  1. You should book Alaska for itinerary.

Holland, Princess, Carnival, Norwegian and Crystal are the only cruiselines to have permits to go to Glacier Bay. If Glacier Bay is on your "must see", you should be able to find a comfortable price point in your budget among these five cruiselines.

I am headed to Alaska this summer on Princess.

    Have fun planning!

    Thanks!

  2. In October on Brilliance, I was able to utilize HDMI, no universal remote necessary. Also not in a suite. It would simply come up on a blank channel 3.

Also, last March on Navigator, I SWEAR it also had a (somewhat different) setup that specifically mentioned HDMI. However, I had nothing to test with.

  3. The windjammer is fantastic for dinner. They once screwed up our table in the MDR and we ate in the windjammer every night. The atmosphere is so much different than at breakfast or lunch.

Our last cruise, went with Grandparents who couldn't take the long MDR meals. Pleasantly surprised at how good Windjammer was for dinner. Like others have said, nicer experience than breakfast/lunch.

  4. I have posted this before, but I know that HDMI worked on one of my cruises and I am fairly sure it would have worked on another. No remote required. Balcony room.

This past March, I was on Navigator. Didn't bring any device to use, but I believe it was set up to use HDMI. This past October, on Brilliance, I took my Playstation and it worked beautifully. Just turn to channel 3, where nothing was on, and it worked.

  5. I had success in the past using a universal remote on a different ship. It was a samsung tv. I took a harmony remote, noted the model number, and programmed it before the ship left the port.

Since that time, I have been on the Navigator after it's drydock, and I SWEAR it had an option for using your own HDMI device built in to the tv software. But of course, I didn't take anything to check that time.

  6. On our last cruise on the recently dry docked Navigator, they had a new interactive tv system. One of the channels seemed to be for your own HDMI device (it literally said something to that effect). Unfortunately, not see expecting this, I had nothing to test. Curious if anyone else saw this/had any experience? I am not a frequent cruiser so forgive any confusion.

  7. This actually may be outdated information. In the past it was true, but on my most recent trip a couple weeks ago, there was a channel that indicated it was specifically for plugging in your own HDMI device. Naturally, as I was not expecting this, I didn't bring anything to test it. This was a part of the new interactive TV system I have not seen before. Granted, I am NOT that frequent of a cruiser
