🙄My eye roll needs to be more dramatic than this. Did the Shih Tzu also come with his stroller?

Had one of those on the Carnival Sunrise New England/Canada cruise back in October of 2019.  It  was next door to us on the aft and had a litter box type thing on the balcony.  Stroller included

We just returned from b2b.  Switched cabins.  It was easy!  We told our cabin steward and placed new cabin number on luggage.  They took it all over to our new cabin that morning.

Yep, easy-peasy.  I always make sure to tip him a bit more too.

thanks everyone-I really think I am going to do it.  the interior near my 2nd cabin has been booked by someone else.  so I really think I am going for ocean view, a couple floors down.  Being a solo cruiser just wanted tomake sure I wasn't in over my head.  Planned on extra tip 🙂

As others have stated, DO NOT leave your luggage in the hallway.

During a B2B with two different cabins, luggage transfer is handled by your stateroom steward.

Keep your luggage inside your cabin.

    🙂

OH yeah I know better then to put it in the hall.  sure wouldn't want my luggage getting off the ship while I m still on!!!!

  4. I am booked on the Freedom Nov.7 with bowling alley balcony.  Was seriously thinking of doing B2B starting the 3rd.  My cabin is not available for the 3rd sailing.  there is an interior catty corner from my room.  Never have done an interior, or I can go with an ocean view on 2 or a balcony on 8.  I am on 6 for the  7th sailing.  How hard is it to really switch rooms, would be better to do the close interior or go for the OV or balcony( balcony is still a little pricey)-more than what I paid for my 7th sailing,  I am sailing solo so there's that to consider also.

We're in a suite and our boarding pass says 'Priority'. But, I'm not expecting anything 'Priority' until after check-in, like you say. Fine with me.

    They did give us a 10:00 check-in. I didn't know there was a check-in that early.

Me too I chose 10 for check in and today when I was looking around I saw we now had 930 available so I switched.  My boarding pass also says Priority.

  6. Glad to read your review.  I am sailing o her solo February 14th.  This makes me feel so much better.  I got an offer yesterday for an upgrade to a suite, which I took.  Excited to be in a suite.  I had leftover FCC which was given to me as an on board credit that I was able to use for the upgrade.  So instead of having 891 for OBC I now  have 635 OBC

I've seen reports that exemptions are already being received for October sailings. Perhaps the first round of those only goes to the under 12 set, though, and they don't do adult exemptions until closer to sail date.

nope!  my 27 year old daughter received hers for October 23rd.  Originally scheduled for Nassau, Half Moon Cay and Grand Turk, was changed to Nassau, Princess Cay and Bimini.

I have 2 children under 12 and have submitted application for exception. I saw today a Health Assessment where I need to answer for all 4 of us if we are vaccinated or not. Wife and I are good to go but what option do i select for the kids?

I am waiting to see if we qualify for exemption for our kids and I'm not sure if i should wait longer as our sail date is not until October.

    Thanks.

that was my question also.  Naomi responded up above

The cattle start lining up long before the venue opens. If socially distanced, they would wrap around the ship a few times. They like to graze as they grab more - can't do that with a mask on. Covid may be primarily in the air, but it can also be spread via contact with contaminated surfaces.

The CDC said people generally don’t get COVID-19 from touching surfaces. People generally get COVID-19 from direct contact with someone who is infected or through airborne transmission.

    • “It is possible for people to be infected through contact with contaminated surfaces or objects (fomites), but the risk is generally considered to be low,” the CDC said in its updated guidelines.

    Welcome to the refund club!

    It’s the better choice.

Not necessarily.  In my daughter's and I case , our almost $2000 cruise we would only receive $576.00 back.  We originally received a 25% FCC when two ports of call were missed on our Oct 2019  Sunrise, Canada/New England cruise.  We used that to schedule the then inaugural Mardi Gras out of Copenhagen to London.  Unfortunately that was cancelled before Covid hit.  For that cruise being cancelled we received another 25% FCC.  We have had 5 other cruises cancelled.  So we will keep rescheduling with OBC although this time when we rescheduled we dropped down to a 5 day, so if this one cancels in late October we will only receive 300.  But that's life.  Another thing this was to be the last mom/daughter cruise as she is getting married New Years Eve 2021.  she also has a rescheduled cruise with fiancé and his family for early December 2021, and they are going to schedule one in January 2022 for their honeymoon.  I told her if ours is cancelled in October I will happily give her $288, for her half and go solo.  I will just keep plugging along and rescheduling until they either go or go bankrupt and then well I'm out $288.00!

  11. I should of been packing for a cruise leaving on the 14th on the Breeze.  This was after getting kicked off the inaugural European Mardi Gras last December, to getting kicked off the Breeze in July so that those scheduled on Radiance could have her, then getting kicked off the Magic in October so it could go into dry dock, then back to the Breeze, and that one was cancelled.  Hoping go sail March 21,2021.  Just feeling really sad today knowing that this Friday could have been boarding a flight from Columbus to Orlando.  Oh well using up some vacation time taking 3 day weekends and getting stuff done around the house.  Will make me appreciate my next cruise all the more.

I got a call from Carnival today.  More information about the special cruises will be coming on February 15, 2020.  She said we will get emails, to the email that received the cancellation letter, and John Heald will post the information on his Facebook page that day.

And what about the ones of us that never got the email?  Are we going to be left out?

Well, since you asked the question...I don't think over 20,000 people are complaining.  We are severely disappointed.  Even though the cruise is a year away, excursions and rooms were sold out months ago.  I know I have spent countless hours researching ports, excursions, flights, hotels; buying every Rick Steves book there is; watching You Tube videos of ports; becoming invested in roll calls and new friendships.  There was a lot that went into this.  So to just scrap it all and say, "Oh, well" I don't think is realistic.  This is fresh news to us.  Will we get over it?  Absolutely.  But today we are sad.  And it might be nice if our fellow cruisers could show just a tad bit of empathy right now.
Exactly my feelings.  I am 60 years old and basically raised 3 kids on my own after their father walked away.  this was to be a mom daughter trip probably our last as she will be getting married in the near future.  I have worked hard to be able to do this.  I know things happen but so disappointed.  Actually this is the second disappointment, as we had originally talked about transatlantic with the Panorama, but as we all know that didn't happen either.

There are a few companies that have been mentioned on this forum

    Dial 7

    Carmel Limo

    Empire CLS

    All three have websites

    https://www.dial7.com/coupons.html

    https://www.empirecls.com/

    Good luck

Be careful with Carmel, had booked them for three transfers, first one pick up from airport was fine.  However the next day for pick up from hotel  driver did not load our bags got in the car and left my daughter to do it, he then proceeded to take off down the street with her body half in and half out of the car.  Luckily she could keep up and was not swept under the car and ran over, or luckily there were not cars in parking spaces along the street that she could have run into.  Could have been a tradegy.  Cancelled the last pickup  they had come highly recommended and did have decent reviews on trip advisor, however their reviews have gone down hill and have left people stranded.  However it is your choice in the end, but when I think what could have happended it makes my shudder and sick to my stomach.

Thank you, Princeton, but I had the day of the week wrong.  It will be a Saturday.  Does that change anything?

The Penn Station/train sounds interesting.  We might do that.  I went to Carmel's web page and it had a price

of $52 from MCT to EWR, but did not include tolls or taxes???  Would that run it up that much, up to $85-90?

  16. As far as the aft I think you will be fine.  We just returned on the 13th from the Sunrise, and that Friday was pretty rocky onboard( think the sea sick bags were posted by elevators) , we had two ports cancelled because of Melissa.  We had an aft balcony on 7  and yes we felt some rocking, but when we went to the Limelight lounge for bingo that day, the rocking was pretty bad, in fact by the time the games were over my daughter said lets get back, to the back  where  its not so rocky.

As said before, download the Carmel app.

Am a native NYCer and have been using them for years and have never been disappointed.

You set the time and date and location, and they are there at your location five

minutes before. They will call you when they are there.

You can select type of car or SUV and type of payment.

Their drivers surpass the quality found in Uber.

after using them I have to disagree.  Total bad experience.  Just FYI I was not looking for reimbursement of my ride, but that what was communicated to me.  I just wanted an apology and for them to be concerned however that has not happened.

My daughter and I were booked on a Canada New England cruise leaving from the Brooklyn Cruise Pier. we were flying in a day early to spend some time in the city. I booked Carmel on high recommendations from many others. I booked three transfers with them. From LGA to our Times Square hotel, from our hotel to Red Hook Cruise port, and when we returned from our cruise from the pier to JFK. I understand it is NYC, but these were not cheap bookings. I did have Carmel cash to use $6.00 off each trip, so not too ad for NYC. Our first journey went pretty well, there were several streets blocked for some reason or another. He apologized and I told him not a problem we did get to see some of the city. However, he did not apply my Carmel cash and when I inquired about it, he told me next trip, although my account says I can use it from the airport to destination, then I have another for any rip and another to the airport. I didn't argue and left it go.

However here is where it gets interesting for our pickup from hotel to cruise port. I went ahead and but our next ride on my credit card so I wouldn’t have to dal with paying after our trip, I included a nice tip with it. S everything was prepaid for the trip to the port. First off I received a text about 8:40 that our ride was there and waiting, we were not scheduled until 9 so I called dispatch and they told me he was still 10 minutes away, so why I got the previous text I do not know. We were waiting out front of our hotel before 9 and our ride arrived. . when he got out, he looked at our standard sized luggage and said oh you have big ones. Now this car was the same size as the car that picked up the previous day. We also had two small carryon types. he couldn't fit them in although they had all fit the day before. May daughter literally had to load the luggage in the trunk. I got in the car while she finished and so did the driver. She was getting into the car and one of her bags spilled on the seat , we were both picking up the items when the driver took off with my daughter half in and half out of the car. she had to literally run alongside of the car with half her body in it. We had to yell several times for the driver to stop and finally he did , he said oh I thought you said to go. What type of driver does not make sure his passengers are securely in his vehicle? He didn’t apologize just muttered in a foreign language. Just lucky there wasn’t any cars parked at the curb that she would have run into, or that she didn’t slip under the car and get ran over. This could have been a very bad tragedy, all because of his negligence. We then proceeded onto our destination, the cruise sip was very apparent and in view when we arrived, however our driver had no idea where he was going. We were in some creepy alleyway with warehouses that appeared to be abandon, my daughter looked at me and I looked at her. We really wondered where he was taking us. I spoke up and said we need to be over there at the cruise ship, again he wound around and around not knowing where to go. He finally figured it out and we arrived. At that point he did ask my daughter if she was ok.

I immediately filed a complaint via email with Carmel, I received a generated email back saying they were looking into it and would get back to me. Well 96 hours had passed and I had not heard anything, we happened to be in a port where I had cell service, so I phone the representative was very sympathetic and said oh you should receive your money back, I will send it to his supervisor, but due to the extreme circumstances you should receive you trip refunded. Unfortunately, tropical storm Melissa appeared, so we never made it to another port and did not see land again until Sunday the 13th. I did have another email that they were looking into it.

Today Monday the14th I received a call stating that they would give me the drivers insurance information and I should file a police report since my daughter was almost hurt. To me this made no sense at all. I told them this and said this happened over a week ago and you want me to file a police report, she said yes you will need it for his insurance. Again, I said this makes no sense, and I said there is no refund and she said no. I then said I would write bad reviews and was going to dispute the charge with my credit card company. After all they did not perform their service properly. She said let me talk to another supervisor and call you back. She called back around half an hour later, she stated they could refund the tip, and send me a coupon for $10.00 off my next ride with them. I said really that is what you are offering me after you said the trip would be refunded. First off, I am not riding with you again, that should be obvious especially since I cancelled our pick from the port back to JFK so that does me no good at all. She said I know, but that is all that they will do since you did receive the service. I said received subpar service and that is not what I paid for, so I am going to dispute the charges and leave bad reviews for you on whatever I am a member of including Trip Advisor, Cruise Critic and many cruise Facebook groups. I told her that had come highly recommended and I received very poor service. Have disputed this with my credit card company.

Well, there's an idea. We will all have to cruise together and whenever your DW or I have to stand on line, you will have to be in front of us or behind us.  I have just never been able to tell people off.  So there you have it, folks.  Anyone sees me on a ship, go ahead and relax on a lounge chair reading your book, have a drink....heck, play a round of Black Jack if you want, then just get right in front of me who has been waiting on line for 30 minutes to get a turkey sandwich!  I will be on Sunrise on October 6th.  I fully intend to have a wonderful cruise whether the lines are short, long, or longer than they were short a few seconds before!!!

Karen, I will be on your cruise, although I am only 5'4" and a lady I have no problem telling someone off that does me wrong( embarrasses my daughter ) so come find me and stand in line with me!!  Come to the meet and greet for Cruise critic Did you  sign up?

Glad we don't have to worry about that now. I feel bad for the people that booked hotels and made plans based on sailing out of Manhattan. I also feel bad for those that have never sailed from Manhattan and will not get the full sail away experience of sailing down the Hudson River. :classic_cool:

That's the only thing that makes me feel bad, I have never been to NYC let alone sailed out of her.  Was so looking forward of sailing on the Hudson past the Statue of Liberty.  We have our hotel booked in Manhattan and has been since last October, I believe we are going to stick with it as there is more to see and do and we are coming in on Saturday morning.
