Just sat on hold for one hour. I knew it would be too good to be true. NO go. Not combineable.
-
Ok...so I called the captain's club number and hit 2. It has been an hour on hold. Is this normal??? No need to tell me I should have hung up long ago. LOL
-
You call the number on the card and book on the phone.
-
For those with the celebrity visa, will we also get the 10% for using the card benefit

Hi,
If you are comfortable, can you share what the rate was?
-
Yes the boys were out in full force...

May I ask where the loud rap music was blarring? Also, how was the chair situation at the pool. Many thanks!
I didn't hear the rap so I lucked out. Chairs were never a problem...shock....but remember this was not a typical cruise. My female friends were ecstatic over the fact there were 950 men...no crowds in the ladies room!!!

WHAT?????????? A virus? Nooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!
I know...I was keeping it low key...crew was still shaking hands still and tongs were not removed. All I saw was the bleaching of the rails, no other indications. But my friends indicated that the deck 2 med center was jumping Thursday night and Friday.

Just off the Reflection yesterday.
The MDR bar staff we encountered was not great. Aqua Spa does not have the jellies and brioches. Most other stuff has been covered. However there must have been a mini virus breakout. I would say at least a dozen people that I personally knew were quarantined late Thursday until the end of the cruise. I saw the bleach spray bottles out on Friday and there was a lot of wiping the rails by crew members. Also 2 people I know got a communication from Celebrity this AM indicating they would get credit for those 2 days. Bravo to Celebrity for fast action and doing what was right since it was not my friends fault this happened.
Finally. The ship was poorly provisioned. Please ask if they have Ginger Peach Ice Tea at Cafe Al Bacio. Also if you have time please say hello from Ken the 1230 AM guy to Mihaela and Fridda at Al Bacio. And say hi from Ken the Tanned Russian Guy for Marius at the Molecular bar. PS they all work after 6 pm. :)
And tell Ivica you want the Ken discount at the Lawn Club Grill and don't forget to ask that you want to keep the apron. That one is a secret so don't go spreading that around the ship!!! ;) and tip extra or else!!!

Is it safe to assume No Transatlantics are eligible once again???

No way on Wicked. No how no way. That would water down the brand for sure. It is a powerhouse (money wise) on B-way and on tour... I do hope I am wrong...but I think not. Too bad they were not quicker on the gun because NCL outdid them by getting Legally Blonde. While not everyone's cup of tea. It will certainly appeal to the masses and is easy to produce/cut in order to fit into the ship. I personally like the show and while I have never cruised on NCL....I will when the Getaway is launched..and all because my other half is OBSESSED with that show! LOL
Logically, Jersey Boys would be a win if they could land that. The ONLY problem is finding the voice talent level needed to pull off that show at a cruise line pay scale price. That will be tough for sure!

Hello,
My sister walks with a cane. If i get her a cab to valley church will she be able to walk the rest of the way? How long is the dirt road from the drop off point to the place where I will plop her down for the day ;) ?

We have been in the D5!!! And we peeked over the edge to see inside our D1 neighbors balcony. In my opinion you get all the benefits of a D1 at a D5 price. At the time we booked before the ship was done so the price difference was immense...I don't know if that is still true obviously. But the rooms were the same size...and to be honest..I don't think our balcony was that much bigger because we were next to them. But as one poster said..you do have a nice angle on the ship when you look away from the D1 side....

You look so familiar to someone I went to school with...but I thought it more polite to ask area than how old are you....lol

We have done chef's table twice. I dont drink wine but my other half and friends all do. I still had a great time. E wine was free flowing at both dinners. We dis the Oasis and Allure. I am surprised to hear no more books and apron. On the Oasis last year we got one book per couple. On the Allure this past March each person got a cookbook.
-
Just a plain...... Omg.
When I was on the Oasis they were the most moist flavorful roast beef sandwiches I have ever had. Beef on weck is their official name. It should have been a kimmelweck roll that is dipped in au jus and the rare roast beef with a nice dollop of horseradish cream. Heaven on a plate.
Hopefully the allure makes than as good as the ones on the oasis.

This past february we were in a d5. The balcony is slightly bigger as I booked this one thinking I would get all the benefits of a d1 at a d5 price. But to be honest, it felt like the angle was an optical illusion and the extra space gained was minimal. I could see into the d1 next to me and I felt our sizes were nearly identical. I think we were on deck 10 and we had great views. We were on the starboard side. My guess is the d1 next to them was slightly larger. We booked years ago when a d5 was 1400 a person. By sail date a d5 was 2500 so we were happy either way. I think d5 is the way to go if you can't get a d1 at a reasonable price..

I'm not a big picture taker but yes...the views are awesome. They are just like what the Aqua Theater suites have....there are 2 on each side. they are quiet and not well used...its a great place to go read a book and chill....and of course see the ocean and the wake of the ship.

Deck - 12
Cabin # - 590
Class – D5
Front Starboard, Front Port, Back Starboard, Back Port, Central Park, or Boardwalk - Front Starboard
Bed near?(balcony or bath) – Bath
Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – Yes. When the ship rocked..hahaha...ever so slightly...there was a creak or two. But we liked it. Very minimal.
Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions or privacy was an issue– Since this is a slightly angled balcony you could not look to the Aft. BUT you could look to the Front and see all the way up to the Captains bridge that stuck out. Lovely view...
Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Slightly Oversized. Basically getting a D1 view, location, and almost same size for the price of a D5. I think the best value on the ship!
Was wind a problem? What wind??
Any specific problems with this cabin? None
Any other comments? Like all the rest of the D class...where the heck are the drawers..If you love your drawers...watch out...Otherwise use the closet cubbies well!

Hey I was busy...
Yes the Petri dishes come in only the large size.
We were told they only get a limited number. hahahhaahaha
They are $300 each....unless you buy more than one. We teamed up with another couple and bought one for $250.
If anyone finds them cheaper let me know....
remember they are in the left hallway going into the casino....its a major hallway...you can't miss it...really.

Anniversary on the Soltice?
in Celebrity Cruises
Posted
We should keep in touch. LOL I'm taking my sister and her husband on the solstice in April to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. I imagine if you pay. You could redo the vows with the captain. Get a special cake made. Or perhaps arrange for a bridge tour. Then I can let you know what they do and don't do...and if it was worth it.
