IDK about others but I can't even login to Princess. I am using the correct credentials. It is so frustrating to have to fight the various obstacles Princess constructs to get anything done. I don't see what the issue is, Internet access to accounts has been around a long time and not just on Princess. By the time I am able to login, all the tables will be reserved 🙂

That's good, but they need to play better. Maybe getting complacent???

Yeah, we had X link them but then 3 people dropped out. Then one of the others still on the cruise linked them again. Maybe the ship does make a difference, I just don't know. I don't know why it should and I also think X doesn't have the best software running in their app or their website. I'll just wait until we board and see what I can do--and maybe remind them that if their software/app ran better this wouldn't be necessary 😉 I do know I don't have these problems on Princess but I know others do. I wonder how the apps decide who will be granted full access and who won't? 😃

That's interesting. The others in our group also tried to reserve a table but they said all they saw was table after 8 pm, none for the earlier times. But we are on the Eclipse departing 9/20 and returning 10/11. I tried doing it online and had no luck, so then I tried using the app. I couldn't even get as far as seeing what times were available. When I called to do it, the agent told me it was because it was a Group reservation which I assumed was due to moving a booking to a big box store. But our friends also had trouble and they all boked direct with X. I still can't figure it out, although we did link our reservations, theoretically to help with booking tables for dinner. Oh well, so much for that plan!

It's funny you said that. The others in our group think we should unlink the reservations since linking them doesn't seem to help! Everyone was getting very nervous about this, so I reminded them that we had Select dining and could show up whenever we want and just wait. Or go to the buffet. I also reminded them that if we show up a little earlier than 6, we might get in faster. We would still be eating after 6 by the time they get us drinks, take orders, and serve us.

Yes, this was my plan, thanks for the confirmation. They are linked but when I called the agent and Captains Club person said we couldn't book a table because we were on a group reservation. I assumed that meant that because I booked thru a big box seller, I was in a group. But the others boked direct with X and when they tried to reserve a table, they also ran into problems. We talked it over and everyone decided they liked the flexibility of Select dining, especially since we weren't sure when we would be getting back from tours. And there is a reasonable chance we will want to use the buffet sometimes. So, we decided Select would be best. Thanks for your thoughts, very helpful. It's sort of sad--the others are new to cruising and to X. I don't think this is making them into X fans.

Yeah, that should give you plenty of time to build up your leg and ankle. Maybe try riding a bike before you go too. That's a low impact activity that will still let you build strength and stamina. I have a new knee issue, so walking is hard but I can ride my bike with a lot less pain! You can probably rent bikes in both SF and DC. That might be another way to deal with any remaining pain. Although, lots of hills in SF 🙂

OP, we feel your pain. We are a group of 6 on Eclipse in late Sept/early October. I tried all the same things and made the same progress! I have resigned myself to trying to talk to someone at he MDR when we board and try and work it out. We have Select dining, so we may just get in line when we're ready and take our chances. I'm don't understand why X makes it so hard to book a table. It's a real pain. Does anyone know which DR we should go to to get help? It seems like I've always seen someone doing this but maybe by the buffet???

That's a lot to see, sounds like fun! Hope your tendon is fully healed for that trip--lots of walking. SF has some great spots to see--Lombard Street, Chinatown, the old Ferry Terminal, Alcatraz and more. DC too, no lack of things to see and do there. You can get to many of the sites using the metro but some still involve some walking. Pace yourselves!

Wow, saga indeed! It's always hard when you don't heal as expected and have to undergo even more treatment. We will be in Japan in April, on Princess. We could have been shipmates! Where in the US will you be in September--anywhere near Albuquerque? I doubt it but if you are in the neighborhood, we'd love to see you. But we leave Sept 18 for Michigan and then on to Boston for a Canada/NE cruise. Sounds like the recovery is going well, I hope it continues and you are all healed soon.

Glad the Swans held on. They have been in a lot of games that are close and/or they are slow to start. Maybe they need to feel some danger of losing before they get serious? 😉

This must be some new strategy the Swans have developed--start slow, lull the other side into thinking they have it in the bag, then strike 😁 It seems to be working, so OK with me. Thanks for posting Mic. We get one game a week here but never the Swans 😞 Go Swans!

I see others were faster than me to answer, which is great. That's actually good because I wasn't sure of the answer! But, we got 128 points and took the 16 night package; we were in a Sky suite. So, that's 8 points each night. Only got us to Select, good for you if that get's you to elite and diamond.👍👍

Just noticed you also asked abut guides. Our guides were terrific. Took care of everything, if we needed anything they helped and if we didn't want to do something, they had no problem with us staying on the bus or waiting somewhere along the way, to be picked up when the group passed on the way back.

We did the Flora and Macchu Picchu add-on last July and the hotels we stayed at were 5 star. Really nice and our breakfast and dinners were included. I wish I could remember the names of the hotels. The one in Cusco was an old monastery, the one in Ollantaytambo was on a river, small patios with nice views of the water and there was a walking trail alongside the river. No matter which you pick, you will love it!

You are being very nice to them! That sure was a bad quarter! When I read the 1st email from you with the scoring, I thought ,uh oh the Sans are in in trouble. But then I read the rest of your posts and I calmed down! Could this be the Swans year? What's the chatter down under? Are the fans onboard or do they think this is a fluke?

OMG!! I saw the first post about the lopsided-score and thought we were doomed! But then, a comeback and it's all good😃 Thanks Mic for posting and for telling me where the Swans stand. Maybe there is hope but why did they fall so far behind?? I won't believe it until they are in the GF!!

Hmm, I wonder if we'll get to see that. It would be at a good time for us!

This took me by surprise--it sems like they played on an earlier day than usual? Happy to hear the Swans are still in 1st. I'll have to go look at the standings. We are still getting one game each week, usually on Saturday. It's never the Swans though <sigh>. I sure hope they keep it up. Thanks for the update.

I hoped I could see the game tonight, but alas, all we get is Port vs Hawks. Thanks to everyone keeping me up to date on what is happening. Swans in 1st!! Wow, I didn't see this coming.

OMG, this would be great fun! How do I become a Member? Can I? It says you don't have to be a Member to enjoy the fun but there must be some special perks for Members???? I am sooo jealous. Thanks Mic, something else I can feel I missed out on 😁😉
