  1. Mudslides, Mojitos, mango meltdowns definitely! I don’t like alcohol.
  2. There are many people who post on a thread that don’t read the entire post. I’ve done several M&Gs over the years. Yes, I got priority boarding, meals in the Haven, & other privileges. I’ve left it to others for several years now. I love going to them though!
  3. Maybe I don’t understand how it works either. Like I said, I’ve never filed a claim. You’re probably right about once refused, NCL gives an FCC. At least AON was quick to refuse!
  4. ChiefMateJRK, to be honest, we had a very sick cat who we thought was dying. I was very honest with them, sent them copies of vet bills too. They probably got a good laugh out of it, I knew it wasn’t a good claim. But anyone who has furry family members will understand, he was more important than our cruise. We are very lucky that he’s better & back to his old self. So, instead of a refund we got an FCC, which was fine, a percentage of the total, of course. There will be many cruises in our future, I’m sure!
  5. On April 11 we had to cancel our April 16 cruise due to illness in the family. Filled out the initial application for a refund , they turned us down. On May 7 we received a Future Cruise Credit for a very fair amount! My PCC said it’s the fastest credit he’s ever seen! We have never used insurance, but I’m sure glad it was an easy process. Don’t be afraid of using NCL’s insurance, it was worth it for us.
  6. Wonderful story, nimbex1970! That lady was so lucky you were there! What are the odds? You’re her angel!
  7. We have a Panama Canal cruise in April & are flying in 2 days early from Ohio to Miami. We had credits on Southwest, and we all know how dependable they are.🤨 We are laying over in Atlanta in case some disaster happens with SW. There are several airlines with flights to Miami so we’ll grab one of those if needed. Can’t trust them anymore! I’m sorry their flights have been changed. Whether it was NCL’s fault or the airline’s, they don’t deserve a credit. Those of us who have flown for years have gone through this. If you book directly through an airline, you can change your flights, if there’s room. I wish them the best.
  8. If we sail out of New York we always stay 4-5 days pre cruise because we love the city! A hotel in Times Square serves our needs, close to shows & great restaurants! Enjoy!
  9. Bids always start out as pending. When it changes to processing that’s when you’ve won your bid. Good luck!
  10. There are many older cruisers on NCL, & those who have mobility issues. I have a problem with children running around & into people that are walking. I know they’re excited, but these people have a right to safely walk also. Otherwise, I have no problem, enjoy!
  11. When we get an aft cabin, it’s always deck 9. We love the quiet, No people traffic. Yes, you will feel vibration when docking. No, people can’t see you from above & no noise from below. We’ve been there several times & have an aft cabin on the Encore in April. As Two Wheels Only said, your ac turns off when the balcony door is open. Enjoy!
  12. The airlines are so unreliable now you have to fly in at least the day before. Can’t blame NCL, they have no control over the airlines’ schedule. I’m sorry you had to learn the hard way. Took us 3 days to get to Iceland last month. Luckily we were flying in 5 days early.
  13. I always carry duct tape for laundry bags.
  14. Yes, 1 bag each. I send the first one through in one name & the next one in the other. Be sure to write your Latitudes status at the top of your paper with your list. If you both are Platinum status.
  15. It will show up on your cruise summary page on the left side on the “on board spending” line. Have a great cruise!
  16. We’re flying in 4 days early to Iceland so we’re not doing NCL flights on the way over but we are doing them on the way back. We got ours about 45 days out too. We leave out of London, to Dulles, to Columbus. Great flights, however, my husband & I weren’t sitting together on either. So he got on the airline’s website & changed our seats & upgraded us to comfort plus. Lots more comfortable on long flights.
  17. Thank you! One more question, did you take your flip flops or did they provide them? I’m assuming they were yours. Great info!
  18. We stayed at The Square pre cruise a few years ago. A beautiful hotel & we could walk practically anywhere. Be careful of the bicycles they don’t stop for anyone! Beautiful city, so much to see & do. Hotel is around the corner from from Tivoli Gardens, a must see!
  19. The Blue Lagoon will be our last stop of a day of touring. We’d like to know what to take & more. I assume they have changing rooms & lockers. I’m wondering if we will need water shoes to walk from there to the lagoon. What else should we take with us? We appreciate any information you can give us so we’ll be prepared!
  20. I don’t want to be mean when I say this, but don’t be an Ugly American, like some will refer to some of us. Try to learn please, thank you, hello, in their language if possible. Smile! Some people expect everything should be the same as the US.some things are much better! I love seeing dogs lying under their owner’s chairs in the cafes! I love talking to the people we meet on the streets! You will find the world is so much smaller the more you travel. And we are all alike, we love our home country. Enjoy!
  21. NCL booked our return flight from London but we weren’t sitting together on either flight. John went on line & upgraded us to comfort plus, or whatever it’s called on Delta, and we’re sitting together. It was an easy fix for us, however, we didn’t try to upgrade to business class.
  22. Next person should have been the Hotel Director. Always resolve problems before getting off the ship.
  23. It’s a wonderful option! I joined that group on some days during our Rhine cruise.
