Ha. On the Freedom's track a few years ago I was running by and almost knocked over a woman who had full plates of food in each hand. It would have been an epic disaster at sea.
I've seen a garage sale like that before. Somebody was on the track running faster than they should have been and a lady was coming back from the bar with 3 umbrella drinks. It was spectacular, think one of the glasses went overboard.

Thanks for the heads up on the rules. I am pretty new to walking
Are you two years old? I'm kidding, I get what you're saying.
Walking sticks on a cruise ship? Somebody too the time to pack walking sticks? And they use them on a cruise ship?
-
It would be bad for cruisers as there would be less competition and higher prices.
-
You can access it on deck 5 just ouside the elevators, you can access it from the gym on deck 6 (via stairs obviously), I think you can access it via stairs from back of deck 6. Walkers are welcome but PLEASE stay to the right and please don't walk 4 abreast holding hands.

There's an argument to go on both obviously. I think Indy is a great ship but obviously it doesn't have the stuff that Oasis has. I much MUCH prefer the eastern itinerary to Western, except maybe Labadee. Labadee is great but really it's just another beach.
In your case I'm leaning towards Indy because it's a new ship (to you) and your hubby wants to do the itinerary. But if you had a blast on Allure with the eastern itinerary, if you do Oasis you already know you're gonna have a great time.

Could I put a small case of water in a checked bag? This would be out of FLL in a few weeks.

This isn't unusual at all, happen on two cruises I've taken over the last few years.
-
You must go where, back to Carnival?
I'm willing to play wait and see with dynamic dining. While I do love the traditional dining experience on Royal, I realize it's probably 10% of the royal experience. I've got 3 cruises booked currently and if it's a train wreck, at that point I'll consider ditching royal. I think it'll be different but still at least acceptable.

We're doing the 12 night Sunshine in the Canaries Cruise on Anthem. I don't think there is any comparison. Once Anthem heads to Nj, you either will have a boring itinerary from NJ or you will have to go to China to go on Quantum.
Out of Southampton, you get the best of both worlds, and I hear great things about the Canary Islands!
That's the one I've booked, got probably the best deal I could've consider it'll be the ships first few months. I've never wanted to see the Canaries necessarily but it'll be more interesting than the Caribbean (yes, I'm a little spoiled).

That seems like the right thing to do, she may not have known how long it had been there and getting something important to a crew member seems the right thing to go. If it was only 3 minutes, couldn't the Windjammer Manager find out who received it?
It was the wrong thing to do...a terrible thing to do. We had personal effects and glasses of water on the table. My daughter was sitting there but went to her mommy and a minute later we saw a lady in the process of cleaning our table to use it.
She was very unapologetic and dismissive, I'm proud to say I've never hit a woman even after that incident.

How do I apply for a MLife card and what's the process to show I'm a diamond C&A? I might be going to vegas in december, could come in handy.
-
Ok, I don't have my kids C&A numbers to give to an agent when I book a cruise. I guess I don't need to give it to them since they automatically get credit when I cruse?
-
My kids get credit to their C&A when I cruise, even if they don't. But I'm wondering if there is an easy way to add them to my account online. Right now I see nobody else on my account, even though my gf and kids are linked to my C&A. I really don't wanna call royal if I don't have to.

I normally don't book insurance but this will be my first european cruise and my daughter has a unique health issue that could cancel the trip. I was wondering if there are any pros and cons of going with itravel and if there is somebody else I should look at. I believe I'm paying $250 or so for 3 of us on a 12nt cruise. I checked their website and it seems like I'd be covered if my daughter had to be hospitalized. Also, my father is 92 years old, in perfect health, but stuff happens.
Thanks!

I'm looking specifically for a shot of cabin 6704 which is 50% obstructed view and has a small 55sqft balcony. I'm about to book Anthem but it's fully refundable if the view or cabin in general is abysmal. It's aft starboard side...thanks!
Edit: Looks like the obstruction is merely lifeboats directly below? I can live with that...
-
Thanks guys, good points. We'll probably just snorkel and look to get certified next year.

This kid had an argument with Darwin...as is usually the case, Darwin won.
-
Yeah, I did mean brilliance...sorry.
I'm going to book Anthem but have room for remorse as my TA doesn't charge for cancellation before final payment. My other conundrum is that I'm booking a DO which is '50 to 75% obstructed view'. I'm all about saving money and I don't necessarily need the finest cabin on the ship. But what could 75% obstructed view mean?

I had something a lot more traumatic get lost than a camera. My young daughter is diabetic and years ago I left her testing kit and insulin on a table in the windjammer. Not 3 minutes later we go to the table and it's gone, removed by a not very nice lady so her family could sit down. She gave it to a waiter and expressed no remorse.
For an hour we scoure the windjammer and never found the kit. By the end of our search I was practically hyperventilating. The ship's doctor bailed us out but I learned two things that day. Always bring back up insulin on vacation and only leave things out of your sight that you're willing to part with. Cruise or no cruise.

I find russia and estonia more fascinating (heritage is lithuanian) but my teen kids would find spain and beaches more interesting. And of course the Anthem far more interesting.
Hmm...
-
The Anthem goes to Spain and Canary Islands, Explorer goes to Russia, Finland, etc. The only thing that concerns me as well is the Anthem balcony would be obstructed view and I think it has only a 55ft balcony. Obviously there's not way to see what an obstructed view looks like as the boat isn't built yet.
I do think it would be kinda cool to be on the fourth or fifth cruise of a new ship.

I'm glad I saw this thread as I'm looking to book a european cruise soon. I've always thought choice air was more pricey but I'll take a look if it's actually cheaper to europe.
Just did a search, about $400 cheaper for me. I'm wondering if there is a time frame when it's better to go back to choice air, but then you don't wanna book a cruise without airfare locked down.
-
Have you seen the body type of the typical cruiser? Most can't get enough sweets, and why not charge them $4 when it would take a serious walk to get to the windjammer where it is free.
-
My gf and I are considering getting scuba certified and we thought we might take a intro program if there is such a thing in St Kitts. Only picking St Kitts because we have plans established at the other ports of call on our upcoming cruise. Mind you, we're not looking to get fully certified here, just a taste of scuba.
Thanks.
What are my options if I cancel a cruise on Dec 6?
in Royal Caribbean International

I may not be able to go on a cruise I have fully paid for on December 6. What are my options here? I'm assuming worst case scenario, that I'd get no refund except for port charges. My TA is probably Royal's biggest partner, is there any wiggle room in there?
