  1. Thanks for these kind words. I'm pleased and amazed to hear that others enjoy my videos. I started the channel as a personal project to keep my memories alive until we can cruise again, - hopefully next year. I felt that this was the best way to share them so that people can choose to watch them directly from the channel instead of viewing individual videos from this forum.
  2. Yes but as you say, it's doubtful that they'll ever need to sail into or out of Venice again.
  3. Hi Lois This thread has lots of discussion and opinions but no-one knows yet. We await announcements from Silversea https://boards.cruisecritic.co.uk/topic/2790315-italy-bans-cruise-ships-from-venice/
  4. Hi Lois Anything over 25000 tonnes is now banned. Silversea have several planned cruises to or from Venice. The next one is September 8th 2021 on Silver Shadow which is 28000 tonnes, but no alternative arrangements are yet announced. Silver Moon, Dawn and Spirit are all around 40000 tonnes. We were hoping to try Silver Moon or Silver Dawn next year from Venice, but it remains to be seen what will happen. This article explains the problems - https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/13/world/europe/venice-italy-cruise-ship-ban.html
  5. There are doubts about cruise ships being allowed into Venice from today, August 1st. However we've previously experienced transferring either by land or boat to Marco Polo airport You can transfer to the airport from San Basilio cruise terminal by private boat transfer which takes 30-40 minutes. Or you can choose a land taxi transfer which is a similar time but cheaper price. Both were arranged by our travel agent. However the water taxi was more exciting, but you don't get much help in loading luggage into the boat. It remains to be seen whether any futur
  6. Hi Brimary, Thanks for these kind words which I really appreciate. I'm continuing to post my videos on a regular basis on my YouTube Channel, Cruise Video Memories - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbYW-Y1IjRSD9MECilTBG5A I understand that some people are not concerned about adverts, but I know from experience that other people are. So I give people the choice who want to view the videos that they can do so by going directly to my channel and choosing which ones they prefer to view. I'll post when I've added new videos for Silversea cruises, but
  7. Thanks for these encouraging words. Greatly appreciated.
  8. Hi Lois We're sure you'll love Silver Muse, as we did. We loved reading about your Silver Moon experience and hope that Silver Muse will measure up to it, as we're sure it will. We've never experienced Alaska like you have, or Silver Moon, but we look forward to hearing your reports soon. Hopefully we'll get to enjoy Silver Moon or Silver Dawn next year as we're not quite as adventurous as you are at present. Have a great time, and thanks for all your previous appreciate comments.
  9. I've previously posted a number of videos from my personal Youtube channel, Cruise Video Memories. However from mid July 2021 Youtube have changed their policy and will be putting adverts on all videos which they believe are suitable. YouTube’s terms of service “Right to Monetize.” “Starting today we’ll begin slowly rolling out ads on a limited number of videos from channels not in YouTube Partner Program. This means as a creator that’s not in YPP, you may see ads on some of your videos. Since you’re not currently in YPP, you won’t receive a share of the rev
  10. Just discovered this article. We were hoping to sail on Silver Dawn next year from Venice. https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/exclusive-italy-legislate-keep-liners-out-venice-lagoon-sources-2021-07-13/?fbclid=IwAR36yROVHcf99N35uTrUOhLRFpLKDypnNT7xKz-cMkOTJZbLCItgbangpuA
  11. No I am not monetized by You Tube. The channel is for my own personal videos.
  12. Our first Seabourn cruise was on Seabourn Sojourn in 2013 from Athens to Monte Carlo, and we had one of our most magical evenings on an included tour to Ephesus to enjoy an amazing classical concert. It was a wonderful introduction to Seabourn and it's one of our most special cruise memories.
  13. This was one of the best arrivals in port that we have ever experienced as we sailed into Palma, Majorca for a lunchtime arrival. The ship's orchestra and band combined with a fantastic concert of Glenn Miller era music in perfect weather. Certainly a day of outstanding memories!
  14. We totally agree that prices have tumbled. After our early P&O cruises we tried Royal Caribbean Cruise Line where they offered free flights to Miami on a brand new ship , Sovereign of the Seas with private facilities. It seemed bizarre at the time that it was cheaper than a cruise from Southampton, but they were just trying to break into the British market then. So we ended up with free BA flights to Miami, pre-cruise hotel and transfers and post cruise day-room for less than P&O prices for a very basic cabin.
  15. Hi Lois Thanks for all your positive comments about this cruise. I have lots more videos on my YouTube channel from various years and cruise lines. I started this project during the lockdown absence from cruising so that I can relive my cruise memories easily without searching out DVDs. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbYW-Y1IjRSD9MECilTBG5A My current project is a 2014 Seabourn Sojourn cruise from Athens to Monte Carlo, with a classical concert in Ephesus and also a 2013 Cunard Queen Victoria Princess Grill Baltic cruise including St. Petersbur
