  1. i just looked at the ship tracker...it shows the carnival dream off the coast of Chile! I must have done something wrong...or will this cruise be better than I thought!

I don't think you did anything wrong.. I looked too and that is where I see her as well

  2. Thanks for the pics and info! We are going to be in the same cabin (2326) in less than two weeks and I was worried about noise from the galley. It was also nice to be able to show the family pictures of our EXACT cabin...neat!

That is to funny. I wonder if you will have the same room steward. Ours was Ricardo, though we rarely saw him. The room was always cleaned with fresh ice 2x each day and fun towel animals... Let me know if you have any other questions.. I do have a few other photos of the room, including the bathroom, if you would like to see them.. We LOVED our cruise.

  3.

I understand for the MDR it's a little more formaI'm sure this has been covered a million times, but I wanna clarify...

l and probably will end up there on the formal nights only, but just wanted to be sure. I plan on wearing tube tops/halter tops/skirts or tank tops/skirts all day and don't want to change just to go to eat!

The MDR is a bit more formal than the buffet line but on non-formal nights don't feel like you really have to dress up. I used to dress for dinner every night on a 7 night cruise. Now I bring one or two pieces I can exchange out and wear them a few times. No one knows the difference and I really enjoy the dining room food and being waited on, called by name, and the must more delisious food in the MDR.

  4. We're in a Cove Balcony (2393) does anyone know anything about the Cove Balconies?

LOVED our cove balcony from a few weeks ago. It was a great location and so close to the water. We slept with the door slightly opened every night so we could hear the sound of the ocean. Never had any problem with our room - we were in 2326. Didn't hear any noises from above. The only noise we did hear was our next door neighbors shutting their door loudly or not holding it so it shut gently. Other than that the location was great. We had 4 in the cabin too, me, DH and kids ages 13 & 15. Lots of space for our clothes etc. Here are a few photos.. hope they post OK ...

I also have a ton of photos of the ship, ports etc and will try to post in the next day or two.. I have all the Fun Times too but don't think I have access to a scanner...

  5. We're in 2393. :D I think it's under the Galley inbetween the 2 Dining Rooms. I figure that it'll be ok since late seating is over by 10:30 at the latest so it should be quiet after that. What do you think? Do you all think I have anything to worry about?

I can't wait to be so close to the water especially when the ship is at sea!!!!

What hammocks? Sounds great!!!! :D :D

But they took this one down after the first day. Never saw it again and replaced it with chairs.. We didn't even have rough sea days in my opinion.

  6. Do you have to sign up for the cooking demo in the steakhouse that is on the first sea day or is it standing room only? Does it cost money?

    Thanks,

    Maggie

Just did this two weeks ago on the Dream. Just show up about 15 - 20 minutes early and you should be fine. I love doing this. We get great recipies and get to sample lots of great items.

  7. We plan on renting a car to get back to the airport after our cruise on Freedom. We have never traveled out of Port Canaveral before. Is it easy to find the rental car shuttles after exiting the luggage pick up area? Is there a long wait for a shuttle on departure days? I'm pretty confident we will be renting with Avis. Thanks!

Just did this.. We used Avis as well. They were great. Getting off the ship in Port Canaveral from the Dream was so easy, luggage retrieval was easy too. We headed outside of the building and the Avis (as are all) pick up area was to your far right side as you exit the building. We had to wait about 20 minutes for the shuttle to arrive. Once there we were loaded quickly, shuttled to Avis and the pickup went very quick for the car. Loved Avis and would rent from them again...

  8. Read on our roll call for the Dream leaving on July 9th that the space shuttle is taking off on the 8th. It was reported that there might be a ton of traffic in Port Canaveral on July 8th and if so to be prepared...

For those of you living locally do you know what this could mean for us tourists coming in Friday early evening.. Our flight gets to MCO about 4:30 and after gathering our luggage, picking up a rental car I anticiapte we should be arriving somewhere between 6 - 7 PM.....

Help? or will it all be gone by then?

  9. Don't know, Sonnys is a chain and has been here for years. If you have a car about a mile South is Slow and Low Barbecue. I think its even better.

This coming from a local sounds like it is a plan for my family in July. My hubby loves bbq and this might just be the place for dinner on our precruise night....

  10. smartphone and phone charger (internet capable) with copies of important documents stored on memory card (I know....DON'T lose the phone!)

    power strip

    nightlight

    travel clock

    pop-up hamper

    over-door shoe holder

    wine opener

    extra contacts/ glasses

antibiotic and anti-viral meds (again, I know....very controversial)

    bandaids

My list is similar to this one. We do the powerstrip, pop up hamper, travel clock over the door shoe rack, highlighters, bungee cord, extra small blanket to sit on the balcony with, magnets to attach notes to each other on the walls (are Celebrity's walls magnetic?), decorations for the door to help us celebrate our trip/know what room is ours, lots of one dollar bills to tip room service, flavored creamer because I can't stand coffee without it, Strabucks instant coffee, a plastic carrying water bottle or something so we can bring on shore for excursions, and then books, magazines etc

  11. We are sailing on July 19th to Mexico.. This is a first for me and the kids (no DH on this trip so I will have to skip 1/2 of the suggestions on this board! ) :D But I have the other ideas memorized and plan to use many of them.... I do hope there is not any smokers near me.. I guess I didn't realize people could smoke on their balconies. It is there option but I also have paid big bucks for my space. I guess I will have to see what happens.

I am looking forward to ordering breakfast in the AM especially an eating on the balcony and when the kids are off in the kids clubs having fun I can read a book in peace and quiet...
