  1. My wife and I will be in Saint John in October.

Unfortunately the ship's tour we wanted to take is already sold out.

Does anyone have ideas / suggestions for private tours / taxis to see the

Bay of Fundy, St. Martins & Sea Caves and Saint John Old City Market?

Would be happy to get some suggestions. Thanks!

What ship are you on? I was expecting to book my excursions on board for my NCL Dawn Oct 3 cruise. You have me worried now. I wonder if it says it's sold out online, there is still available slots once you get on your ship?

  2. Hello! We usually take private tours, but can't seem to find good options that are not booked in these areas:

Has anyone personally taken "Bras D'or Lakes Grand Tour" for $149 pp (lunch included) in Sydney, Nova Scotia? If so, what resort do they take you to? Is the food good? Is it worth the price?

Has anyone taken "Best Of Saint John - Top 10" for $99pp (no food included), or "St. Martins & The Bay Of Fundy" also $99pp (one hour less, bowl of chowder included) in Saint John, Bay of Fundy?

    Appreciate any help, Thanks!

  3. Thanks for the tip.. I didn't see until you mentioned it that I can see a sample menu under each restaurant! I like the Teppanyaki thing, but we go to the same concept one at home once in a while and we want to talk with the other couple in a quieter atmosphere. Also I see there is a "presumed murdered" luncheon.. anyone do this and what did you think of it? Bamboo and Cagneys look yummy!

  4. We don't usually go to the specialty restaurants, but we are planning to enjoy one on our Dawn sea day with another couple. We don't know which one to choose. I hear a lot of good things about Le Bistro, anyone have other suggestions? We like fish more that steak if that helps at all. We also probably wouldn't do Teppanyaki.

Also, I am assuming there is no need to pre-book this prior to getting on board.

    Thanks!

  5. Hello.. Does anyone know if the Dawn has a specialty coffee bar? If so is there a coffee package?

Also, on the NCL website they say there is a juice and smoothie bar. Are these like a fresh juice bar with fruits and veggies and real fruit smoothies or like just apple juice, etc. and smoothie mixes?

    Thanks for any insight.

  6. My son wore jeans and a t-shirt with writing (aero, american eagle, etc) and sneakers every night. No issues whatsoever. I let him wear what he wanted within reason or else the entire cruise would be ruined with his cranky attitude :)

  7. I walked off with my carry on luggage at 6:30, had a private transfer waiting, got to the airport with no problem at all, went through all the controls and still waited around an hour and a half for my 10:30 a.m. flight. Obviously, a later flight would have given me a more comfortable cushion, but by taking the 10:30 am flight, it saved me another 6 hours of traveling time and I felt the risk was worth it.

  8. This was my post and I just re-read the thread. I can't believe all my typos! I will be here in October 9th of 2015 (not 2014) and my ship will be there from

8am-5pm (not 10am-5pm) and I would like to beat crowds not crows!!!!

Anyone have any advice about which company or times are better? I guess I could try to email Tom's Port Guides to see why it was not mentioned.

    Thanks!

Me again.. I must have missed it the first time, but the tour is in the port guide. I am a disaster.

  9. I booked reservations on the National Park Tour.. but I am curious why this tour was not mentioned in the newly updated Tom's Port Guide for Bar Harbor? Unless I missed it, he only mentions Oli's Trolley's. Also, in 2014 when I will be there in October, Oli's tours are 11 am or 2 pm and the park is 10 am or 1 pm (our ship will be there 10-5), should I go with a particular time to beat the crows? Fog burnoff? Thanks!

  11. If anyone is interested, the location was perfect!! The open connecting doors were in a very awkward spot. When the doors are open, they don't wrap all the way around so the door blocks the view of the TV while in bed. It also makes it so you cant pull the chair up to the little table. Not a huge deal, but a little annoying.

These particular cabins also have third bed pull downs and a trundle bed under one of the beds in each room.

  12. Jump limo was great.. all three Rome transfers went just fine with punctual and polite drivers and price was as quoted. Only near disaster (mostly my fault) was the hotel guy almost turned the driver away because the driver only had my first name. I should have let the hotel desk know I was expecting a driver and the driver also should have had my complete name passed on to him.
