thank you... that is what I thought too.
It definitely is less for the cruise I am looking at now..
That is what I was so confused by.... not much less but less non the less.

Newer to Celebrity. Cruised once many years ago on Celebrity but mostly do Princess or Carnival as they sail from Los Angeles most often.
Pricing a 7 night on Millennium in November 2022.
Should a Concierge Class balcony be less than a regular balcony?
This seems strange to me..I am trying to understand the different price levels and it seems concierge gives you much more than a regular balcony but the pricing now is less
Is this correct?

These are all the people who don't use lanyards :D
Unfortunately I have personal experience with this ..... In Cozumel my sail and sign card somehow came off my lanyard. Where - not a clue. I didn't notice it until we were walking back to the pier to go through security to board the ship. They had a master list there, I showed my drivers license and was let back on board in just a few minutes.... I was panicking the entire time.. Upon boarding I headed straight to Guest Services where I got a new card..... Maybe I got lucky....

My last cruise in June was a graduation for my daughter who turned 18 in April. It was definitely different from past cruises for her. In the past she would be able to meet up with teens her age in the kids club and then they could do things on their own. This cruise she was not comfortable going to the 18 - 21 group as she assumed it was more of a hook up type meeting... She did attend the comedy club several times but usually alone.... She is not looking forward to going for a while - which makes me sad as she is usually my traveling companion......

I have absolutely no opinion but find it interesting to see these positive responses given that a recent thread on this topic, on the board of a supposedly more family-friendly line...
...the responses were leaning heavily towards "a couple paying all that money to celebrate a special occasion should NEVER have to share the table with children"
I do not think that a Junior in high school is considered a 'child' She is probably 16 or 17 and I would bet mature and polite. Just my opinion. I brought my daughter to a Chef's Dinner a couple years ago. She was probably 14 at the time. I don't drink but we did it for the experience. We both loved it and she enjoyed talking to the other diners.
I say do it.. it will be a one time experience for her..

Not Princess's fault, but the Port of San Pedro was not a pleasant experience compared to other ports I've been to. Mainly the long lines, the first 15-20 minutes or so being outside in the open. Thank heavens the weather was good.
What time did you arrive in San Pedro. I was very surprised and impressed at out quick check in time. We arrived about noon. We walked past security and directly to the counters to check in. Then after we had our room cards straight onto the ship. The biggest delay was the scanning of room cards and then the photo the took after you boarded the ship...

Looks like many of us were on the Ruby 3/28 cruise too..
I loved the cruise, the food and ports and weather.
Didn't like the rougher seas on sea days... To much rocking for me.. but I slept it off on Tuesday.
Anytime dining in my opinion was a mess. The first night was insane. Tried to make reservations for dinner a couple nights but they had nothing until 7:30 PM. One night they did sit us with a table of set diners because the people at that table didn't show...
We did the 9:10 trip to Alcatraz and it was great. Wish we were in San Diego a bit longer....

Just got off the Ruby Princess - cruise was 3/28 - 4/4. I was expecting many more kids than we had on the cruise. There were only about 300 on board age 3 - 17. Princess has the signs up in the kids programs of the kids on board... Honestly the kids on this ship were very well behaved in all areas that I saw. I was impressed... I do feel that Princess didn't have enough activities for the kids and the teen program often didn't even open until 1 PM...

we have a pretty active roll call set up for this cruise.. M&G, gift exchange, slot pull, tea time, knitting/crocheting ladies and more.. Come join us

My neighbors dragged the upholstered chairs from their cabin out onto their balcony as the balcony chairs were so uncomfortable.
This may be me starting Saturday... I plan to use my balcony lots during my California Coastal Cruise... I have a B1 on the Caribe booked... I wish there was a lounger but will make due with whatever I am given

You can go to Sea World using public transportation. Walk two blocks to the Sante Fe station and catch the Green Line trolley going north. Get off at Old Town station and take bus No. 9 to Sea World. Should take about 40 minutes each way and if you buy a day pass for $5.00 you'll save a small fortune. Granted, this will work if you have plenty of time. Public transportation in San Diego is not very convenient.
Enjoy our beautiful city.
Thank you... I will check to see how often the #9 runs... We are in port from 7 AM - 6 PM..
-
Any idea how much it would cost??? Thanks
I looked online.. I think it is about 40.00 each way.....

As others have said you should be ok but personally that is cutting it way to close in my opinion. I would not be able to relax my last night on board stressing about making the flight. When we sailed back to Seattle it took a while to get a cab to take us to the airport. There were many passengers waiting too... but we were not the first group off either.
I would take the later flight.... just to be safe..

Sailing on the Princess Ruby... I have tickets to Sea World already... What is the best option to get from the port to Sea World? taxi? shuttle? bus?
-
In June you are already in the peak season. That means it will be less likely to get a good last minute fare.
The other problem is that unless you live in one of the port cities, airfare, bought at the last minute, can be a killer-if there are any seats available as they fill up for peak tourist season.
This... except the cruise part. Last summer, 2014, I had no intention to cruise to Alaska but about 8 days prior to our cruise I received an email from Princess with a rate to good to pass up for a Northbound 7 night cruise... Vancouver to Anchorage. We jumped on it and the air round trips was more than the cruise itself.. Over all though it was still am amazing price.. I think I paid about 500.00 pp for the room and the air from LAX was about 575.00 per person.
Just checked my records.. booked on June 10th, cruise left on June 18th

Yes you can send free electronic postcards, not free email. Its a little hard to find on the screen but if you ask the person in the computer cafe they will help you
sent from my Samsung Tablet
I used this option on my last cruise.... It worked great to keep in touch with my husband who did not sail with us. Sent him a postcard each day to keep in touch. Not a ton of characters but it gets the job done.

What ship?
so sorry... Ruby

We had booked an oceanview obstructed and picked our room e504.
Just received an 'upgrade' notice today and were upgraded to an unobstructed oceanview but e710 - more aft than I have ever been. Looks like a minor upgrade. Above us in the new room is more rooms but below us is Club Fusion. Will we hear load music from the club? And having never been on in the aft of a ship not sure about motion. We are doing the 7 night coastal from Los Angeles on March 28th.

Will be traveling on the Ruby in March. I have never sailed out of San Pedro only Long Beach. What are the options for parking? Is it covered? Is there an offsite location to park for less with a shuttle to the ship?

:)
We were on the Ruby summer 2014 and while on board I checked as many cabins as possible. So far the pictures on the website are correct.Theo

:) How do you get the photos? Do you visit the rooms on the last day and take the photos?
I have used your site several times when booking myself - or seeing what is available.. Love it and I have passed your site onto my parents too..

You can see the view from this cabin on my website. Click on the link below.

Just booked the Ruby for the California Coastal cruise departing the end of March. Looking forward to this cruise as we don't have to fly to port.

We sailed from Vancouver to Whittier. Boarding in Vancouver was horrible. It took forever and we had to wait in numerous long lines - go through customs multiple times - US AND Canadian. Debarking however in Whittier was amazingly quick.
We too loved the smaller ship - it was our first Princess cruise after having been on 17+ other cruises.

For future reference you can ask them to mark you as 'do NOT upgrade' and this won't happen to you. I can't sail far forward or on an upper deck. I pick my cabin and don't want to be move.
