I am cruising on Princess in March 2016 embarking at Valparaiso. We arrive 3 days prior to cruise in Santiago and looking for a 2 night pre cruise package with one night in Santiago and one night in Valparaiso or nearby. I found a company that provides that with transports and tours. I'm wondering if anyone has ever used a company called South Excursions, located in Vina del Mar, for tours, transports or packages and can recommend them? Or another tour company to recommend? The Princess package for 2 nights is with both nights in Santiago, but I want to see Valparaiso and Vina del Mar as well. Thanks for any advice!
Are you on the Star Princess - March 14? We have a very active roll call - check it out. Transfers, tours, hotels etc have been organized by various people & the info is on google docs you can link to from the roll call. Look for the link in D&K Travel's signature.

The problem with this is that our flight doesn't get in till Sunday morning at 10:30 am. After a 13 hr flight from LAX to Santiago we might be a wee bit tired. Where are you staying in Valparaiso?
We have the Ibis Valparaiso booked for the 13th
www.accorhotels.com/gb/hotel-8227-ibis-valparaiso/index.shtml
and the Ibis Estacion booked for the 12th
www.ibis.com/gb/hotel-7531-ibis-santiago-estacion-central/index.shtml
We're flying out of Vancouver the evening of the 11th & it will take us until the evening of the 12th to get there! We knew it would be a long one so we took a couple of extra days at the beginning.
We only have to fly TO the cruise since we are staying on until we arrive back in Vancouver.

Are there any suggestions on transportation from Santiago to Valparaiso. We will be arriving in Santiago on a Sunday in March of 2016, for a cruise departure in Valparaiso on Monday? We would like to stay in Valparaiso for Sunday night, but wondering about transportation from airport to there.
We're on the same cruise & arrive in Santiago Saturday night. We are planning to book a tour/transfer with SouthExcursions for the Sunday. This is an 8 hour tour of Santiago & Valparaiso with a stop at a winery - check it out on the roll call - post #173. Would love to have some travel companions to help bring the price down.
We have the Ibis Estacion booked for Saturday night in Santiago & another Ibis booked for Sunday night in Valparaiso.

Thanks for the tip about the Loyalty Ambassador onboard, I will try it. Sailing single, it will be mid-way first cruise where I reach Diamond.
The LA won't change it mid cruise, but see her/him at the start of the second cruise. She/he will manually update the system & put a Diamond sticker on your card. You'll also get all the info needed to enjoy the onboard perks - Diamond Lounge/event, 3 happy hour drinks, separate breakfast area etc..
We just did this in March on Jewel.
It did take a week or two after the cruises for the change to show up on my RC profile. Celebrity also updated us to Elite - faster than RC!

We made Diamond after week 1 of our recent B2B on Jewel. The LA put a Diamond Member sticker on our week 2 cards. Very nice to enjoy the extra perks on the second week.
It was also nice when I logged into my Celebrity account to update & saw we were already changed to Elite!
Working on Princess Elite now..:D

14NT/B2B "Voyage of the Glaciers" on Sapphire for $1700 all-in for two in an obstructed. We had exquisite weather as well. It was an email promo.
We did this one twice! 2012 on Diamond for about $1400 & 2013 on Coral for about $1500.
First time it came in an email - the next year I checked Princess's website & found it again. I think it was there last year, but we had a Celebrity credit to use.

We use the Boca clips. Picked them up at the Publix in Fort Lauderdale a few years ago. We have a frog set & a lizard set - makes it very easy to find your chairs on the pool deck!

I have a KOBO reader from Chapters/Indigo.
I've manged to half fill it with over 300 books - mostly from the Gutenberg website. Great source of e-pub books. I'm reading & re-reading lots of classics.
There's still room for many more books - I'll have it full before we leave in March. It will also hold most of our travel info in pdf format.
