200 which I feel is a darn good deal for a Cove Balcony!!! I did my happy dance this morning ;)
