  1. I picked cabin 12103 because it looked like a larger balcony. Does this one have a larger balcony? Any obstruction or privacy issue I should be aware of?

    TIA

We were in 12087 and we loved that location. I checked the deck plans and it looks like your cabin has a slightly bigger balcony as it is right on the cusp of the bump (therefore giving you a tiny bit of curve). The next 3 forward from yours up to the one we were in, have bigger balconies.

As for obstructions or privacy, you should not experience any issues at all.

    Have a great trip!

  2. Way to early but possible.

We usually cruise the first week of October and will be doing our first NCL Feb 2013 so if the stars align themselves properly definitely a possibility

Typically, when our group cruises in the fall, we do last week of Oct or first week of Nov...although it's not set in stone.

    :)

I just took a peek. Epic is in Europe in Oct 2013, but will start it's Eastern Caribbean Run on Nov 2.

The first or second run once back in Miami would probably work for us. I just don't want to sail during Thanksgiving week or have to fly home close to it:eek::D:D

Epic is such a cool ship, let's try to make this work!

BTW, sorry that your wonderful review is being used for planning purposes but since you are involved, I guess it is OK. LOL!!!!

  3. :D :D Seriously?????

Good. I'll buy a FCC on my upcoming and ease my dh into this.... :p

    wooohooo!!!!

Do you have a time in mind (month, week??) I have to start recruiting people!!! :D

Absolutely serious! I haven't really decided on month or date yet but I know it WILL be in late 2013.

Let's do it!!!! Think we can convince Don, Tom and Cheryl for another go?

  4. It depends on the ship. Jewel class mini-suites have a tub if I'm not mistaken. About half of Epic mini-suites have tubs, the rest have larger showers. I'm not sure we know much about the Breakaway bathrooms yet. From the renderings we've seen there is no tub.

The family mini suites on the Breakaway will have tubs.

    From NCL's website:

These Mini-Suites sleep up to four guests and are perfect if you’re traveling with the kids. They’re just a hop, skip and a jump away from our youth and kids’ area and they have the added convenience of a sofa bed and a bathtub. Parents get to enjoy a king-size bed. Hang out with the gang and enjoy the view from your own private balcony. There are also many connecting staterooms.

  5. Hahaha..felt the same way. Thanks OP for the pictures. Great memories!

The more time passes since my cruise, the more I realize how amazing the ship truly is. I am even thinking of doing the Eastern, yet again (ugh, the thought of Nassau o n e more time ...:( ), just so I can sail on her again:)

It would be a done deal if she was doing a Western itinerary though (anyone in NCL listening? Anyone???? Please???).

Thanks again OP for the trip down memory lane!

  6. where was your room? We hardly had any movement at all in 14022, even in weather bad enough to keep us from docking in Costa Maya

We were in 12087 so not really that far from you, just a little lower. I can't explain it but the ship really moved a lot during my cruise. Maybe there was more going on with the seas than I was aware of (the ship channel never seemed to work either for that matter).

Personally I like to know I'm on a ship so it was OK with me but it was never smooth.

  7. The flat iron steak must be really hit or miss because when I read all of these shoe leather comments I just shake my head. It was one of my favourite meals onboard the night I ordered it. I had read to not ask for it to be cooked beyond medium and thankfully I like my meat cooked medium rare so it was just fine.

I will most likely try it again on my next Carnival sailing just to make sure it wasn't a fluke:);)

  8. Bravo Mike for another much needed thread about balconies on the Epic!! I have no doubt this will help many a future cruiser.

I do wish that there wasn't the need for both of your awesome balcony threads though as inhull and exposed balconies are NOT unique to the Epic. But from some comments made over the last year and a bit this ship has been in service, one might begin to think it is so:rolleyes:

    Thanks Mike!
