I had to check to make sure this wasn't MY post. I agree with every word in your post. There is NOTHING on the bathroom counters. Toothbrush is in a glass in the medicine chest. The dresser is free of clutter. Clothes are not strewn around. They are either in the closet on a hanger or in the zip lock bag in the suitcase for dirty clothes and it's done as we wear them, not at the end of the cruise. I can't stand even looking in when the doors are open on the cabins because of the messes they leave. It is disgusting to see how some people expect the cabin steward to even get into the room with the landfill they have turned the cabin into.
Agree with both posts!!
I don't hide my toothbrush but keep it covered and put away at home and on vacation.

Rraider, thanks for a great review. We are sailing NAV on 8/24 and doing that same itinerary. Do you have any comments about the ports? We've done lots of trips on RCI but Roatan and Belize are new to us. Would love to hear any feedback about what you did, liked (or didn't).
I do have a question about parking and luggage. We are in North La and will be driving down, I think the night before. I have made reservations at the EZ Cruise parking place, and I seem to remember reading somewhere that you can drive up to the terminal and drop off your luggage, then go park your car and walk back to the terminal. Is this the case? Any details about that appreciated.
Thanks again!
We have used EZ cruise many times with numbers ranging from 2-18 passengers. You can definately drop your luggage off before parking. We have done it both ways.
Walking from EZ cruises "home" parking lot that is typically used for 7 day cruisers looks doable, and I've seen it done. Personally I think its too hard to be cute while dodging excited drivers trying to get the port :D:p.
If you end up in their other lot, I doubt you will want to hike that far. We have never had to wait very long to be transported to or from the terminal.
Be sure to sign up for their email alerts. They are always sending out $5 and $10 off coupons for customers that reserve online.
Whatever you decide to do I think you will be happy with choosing EZ Cruise.

I vote for Carnival Breeze. You will have a good time, and will find plenty of things to like if you go with the intention of having a good time.
Maybe you can save the difference in price for a down payment on the Oasis in the cabin you want.
I LOVED the Oasis! I usually prefer inside rooms but decided to do a boardwalk balcony. All, I can say is when I go on the Allure, boardwalk balcony here I come! :D

We are always up bright and early, like around 11-11:30 AM.
We're night owls on vacation so we usually stay out until 2-3 AM and then sleep in unless we are in port and want to get off the ship earlier. Even then it's like 9 AM that we wake up.
LIKE! You are my kind of person. I'm glad to know there are others like me. I don't wake up until 8:30 am on work days, no way I want get up early on vacation. Since I'm not a big breakfast fan, waking up in time for lunch works great. :D

Like! Kind and helpful suggestion.
Found a whole bunch of pretty dresses at Kohl's online. These are all short but can do maxi. DDs wear jersey knit dresses. They can also wear the same dress twice. Good time to teach them about changing the look with accessories;) -
We have ZERO booked right now and I'm beginning to get the shakes.
I understand. I only have one booked now and it is 4 months away. The two cruises I did in January seem like so long ago.....:(
I've got my eye on two for 2016.
-
I would only consider it, if you got a really good rate and lived close to the port.
I loved the Oasis. Seven days wasnt enough time for me to do it all.

My passport has my maiden name (first name, middle name, last name). *renewed the same way after being married for 10 years. This is the name I use on a daily basis.
My driver's liscence has first name, maiden name, married last name. I always book under the name on my passport. I have been on 15 cruises with no problems. Just in case, I always bring a state issued, miniature copy of our wedding certificate.
It may also help that I have a unique first name....

There is a website, but we're not allowed to post it for some reason (I've never figured out why since it's not selling cruises). Google "cruise price alerts" and you should find it with a little fishing. :)Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Too cute. Thank you!

Not sure if the option is available on Norwegian.....but I was able to change rooms twice after booking a guaranteed neighborhood balcony on the Oasis for January 2014. I was initially offered a central park balcony and then had my TA move us to a boardwalk balcony. Several weeks later I noticed a cabin that was closer to the aqua theater and moved again.
I was VERY happy with my cabin, especially since the cost to change from my origianlly booked neighborhood view room was only $50. As long as I stayed in the same category, there was no problem changing cabins. I plan to do it again. :)

We also self insure for the cost of the trip but never scrimp on medical. I pay $165 for an annual policy for the 4 of us.
Once on vacation to Florida about 9 years ago my son cut his finger. A trip to the ER and a follow up visit the bill was over $1500. Can't imagine having to deal with anything more serious.
Would you mind sharing the company you use? I have been looking for a comprehensive "annual" policy so I don't have to purchase it for each trip.
I know first hand how a little accident can lead to BIG medical bills. BCBS and AFLAC accident policy were life style savers. Greatfully, I was blessesd to be injured in the states on a land vacation. I cringe when thinking how much it would have cost if it had happened while cruising out of the country. Most people don't think about costs of therapy, lost time from work, etc. when they think about illness and injuries. It can add up fast!
Accidents can and do happen to people of all ages.
Thank you!

Too funny! I will be in Conway for a Student Success Symposium next week.

We are from the same area. We live in Hope, AR. We sail in April and can't wait.
Small world! I sometimes teach Sociology on the UACCH campus in Hope. This semester I am teaching 2 classes on the Texarkana campus.
Even though I cruised twice in January, I can hardly wait for October :D
-
My daughter is 32. She lives in Austin. My son is 35 and lives in Houston. The rest of our bunch live in Texarkana. They are all single.
Sorry to hijack this wonderful review but wanted to say hello from another Texarkanan who loves to cruise. We will be on NOS in October. This will be my seconded sailing on her. I'm looking forward to seeing how she has changed.
Does anyone know if Johnny Rockets has a happy hour like they have on the Oasis?
Happy sailing!
-
Do all of the Johhny Rockets have a Happy Hour? On the Oasis it was 1/2 price from 6-9pm (or something close to that). This is a good option for those who only want a select item or are light eaters.

It is not really seventies music. It is disco music. The music of seventies included some of the best and worse of popular music. But what RCL does is a disco night. I like the tradition but I am not married to it. If they changed it, I would not feel a loss. I prefer the Schooner piano bar to seventies night anyway. :)
I especially liked out of Galveston the Adult Day Care Kamikaze Karaoke that was on board on certain sailings. Derek Lewis knew how to make it fun. At some point, I hope he can return to RCL out of Galveston.
I loved Derek. I still have my ring, tshirt and CD. :D

Sure, it is a lot of fun, but more and more cruisers are people in their mid 20's-40's and young families who may connect more with an 80's themed party than a 70's themed party? I think times are passing by those interested in the 70's party and it may be due for an update at the very least to mix it up a bit. The 70's party is well done, but I just think an 80's party would get more people in their 40's and under more energized. Opinions?
Totally agree!

We have cabin 11709 in June, so we are 2 decks up starboard side. Im dying to know about the view, and if I should keep trying to get further aft. Glad you had a great time!
Not sure about deck 11 in regards to noise from zip line and rock climbing wall when you are higher and further aft. The shows would definately be louder. I could see most of the aqua theater show while sitting down.
Either way, the rock climbing wall close between 6-7 pm.

Would love to see pictures of this view! Always wondered what it would be like to have a boardwalk balcony...I too have been concerned about the opposite facing balconies.
I will try to post pics tomorrow. The view was beautiful.
-
I have always been concerned about Boardwalk and Central Park rooms as you are completely looked on by the people opposite... How did you find this on your cruise?
It was never a problem. The view and activities are more exciting to look at than someone eating, reading, etc. Even stranger, I rarely saw people looking up from the boardwalk.
I only saw one half dressed lady across from us on the first night. I guess someone told her they could see her wearing just a thong  :). Never saw the couple again anywhere.
-
So glad you had a great cruise!
Did you have a view of the ocean from your room?
Yes! We could see the ocean and the aqua theater. For me, the view was much more interesting than an oveanview balcony.
-
We loved the Oasis and Cabin 9309.
Our trip was so great I'm not even bothered that our flight is 3 hours behind and counting......yet;)
If you have questions, feel free to ask.

I've been on 7 cruises and I've gotten sick on all of them about 4 days into them. Statistically that's almost impossible. Severe nausea and dry vomiting. I've ruled out seasickness and alcohol as the problem. I'm wondering if the climate change has something to do with it, yet I don't get sick when it's extremely hot at home in Iowa, or Florida. Only in the Caribbean. My wife is threatening to just stop cruising if I'm going to be sick for the last 2 or 3 days of every cruise. Anyone else have this problem or know what to do about it?
Not sure why you get sick....... but I understand and sympathize with you. I love cruising but always bring home a "souvenir rash". Not sure why, but I'm 12 for 12  The rashes range from minor to severe enough to have to have steroidal shots and/or creams. I've tried all types of preventive measures.
They are a pain, literally, but I've got cruising fever and can't help myself. :)

We were on the Oasis in January 2014. We LOVED it! Our cabin was on the 8th deck also. The boardwalk balcony room was wonderful. I loved being able to people watch, see the water shows and the ocean.
Our cabin was right across from Johnny Rockets. We ate breakfast there one morning. It was free but they give you a slip to sign with a place for tipping. They were never busy......too much competition I guess.
We ate dinner one night during happy hour. I think happy hour was from 5-8. During happy hour it was 1/2 price cover charge or 2 for 1. I just know we paid the equivalent of one cover charge.
