Looks fantastic! I am going to see BEAUTIFUL but omg...…...maybe I should have booked this instead. I love both so I am happy with my choice but oh, I love The Temptations too!
Lois, you will love Beautiful & I still love Tapestry. 😉

Hi, well, I don't want to dine around a LOUD atmosphere either and I don't dine as a couple either (since I go solo LOL).
From what I have been reading, many of the restaurants have bars that serve dinner. That is more my style even when I eat out here at home.
Hi Lois.
Rue 57 (57th & 6th) has a very friendly, laid back bar with good food.

I see this thread goes back to the fall...….I am still trying to decide where to eat dinner in the city before I go see BEAUTIFUL.
I know Restaurant Row is right near the theater district...….I posted on another thread too but this Italian theme is sounding delicious.. One of my roll call mates recommended Lattanzi's. Any of you know it? I will be in NYC in April the show is at the Sondheim Theater on 43rd.
Oh Lois, I forgot about Hourglass Tavern on 46th. We stumbled upon it once to get out of the rain. Not Italian, but another nice little mom & pop place with good food, good reviews in an old brownstone. Check it out. 😉

Allison Janney, very nice! My "movie star" at Gramercy Tavern was Blythe Danner. We did a pre Kinky Boots quick bite at Joe Allen at a table. It was a bad food & service night and it smelled musty. Hey, just like every other restaurant, we could go there tonight & enjoy every moment.

I agree that Patsy's is just ok, but imo definitely better than Joe Allen, which we did not like. 😉

Wow, an old one. Basso 56 absolutely. Homemade everything.

Midtown West near W. 56th St & 7th Ave is a great location. The Park Central hotel is nice and quite popular. You are 4 blocks from Central Park, across the street from Carnegie Hall, a few blocks from the Time Warner Center (shops, Whole Foods and restaurants), The Plaza, Lincoln Center, etc. There are many wonderful restaurants in the area. Enjoy your stay!

Hey girl! Long time no CC . I am here rarely now.
Two of my fav places, upscale but not pretentious and fabulous food, are Minetta Tavern and Gramercy Tavern. Minetta is quirky and a NY staple. Gramercy is just wonderful. I chatted with a "movie star" at the bar my last time there. Gramercy requires a res no longer than 30 days ahead. Hope you enjoy wherever you go.
Oh, Gramercy Tavern is also owned by Danny Meyer.

- Baltimore Penn Station (not BWI) is almost a straight 5-mile shot to the cruise terminal. You will drive through the Inner Harbor area. You can taxi, Uber or Lyft from any hotel in the Inner Harbor or Harbor East to the cruise port, which should take 10-15 minutes. There is a Holiday Inn Express with a shuttle to Cruise Maryland and The Admiral Fell Inn may still provide a shuttle, not sure.

7 days from NY in 2020 - NCL Encore

Don't recall seeing that, but will check at a later date. Thanks

Attempting to research Norwegian Bliss. Clicked Norwegian Cruise Lines, then Norwegian Bliss and the page was filled with every NCL ship's roll calls no Bliss info.
-
The 2018 Amtrak is NOT the 2009 Amtrak. We use the Northeast Regional to NY Penn Station and there's usually at least a minor delay somewhere between Baltimore and Manhattan.
-
OK. I forgot about Escape. Have not sailed NCL & interested in Bliss since I like new ships and have read how smoking is much more contained on Bliss.
Also, I probably should have worded my question differently and not asked why.

Why is there no Bermuda itinerary on Bliss from NY?

Simple for me...Grandeur built in 1995, Anthem built in 2013. No contest and I live very close to the Baltimore port. Sailed on Grandeur once.

If you mean Mama's on the Half Shell, it's great.
If you mean Nacho Mama's, it's great. ;);););)

You could walk up to the Kimpton Hotel Monaco-I really enjoyed the B&O Brasserie there.
I second the B&O Brasserie, Meg. ;):)
What broadway play?

So far, my absolute favorite show was "It's Only a Play" with Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick, Stockard Channing, etc, etc. The audience roared with laughter from start to finish. 🤣
My absolute least favorite was "Bright Star" written by Steve Martin. We left at intermission.
Back in the day "A Chorus Line" won me over. Saw it twice locally and twice on Broadway. 😉
