Is the NCL FCC part of the AON insurance?  I thought it was just an NCL thing for when the insurance claim is denied.  I'm not seeing how AON is "great" here.  Maybe I don't understand the process.

Why did they reject the claim?

Again, why was the claim denied and did the NYS Dept. do anything to help?

Maybe I don’t understand how it works either. Like I said, I’ve never filed a claim. You’re probably right about once refused, NCL  gives an FCC. At least AON was quick to refuse!

  2. ChiefMateJRK, to be honest, we had a very sick cat who we thought was dying. I was very honest with them, sent them copies of vet bills too. They probably got a good laugh out of it, I knew it wasn’t a good claim. But anyone who has furry family members will understand, he was more important than our cruise. We are very lucky that he’s better & back to his old self. So, instead of a refund we got an FCC, which was fine, a percentage of the total, of course. There will be many cruises in our future, I’m sure!

  3. On April 11 we had to cancel our April 16 cruise due to illness in the family. Filled out the initial application for a refund , they turned us down. On May 7 we received a Future Cruise Credit for a very fair amount! My PCC said it’s the fastest credit he’s ever seen! We have never used insurance, but I’m sure glad it was an easy process. Don’t be afraid of using NCL’s insurance, it was worth it for us.

  4. We have a Panama Canal cruise in April & are flying in 2 days early from Ohio to Miami. We had credits on Southwest, and we all know how dependable they are.🤨  We are laying over in Atlanta in case some disaster happens with SW. There are several airlines with flights to Miami so we’ll grab one of those if needed. Can’t trust them anymore!

I’m sorry their flights have been changed. Whether it was NCL’s fault or the airline’s, they don’t deserve a credit. Those of us who have flown for years have gone through this. If you book directly through an airline, you can change your flights, if there’s room. I wish them the best.

  5. When we get an aft cabin, it’s always deck 9. We love the quiet, No people traffic. Yes, you will feel vibration when docking. No, people can’t see you from above & no noise from below. We’ve been there several times & have an aft cabin on the Encore in April. As Two Wheels Only said, your ac turns off when the balcony door is open. Enjoy!

  6. We’re flying in 4 days early to Iceland so we’re not doing NCL flights on the way over but we are doing them on the way back. We got ours about 45 days out too. We leave out of London, to Dulles, to Columbus. Great flights, however, my husband & I weren’t sitting together on either. So he got on the airline’s website & changed our seats & upgraded us to comfort plus. Lots more comfortable on long flights.

It's been a couple of years, and I was not with a cruise tour, but if I remember, there is a changing room with lockers.  You have to shower before getting in.  After going from the changing room/showers, there is another area just outside of the lagoon to leave your towel and flip flops (what I had).

If you want to take pictures, I would recommend taking a waterproof phone case.  Otherwise, you don't really need anything else.

Thank you! One more question, did you take your flip flops or did they provide them? I’m assuming they were yours. Great info!

  8. The Blue Lagoon will be our last stop of a day of touring. We’d like to know what to take & more. I assume they have changing rooms & lockers. I’m wondering if we will need water shoes to walk from there to the lagoon. What else should we take with us? We appreciate any information you can give us so we’ll be prepared!

  9. I don’t want to be mean when I say this, but don’t be an Ugly American, like some will refer to some of us.  Try to learn please, thank you, hello, in their language if possible. Smile! Some people expect everything should be the same as the US.some things are much better! I love seeing dogs lying under their owner’s chairs in the cafes! I love talking to the people we meet on the streets! You will find the world is so much smaller the more you travel. And we are all alike, we love our home country. Enjoy!
