If what you say is true, then as a B2B er, we have no worries. I have a feeling that once she switches over to Brooklyn she'll be there for the remainder of her season here in NYC. :classic_cool:

I am on the October 6th cruise and we received an email today that we are also leaving out of Brooklyn, in fact it had for cruise dates 9/22/201, 9/29/2019, and 10/06/2019 on the letterhead.

  2. Thank you so much!!! I will do so.  We were looking at hotels last night. I know it’s a bit soon however we booked out NYC hotel a year in advance for our upcoming New England/Canada cruise and the price has risen considerably since booking

You may want to look at flights from Toronto (YYZ).  I live in central OH and flying from Columbus to Barcelona in 2015 was $1200.  The flights from Toronto to BCN were just over $600.  It was a 7 hour drive for us to Toronto.  With 4 people we saved over $2000 by making the drive.  You are probably a couple of hours closer to Toronto than we are.

I'm looking at flights this fall from CMH to AMS and BCN to CMH on the return. The cost is between $1400-1500 from CMH.  From Toronto it is $800 RT.

Thank you so much- yes we are closer 5 hours and 46 minutes is wht google maps tell me, another plus I have a nephew that lives in Toronto.  We will definitely look into this, because no matter what we are 2 hours from Columbus, 2.5 hours from Detroit, so what is a little bit more time to drive to save money!!

Your mention of each way makes me think you might be searching for 2 one-way flights, which is the worst think you can do in terms of cost. You will almost always be better searching for a round-trip ticket, even if you have different arrival and departure cities; in that case, search for open-jaw itineraries.

In terms of general advice regarding searching for flights, the more flexible you are the easier it will be to find a good price. Using ITA Matrix, you can search using different airport combinations. Also, considering that your cruise is over a year out, you can also look at what frequent-flyer mile options you can have (I once acquired 125,000 miles in 4 months - all through credit card sign-up bonuses).

Yes that is what we were doing, have since found out we can do a round trip-thank you so much

  5. Thanks you to all who responded.  cruise is not until Aug 31 o 2020, so I know air fares are not out this far in advance.  I realize they could jump in the next several months.  Sorry guess I shuld have included details  We would be flying into Copenhagen and our cruise ends at Southhampton.  Liek i said it is a ways away and we do have the cruise on hold.  I did stop and talk to a TA here in town also she gave me some suggestions also.  We were seing 1200-1500 each way.  We live in NW Ohio so even if we have to take a connecting flight to New York, or drive to Indy or Detroit  that is also an option

  6. Really want to do  a European cruise, however I am finding flight prices to be more than the cruise.  Am I really being that naïve or am I missing something when looking for flights.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance

  7. I have taken a plate of food to show lounge, Punchliner, etc.

I am a neat eater, I cleaned up after myself and never left a mess. I carried my napkin-covered plate out of the venue. More times tan not, a friendly crew member offered to take it for me.

Lucky you-we tried to take our dessert in to the comedy club no vista and we were turned away, even though people were bringing popcorn in-I was told that was allowed but not dessert, because it made a mess. I questioned them how a dessert would make more of a mess than a sticky drink getting spilled(which I have seen) or smashed popcorn-they said they didn't know.

  8. Just received a call from Carnival Corporate regarding our FTTF for next year's cruise - they just wanted to confirm that we still wanted it, and re-booked it for us. Have a feeling this will happen to all current reservations - no need to rebook on your own :)

Yes I got the call also today and rebooked it

  10. Is there a limit to how many you're able to get in a day?

I believe so! Last week when I wanted to it off cruise I was only allowed 2 if each denomination per 24 hours on AARP. Allstate didn’t seem to have a limit as I bought 3 100 ones at a time

  11. Well now you do. Call Nationwide or InsureMyTrip. There was even someone on here that had this insurance and said she made the claim and she was called a liar seven ways to Sunday. She got her money. Wish I remember who it was so I can find out whether to file now or later. You can see that prepaid Shore Excursions are a separate benefit.

I don't know if I am the person that you are referring to but yes my daughter and I had coverage through Nationwide. We had the middle of the road policy. We had a change inn itinerary last October due to Hurricane Matthew. Yes I filed a claim and yes we both received $750.00 back because of it. We had to show proof of when cruise was booked, payments made, and the letter from carnival. I emailed everything and after about 2 weeks we each had a check.

In fact when Key West was damaged the other week, my dear darling daughter got her hopes up we were again going to benefit from this coverage, as we are scheduled to go there Nov.14th. But alas they opened back up, I told her not to get her hoeps up. We applied our money to a cruise on Vista this coming March. Couldn't wait that long to cruise again so doing another short one in November.

As far as when to file I would now, that is what I was going to do if they would have cancelled Key West for our November one.

I actually called the number on the policy and they gave me a case number to use.

  12. We're on the Vista out of Miami March 10, 2018, and I haven't been able to find anything under "Manage My Cruise" about check-in times. I don't see anything on the left side of the page that even refers to it. I looked at "details" and it just says boarding time 12:30 - 3 PM. What am I missing?

We are on the March 4th sailing and ours just opened yesterday or late Tuesday. I had been checking multiple times a day.

  13. Those of you asking insurance questions for the Carnival gift cards, we really should break this out to a separate thread but here goes.

I have a Nationwide cruise insurance plan paid for our upcoming January cruise. I called Nationwide and asked specifically. (If my cruise insurance plan gets cancelled in the next week, I will let you know as well)

The nice lady on the phone explained it to me:

As long as you have receipts for payments made, and receipts for your gift cards Nationwide does not care how you paid. Only that you paid and what you paid. So if your cruise insurance was for $1500 per person and your cruise was $1350 per person and you only paid $1200 via gift cards with a discount, then you will only get $1200 back. But it is considered a form of legitmate payment. Your claim will not be denied because you used gift cards. At least not through Nationwide Cruise Insurance.

    Hope this helps.

Nationwide will pay out if you use gift cards. although I did not have to cancel my cruise. We did have a change in itinerary last October because of Hurricane Matthew. The change was made before we sailed, which is covered by Nationwide. I did have to send in extensive paperwork, which included proof from Carnival that the port was cancelled. How much my cruise was, proof of payments made. So in the case of the portion paid for with GC I printed off from Verizon where it showed the CG purchased, and then my CC statements that showed that purchase. sent it all in and within 2 weeks , both my daughter and I had a check for $750.00 for missed port.( more than our cruise cost, but that was the coverage I chose).
