  1. Agreed! Its almost impossible to get through to Princess - even to make a booking.  I was waiting in the UK (to make a booking, not just to answer a question), after over 90 minutes waiting the phone rang, and then someone put the phone down! In the end I booked through a third party.

Even trying to call in an evening, the response is no quicker and I have never waited less than 90 minutes. Terrible customer service!

  2. Thanks runner2013. For a wedding on a cruise there will no doubt be a lot of paperwork, and things to organise. My bil is having a renewal of vows, after twenty years of marriage, nothing so elaborate as you will have. We would just like to know how the ceremony works for the vow renewal, what is said etc.

Hope your wedding all goes well, it should be lovely.

  3. My brother-in-law wants to surprise his wife with a wedding vow renewal ceremony to mark their twenty years anniversary. Please can anyone tell us what the ceremony is usually like?

We are booked for an Enchanted Princess cruise, and have chosen a sea day for the ceremony. It looks like their is a wedding chapel in Enchanted Princess, and he has chosen the "Renewal of Vows Package". Can we ask...

*Does the captain usually perform the ceremony?

*Does the captain have you repeat the wedding vows that you would usually say at an actual wedding? If so, do you then say your personal vows to each other afterwards?

*Can you play music at the wedding?

*Does anyone know if there is a piano in the Enchanted Princess wedding chapel?

Thank you for any insight you can give, as we want to make this a very special day for my sister-in-law.

We booked all three tours in advance, payment could be made once you met them at the port. I have just looked back and these are their contact details :-

I think we paid $60 for the first tour, then $75 for the second and $40 for the third, but of course these prices may well not be the same now.

  5. We visited Antisirana (Diego Suarez) as well as Nosy Be and Toamasina last year from a cruise. Madagascar is a very poor country, but wonderfully rich culturally and in its flora and fauna - we very much enjoyed our three stops there. For all three stops we used a company called Madagascar Excursions MAD'EX (voyagemada.com) who were really good and made sure we were well taken care of throughout. This company is very much used by French speaking passengers, but we had a wonderful guide with very good English.

For Diego Suarez we went to the Red Tsingy and Ramena for lunch and the beach, and enjoyed our day very much. At the end and start of each day the company owner was there to make sure everyone got to their excursion as booked and had enjoyed their day.

From Nosy Be we visited Lokobe, Nosy Tanikely and Nosy Komba. we saw lots of wildlife at close quarters and at Nosy Tanikely the snorkeling was very nice, we even had a short time with a turtle there (this was very unexpected as we had no thought that the snorkeling would be that good!).

Hope thats useful.  We found this a very interesting place,  know that toilets can be basic, so be prepared, and take care with any food eaten there, but a wonderful place to visit.

  6. Hi

If its the Costa Victoria cruise from Venice on October 12th, then there is a small roll call group here

if you would like to join? Others there may be considering the same as you for a stay in the Maldives.

  7. I have already posted this, and then realised it was the 2016 site!

Thank you to Danish Viking for all his very useful posts and replies. We are sat in Oceankaj, Copenhagen and have just checked in to start our Baltic cruise on Regal Princess. We used all of the instructions to get a bus from our hotel, changing in Norreport to bus 25. All went smoothly for us but three american ladies got on afterwards, two sat across from me, their third friend who got on last sat behind, and suddenly shouted "my purse is gone". The long and short of it is that she was a very small lady with a big case, someone had helped her put her bag on the bus, and as she knew she had her purse from the point she got on the bus it was it seems taken then.

I helped her to speak to the bus driver, to check if there is CCTV on board, there is at the door, but the driver said the police never follow up on that, and that the same thing, of people getting things stolen as they get on the bus, in his words "it happens thousands of times a day".

We all know we need to be careful with our things, but I am just writing this as Copenhagen is probably considered a relatively safe European city. We need to be careful as there are problems in all cities!

The bus was great, but be careful as always when getting onto a busy bus when you have a lot of things to watch out for!

  9. We are on the Princess Sapphire cruise at present, stopping in Laem Chabang the day after tomorrow. A shuttle ticket order form for the shuttle to Pattaya was handed out today, cost $8.
