  1. I've never booked a spa interior but couldn't pass the premier cruise offer out of NYC with a spa room. I've heard folks say that the interior spa rooms on the Sunshine are very small. However, this particular room looks completely isolated from any other room on the deck plan and looks like it may be normal sized or perhaps even a little larger.

If anyone has stayed in this room, I would love to hear how you liked/disliked it and if it was too small.

Also, I know we get the spa perks included with the room but are the fitness classes that are fee based also included with a spa room?

Finally, is there a special entrance to the spa or serenity deck that is reserved for spa room guests?

  2. The cove balcony is my favorite room no matter the price difference between it and a higher category room. I think for the price, it cannot be beat! Just being outside in the morning and/or at night and being so close to the water is amazing.

  3. Thanks everyone. I assume Dream will lose the Tandoor buffet when it gets upgrades but there is not much I can do about it. At least you can order the MDR vegetarian and request other dishes if you ask ahead.

Why would it lose the Tandoor? Breeze and Magic are the same class with the upgrades and they both have it.

  4. Statement from Carnival:

Earlier today, a 33-year-old female guest on the cruise ship Carnival Liberty was reported missing by traveling companions. A ship-wide search was conducted along with a review of the ship’s camera footage. Unfortunately, it appears the guest may have gone overboard early this morning. Authorities were notified including the U.S. Coast Guard which is initiating a search effort in the area where the ship was located when the individual was last seen.

Carnival’s CareTeam is providing support to the guest’s traveling companions and family. We are keeping our guest and her loved ones in our thoughts during this difficult time.

Ah, for some reason the rest of my post was cut off...we have two rooms booked, an inside for my teens and a cove balcony for my wife and I. We gave up the kids inside right across the hall from our cove because we found a $200 cheaper fare (yay OBC!!!) by switching to a guarantee. The room they gave us ended up being just down the hall from our cove anyway so we are very happy that the gamble paid off!

  6. Carnival needs a sign in the buffet area, "Take what you like, but eat what you take" I find it disgusting the large plates of food left on the tables that could feed a small country.

Oh, a sign won't fix that problem. Much like a sign in any other buffet anywhere doesn't deter those who have no sense and insist on "getting their money's worth" in food. But I'm right there with you, it's sickening and wasteful.

  7. We used bz a couple of years ago and I won't use them again. One of the only bad reviews I've ever written on Trip Advisor...review is below.

Was really excited based on reviews. Departed ship and met team outside terminal 2. They were easy to find. They found us on the list but since we were the first couple to arrive we waited for about half an hour to depart. We drove extremely slow and another van eventually caught up to us, both vehicles stopped and they transferred one additional person to our van. After about an hour we arrived at the office to pay. No problems yet. There were eight of us in the van and only my wife and I were NOT doing the zip line; just the tubing. Our driver proceeded to the zip line area to drop those folks off. He told them they could leave their bags in the van because he'd be right back after he dropped off. We headed a few minutes up the road to the tubing area. The driver told us to leave our bags in the van, that no one would mess with our bags, and that we'd meet up with the folks we drove out with later. So we got off and walked to the river. We met up with a completely different group of 12, with a completely different guide. The tubing itself was great, although it was completely rushed due to half of the group having to get back for an earlier ship departure. After we got done tubing no one knew what to go with us. The group we tubed with all got in the van and we were left standing in the parking lot. No idea where the original driver was. We asked the workers and were able to get a key to the van out stuff was in. Upon opening the van we looked in the back for our bags. Much to our surprise there were several other bags occupying the space where our bags were left. After frantically searching the rest of the van we found our bags stuffed in the floor of the front seat. After a 45 minute wait our original driver showed up with the folks we drove with, along with several others. Long story a little shorter, we were made to collect our bags and cram into another van with a completely new group of people. Although several of the employees agreed that this was poor customer service and that they would notify the management, we never received so much as a sorry from anyone. If we find ourselves here again, I would definitely hire another company. Of note, the Butts Up company has much larger, much nicer coach style busses. We thought it was odd, but our guide bashed on that company every chance he could. Very unprofessional.

Definitely do the river tubing if you go to Belize. But based on my personal experience, I can't recommend this company.

  8. I used it on the Breeze on two different sailings and my family loved it. It was a great way to stay in touch (chat) with our teenagers and we loved having the fun times right on our phones. Can't wait until it is fleet-wide.

  9. Just read somewhere that our cruise is now a premier casino cruise.

Would this have any affect on the non-gambling cruisers except for perhaps the casino being crowded and more smoke?

    Thanks

The casino will be much more crowded, but if anything, that will free up some space on the rest of the ship compared to a non-premier sailing. You will be fine, especially if you avoid the casino.

  10. I'm going on the Dream for the first time in June. I've been on the Magic, Breeze, Conquest, Triumph and Fascination and really enjoyed each of those ships. However, I've seen so many complaints about the Dream, that I'm starting to get a bit worried. Hopefully the Magic and Breeze haven't spoiled me [emoji4]

  11. This isn't the Titanic! Carnival didn't treat you any differently because you were on the bottom of the ship!

These complaints are ridiculous and it seems as though the credit card problem is your fault, not Carnival's.

Lol, next he will be telling everyone how Carnival made him row! I'm surprised he was even allowed to eat in the dining room with the more privileged guests from deck 3 and higher.

  12. 1. Sounds like you got pissed because of your embarking experience and everything else sucked for you because you already had your mind made up that it would based on that negative experience. A cognitive bias, if you will.

    2. If your checking account was wiped clean by Carnival in a week and you have no other means to even get out of the parking lot, you may want to take a look at priorities. Perhaps you were cutting it a little too close?

Maybe if you contact John Heald and tell him how bad Carnival sucks, he will hook you up with some strawberries or something.

    Good luck with everything!
