Great first video.  Thanks so much for taking the time and effort to post these.  I now remember what I want for lunch as soon as we board for our April cruise!!

Or you can just go with my strategy of putting everything I can fit on my plate. Then I pick and choose as I taste! But seriously, all of the food was really good. One disappointment was Prime 7, which I think we visited on the fourth night. That was just mediocre!

Daren, enjoying your video as we speak... just walking around with you is so much fun. Thanks for posting it. Haven't been on the Splendor yet, many times on Explorer... and will again soon. Thanks again.

Great to hear. Check back on the channel on Saturday for the next few weeks and I will have full room and ship tours, other restaurants, and excursions!

  4. Hello everyone,

Cruise was great! And I only put on 4 pounds.

The first video from the cruise has been posted to our channel. Search YouTube for:

Travels with Daren and Johnetta; or

    Regent Splendor

and you should be able to find the video. They take awhile to put together, so I will post each Saturday until I get through the 9 days of footage. So subscribe ad hit the notification bell.  I would post the actual link, but for some reason when I do, my posts never see the light of day.

  5. Sorry, we did not meet anyone from the board on this cruise. We really wanted to social distance as much as possible.

Some of you may have notice a short black guy with a camera of one type or another, permanently attached to his hand. Well that was me!

Don't think you will be doing anything on YouTube unless you plan on paying extra for WIFI that allows streaming . On the standard WIFI ( included ) YouTube  is blocked. We are on the Explorer and that is the situation here.

Thanks, I hope to find wifi in the ports. Since it is a 9 night cruise, I plan to edit the videos on the ship, and if the ports have wifi, I will upload one or two. So no worries!!

Grand Suites and above allow for in room dining from all the venues course by course, if requested.  You could even do appetizers from Pacific Rim and a steak from Prime 7 for example.   We've done this several times with friends/family on our balcony.   Below Grand Suites, you still can get Compass Rose delivered to you, but not the specialty restaurants.   BUT... If you have a good butler and plan ahead,  they can sometimes make happen for you in rooms below a Grand Suite.   This all might change when Regent sets sail again though.

Thanks for the info, but yeah.....I am not in the Grand Suites!! Guess I will test the limits when I meet the butler!

  8. Given the uptick in virus cases, we might dine in our room more often on our December cruise.  Does anyone know whether the butler can serve in room dining from all menus (Compass Rose, Prime7, Chartreuse, Pacific Rim, Sette Mara), or just from Compass Rose?

    Thanks!

It is glaringly obvious Regent has lawyered up and those of us with future cruise credits are at high risk of losing our money. We have been cancelled twice and because we were paid in full we could not get a cash refund. Now we are 2 years older and my husband will be 85 when we are scheduled to cruise early 2022.  Plus no one knows about booster shot requirements now that most of us have reached our 6 months since fully vaccinated. What a mess and I have a feeling Regent will wind up with all our money and we will have no cruise.

We were paid in full when Regent cancelled our March 2020 cruise due to Covid.  We were offered a full refund or a future cruise credit. You may want to double check on that!

  10. Good morning everyone,

On the RSSC site, there is now a new section of documentation under the booked cruises.  Of particular concern is the Health Attestation/Ticket Contract. I am fully vaccinated, but as I read this, I am not sure about a couple of things.

    1. It seems that there will be a COVID antigen test prior to embarkation. Is this test taken at the port in the morning of embarkation? What is the turnaround time on the results?

    2. What happens if you are one of the breakthrough infections? Will your cruise fare be refunded?

I am going to call Regent, unless someone already has and replies to this message!!

  11. Thanks for all the information. We looked at a few YouTube videos about GSC and decided that if a large ship were scheduled to be there, we would probably pay for a villa to avoid the crowds, if they were still available. We will make that a game time decision!

  12. On our planned (fingers crossed) Dec 2021 cruise, Miami - Miami on RSSC Splendor, they have changed the first port from Dominican Republic to Great Stirrup Cay. Has anyone been there on Regent? Are food and alcoholic beverages included? Is the zip line free?

    Any information would be helpful.

  13. Will be sailing on Regent Miami to Miami on March 24, and one of the stops is Harvest Caye.

    Two questions:

    1. How do you access the beach area? Is it a short walk from the dock? Do you have to tender to the port area?

    2. Are there lockers available to store a backpack with wallets, camera gear, etc.?

    Thanks!

  14. Sorry that I have not been posting religiously. Tours, food and alcohol have made me very tired. And that is a good thing!

The only weak spot of the trip is the mildly disappointing food in Setti Mari. I made the mistake of having Carbonara in Rome, and then having the same onboard. Not good!

Other than that, the food, service, cleanliness, politeness of staff, etc. have all been what I have come to expect.

Skipping the tours to walk around Los Carunas today.

Barring any major snafus, we will cruise again in three years, and will be on Regent!!!

  15. Embarkation fast and efficient. Rooms were nice and my pre ordered two bottles of alcohol were in the suite. Met steward and asked for another bottles of wine and some triple sec, and they were delivered.

Very nice meal at Compass Rose. I had an apple tart, Caesar salad and the lamb, wife had mussels, salad and bass. All were very good, equal to a five star restaurant in the states. So far, I am not sure what all the gripes are about.

Met another couple today who were very disappointed in the pre cruise at the Sheraton.
