  1. honey mustard for me!

now i have to google green goddess to see what's in it.

edit: you lost me at anchovy. yuck.

then again, i'll try almost anything once. a cruise is the perfect place to try a smidge.

  2. I just called Princess for a Loyalty credit on my next cruise. They do not have a Loyalty OBC and never had.

you will get the loyalty credit after you have completed your 20th cruise credit. if you are elite on your next cruise, that means you have 15 now. your next cruise will be your 16th and you will get all of your elite benefits. after that, so 5 cruises from now, when you finish your 20th, you will qualify for the loyalty benefit on your 21st cruise credit. it comes from the captain's circle so i'm not surprised most of the phone reps know nothing about it.

  3. my kids (28-32) have stressful jobs. they love princess for down time. for being taken care of; for recharging.

when they want a more active cruise, they choose royal caribbean.

none of them are partiers and because their children are up early, the adults go to bed early.

the kids clubs on both are very good.

thank you for your review. just know that depending on who is in charge at any given time, the experience can be very different (from ship to ship and also on the same ship).

i hope your daughter's arm is okay. i also think it strange it wasn't x-rayed. our medical care over the years has been stellar. i also think the doctors look like teenagers!

  4. for me--coral all the way.

better viewing areas, promenade deck that goes all the way around the ship, easier on/ off in ports, covered pool.

as for your cabin, i personally prefer cabins more forward than aft. mid ship is where you want to be to minimize motion. most caribe deck cabins (that's where the 'c' before the cabin number comes in) have larger balconies that are half covered and half uncovered- quite perfect for alaska. your cabin has cabins above and below it so it is quieter.

here's a site that will give you the information on the balconies: http://www.cruisedeckplans.com/Princess/odell/res76zxu/princessbalconies/index.html

(note, the island princess is different since aft cabins were added).

have fun on your first cruise! that's exciting!

  5. it could be as you said because of your UK history. i've scoured my personalizer and nothing like that shows up for me.

it takes effect Aug 1, i wonder if it shows up only if you are entering the information after Aug 1? though that seems silly, i'd think it would be an everyone or no one thing.

it is interesting that its called a captain's 'club'. hmmm.... griller, you're 'special'!

  6. If she really has to use cash, gift herself before the cruise with OBC for the minimum amount needed onboard - gratuities. This assumes that the conversion rate when you bought the cruise is lower than at present, since Princess should use the original rate.

    this is smart advice!

princess' rate is less than the bank's at the moment. if there is any left over, it will be refunded in a US dollar cheque. your bank will convert back to $CAD.

i usually bring US cash to put on my account but with princess giving me a better deal than the bank, that's the route i'm taking lately.

  7. If it is 2 voyages you will receive 2 Captain's Circle credits. It does not matter if booked under one booking number or two booking numbers. Check with the Captain's Circle rep. on board and it will be corrected if it is incorrect.

i guess i will have to do this as it shows as one voyage in my captain's circle at the moment. i appreciate the help!

  8. You will get one cruise credit. You should get two internet sets' date=' 2 mini bar setups. Your OBC will likely be based on the longer cruise. When I was booking one of these, I did a spread sheet looking at all the differences and determined that it came within $50 of being the same when I looked at cruiser fare plus all the "extras."[/quote']

    thank you!

  9. well, blah. i'm not a fan of the royal class so i doubt i'll like an even bigger ship.

for me it is the number of passengers which translates to line ups, limited theatre seating, slow embarking and disembarking in ports, tendering...

i agree with caribill about the limited ports it can access. i don't like docking an hour away.

i am one of the post baby boomers bobby3334 spoke about and these new ships are not what i'm looking for.

  10. sorry to hijack but i have a related question: i have a cruise booked. it is also sold as 2 segments. i have one booking number and in my captain circle account it shows as one future cruise.

with only one showing for me everywhere, are you saying i will get two internet, minibar setups, obc etc?
