This will be our 1st time cruising from Tampa and we will be staying at a hotel near the airport the night before our cruise. We were wondering what our best option is for transportation to the port? Would our best option be a local shuttle company or Uber/Lyft? When we return we have a late afternoon flight would a local taxi be the best option for the return trip to the airport?

A year later and this thread has regained life. LOL I'll be going on my next cruise 12/2 . After all my cruises I still stress on how much to tip our dinning room crew. Thanks again for all the help.

We are staying on the lido deck too. We enjoy the convenience of being near everything and we have never had any issues with noise I hope that continues. I hate to keep bothering you with questions but I was wondering if you know the answer to this question. We have late dining and our last few cruises we also had late dining and the service was slow so some of our group missed the late shows was the service slow? Can our group plan on making the shows? We always arrive as soon as the dining room doors open. Thanks in advance for your help.

Great review!! I sail her in about 10 days and I can't wait. Is there a Mongolian wok on the Glory?
-
With the exception of late night eats (LNE) which closes about 1 AM, you have listed all your options.
We often order a cheese plate for dessert and take it back to the stateroom. Make a lovely late night snack with an adult beverage on the balcony.
Thanks for the info.

The short answer is: however you want. I usually fold a $20 bill in fourths and slip it to the steward when I shake his (or her) hand. We do the same with the wait staff (I wouldn't leave it on the table). I don't leave extra tips on the receipt for drinks, but I hand over a $1 or $2 cash when I receive the drink. Really, whatever you choose to do is fine; I don't like to make a big production of it. Just be sure you let them know that you appreciate what they do and what you expect as far as service is concerned.
Great ideas, thanks for the info.

Thanks I appreciate your help, is this new menu available on the Glory?
-
I was just wondering what are our late night eating options on the Glory other than pizza which I love and room service which takes forever. We have late dining so we're usually there until about 10pm and we never go to bed before 2am . Thanks in advance for your help.

Lots of interesting views on this subject, I had no idea when I started this thread it would receive all this attention that was not my intent. I just feel like the room stewards and dinning room staff do such a great job they deserve a few extra bucks per day, with that being said I would like to thank everyone that's replied so far .

Where can you find the new menus? I love the deli and I'm wondering if this will be available on the Glory when I sail her in a few weeks.

I liked it when they gave them to you while you were still on the ship I always filled them out, now that they send them via email I'm less likely to fill them out.

Alot of great ideas. Thanks!!

Thank you guys so much for the info I really appreciate it.

Thanks so much for all the info I really appreciate it. We will be a group total of 8 if we tip the head waiter 45$ and his assistant 35$ on top of our groups auto tips is that appropriate?
-
My DW and I will be on a 7 day cruise and we're going to to get the cheers card my question is we have carnival gift cards can we use those to pay for it ahead of time so we can save 35pp ?
-
We always leave our auto tips intact, with that being said, we were wondering how much extra should we tip our room steward who we will only have clean our cabin once per day and we normally don't ask them for anything extra, our dinning room staff which we use every night and we plan on getting the cheers card and we always tip 1 or 2$ per round. We will be on a 7 day cruise. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for your review, I'll be sailing on her next week I've been kinda of nervous after reading recent reviews but I've decided to quit worrying about things that I have no control over and I will have a great time. How long did you have to wait for a tender over to Half Moon Cay ? How long were the lines for lunch on the lido deck? Thanks again!
-
I'm eager to hear the rest of your review I'm sailing on the Victory in 9 days.
-
Thanks for the review, are there any other options for lunch on the lido deck? We are going on a 4 day cruise in November with a aft balcony unfortunately I'm starting to regret our decision to book on Victory. I hope I'm wrong and it turns out fine as we are taking first time cruisers with us.
