Can anybody tell me if the TC flights to Barbados from Gatwick are in their new improved aircraft, or the old ones?
Have been lucky last two years to get the Thomson's Dreamliner, but alas not this time.
Thanks,

Thanks all,
I was more worried about getting back into the US after Bermuda, than anything else (I hadn't even considered what I needed for Bermuda).
Thanks again

Hi,
I am visiting the USA for 3 weeks from the UK. I have an approved ESTA so don't need a Visa.
However, during the middle of my stay, I will be travelling on the Breakaway to Bermuda and back.
Am I right in thinking that my ESTA covers me for this?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for all the replies and comments. I will check this out with my TA, but I did book this about 10 months ago, and paid the balance a few weeks ago, so not holding out much hope.
Cheers

Once you sign the young adult waiver, your son can buy his own beer and wine. Or at least use his card to charge it to his own account. It sounds like you may be the one paying for it all in the end, though… :p
Ain't that the truth........:)
But at least I have a good excuse whilst in NYC and WDC either side of the cruise. "Sorry son, I would love to buy you a beer, but your too young!"

And don't forget, you get three bottles of alcohol with the Owners Suite. The last time we sailed in the OS, we didn't bother with the UBP because we had enough alcohol for our 7-day cruise.
Now that I didn't know......
Looks like the soda card will do us then, I'll just buy my beer (and son's) as I go.

Hi,
My wife and I are going on the breakaway this August, and have a Haven Owners Suite.
I was looking at the drinks package, as my TA suggested we paid for this in advance here in the UK, but couldn't work out if it was worth while, especially as I have no idea of the cost of drinks onboard. I also believe that we get some drinks incorporated with the suite? I also believe that the advance drinks package bought here in the UK also includes gratuities.
Could somebody let me know the cost of a beer (i.e. Bottle Sam Adams) onboard, and let's say a 'G&T'
Another silly question, I would also have to buy a package for our son (20 yo), but this will only be the soft drinks. However, once in international waters he can have a beer, so how do I go about this?
Many thanks,
Bruce

Has anybody else heard about the new Pre - Maiden Cruise, as the ship appears to be ready early?
Not sure if this will be for fare paying passengers, or just for P&O Staff, TAs etc. to test her out?
Apparently this will be before the official naming ceremony by the Queen on the 10th March? The official maiden cruise is on the 14th March.

Thanks all,
With a 4.00pm sail away, I think we will go for the earlier train......

Hi,
We are looking to go on the Breakaway next August, having spent 3 days in Boston.
The 8.40 Amtrak from Boston gets to Penn Station at 12.42pm, will this give me enough time to reach the cruise terminal or should we get the 6.40?
Many thanks...

Thanks in advance.....

Well I for one is looking forward to seeing lots of Happy People on Ventura in 20 days time on the First Fly Cruise of the season ! - we will have "Loads of Money" to have fun with ! especially us with our £340 !! yehhh
See you onboard Sue........It's strange but this was the only cruise, where I didn't qualify for the extra OBC. But still looking forward to it :)
Are you flying from LGW?
-
In a word....No
You may manage to change to freedom, but that would have to be on a full time basis.
It's one or the other I'm afraid.

I would suggest sending it to David Dingle 'MD Carnival UK'. This is what I did, I got an almost immediate reply, stating that my concerns were to be passed on, which they duly were.
david.dingle@carnivalukgroup.com
I would also suggest that you take a few minutes to compile a well written, constructive complaint, rather than a 'This ain't fair' type, as IMO these are always taken more seriously.
Hope this helps,

Not that it would ever happen to me, but if it did......
I would go to reception and increase my tips :)

Sorry for the delay in replying, but on returning a week ago, I emailed P&O with all the details of our upcoming cruises all booked ages ago under their 'vantage' price promise, this was for a total of 5 bookings over 3 cruises (I booked 2 cabins on 2 of the cruises).
Got a reply within 2 days, itemising each booking number, with the original cost, compared to the new cost (adjusted for new OBC), and where there was a net gain, OBC was issued accordingly to 3 out of the 5.
Result, a gain of over £1,000 in OBC, just for asking....
Although very happy with the result, it does seem a bit hit and miss when reading other replies, as my original queries were all met with a 'NO' as well.
Conclusion - If you have 10 minutes to spare, a well constructed email to P&O, may just work?

Whilst I appreciate that P&O are here to make a profit (I have their shares), and that prices can go up or down, and I do not have a problem with this.
In the past I have seen the price of my cruises being dramatically reduced within a few weeks to sailing, and have also seen others where the price has only gone up. I have also availed myself of the odd 'Offer' here and there.
My problem with this issue, is that when the then 'Vantage' fares were sold and promoted as such, that should the price then be reduced under the same T&C's then I would also get the benefit. I also believe that P&O also stated that the new 'Select' fare would be classed as the equivalent as 'Vantage' for those already booked.
All I can see here is that the same T&C's are in place, but instead of the price being reduced, the OBC has risen. I am sure that P&O's small print will cover them on this issue, as I would expect, but it still leaves a bitter taste.
Anyway - I may be wrong, as I haven't received a reply from P&O yet, so will just get on with my packing.....Tomorrow is Barbados!
-
Just noticed on the P&O web page, that they have a promotion running until 28th Feb, which offers extra OBC for certain cruises throughout 2014.
I have 2 cruises booked in 2014, both booked under the 'Vantage' scheme, and the cost per cabin is still the same as I paid (excluding 5% early booking discount).
I think you can see my next question here........As the price of the cruise hasn't gone down technically, but only in reality due to the extra OBC, will this extra OBC be passed onto me?
I tried to call P&O, but it had just gone 3.00pm and Carnival towers have closed for the Xmas break. So, I have emails my P&O personal cruise consultant, and will await their reply? Any guesses as to what this may be?
Shall have to console myself with packing, ready for my flight to Barbados on Friday to join the Azura!

What exactly does this mean. I am used to being told a time and table and then I dont need to think about it again.
Have I got to start making decisions. Oh dear.
No...Freedom Dining is now an 'OPTION' along with the traditional arrangements of club dining.
-
Not seen this mentioned before so I thought I would post.
Having just booked for Oct 14 on Oriana, I was surprised to get an option for Freedom Dining when making my booking. On further investigation, Oriana, Aurora, and Arcadia will all be introducing Freedom Dining during the next year.
The only ship that isn't mentioned is Adonia.

Thanks for the replies...
I have looked at their web-site, but I have booked the premium cabin and fly from Gatwick. Therefore I am assuming that the info on their web-page is for their normal flights, rather than a charter to P&O.
My assumption is that I will be on one of the 'Manchester' aircraft, which they will divert to Gatwick?
