    Who is the Concierge?

  2. Wasn't David just filling in for Adrian?

Not necessarily. The current staffing protocols of the entire NCL fleet are undergoing major changes and no one knows for sure when, where or how it will end.

Both David and Adrian ARE Concierges. In the past, there was a set schedule for each catagory of management staff with so many months ON and so many months OFF. So, two Concierges (or other positions) might share a ship half time & half time. But, there would be regular periods of a month or so when neither regular Concierge was aboard. That would allow for a temporary fill in from a possible try out for Concierge.

The past is no longer a prologue to the future since the new Del Rio management plan and style has no attachment to past practice.

I've enjoyed the services of both Adrian & David and I'm unable to understand or agree with your less than positive commentary on David.

Perhaps we should get the thread away from rating opinions of on board staff and back on the topic of identifying who's on board.

  3. Interesting opinion. I've sailed NCL's smaller ships and' date=' most recently, the Getaway and Escape. We typically interact with the Concierge frequently. On this cruise aboard Escape, we were in a Deluxe Owners Suite. I left two requests for David to contact me. Nada. Lilibeth was very helpful, yes, but I opted not to do a birthday surprise for my grandson when David didn't respond to a second request to discuss.[/quote']

Like you, we enjoyed the amenities of the Escape's Deluxe Owner's Suite.

In addition, we have booked Suite service with NCL 23 times and balconies twice.

So, we pretty much understand the ins and outs of the Concierge program.

Was there something about the planning of a birthday surprise for your grandson that required the Concierge's personal attention that could not be provided by his staff and caused you to cancel the surprise?

If so, you should email the Escape's Concierge and advise David Contreras of your disappointment, while he is still aboard.

  4. Good to know! Thanks for the info...;). How does it work on smaller ships...ie Gem....?. just curious..

The smaller ships (Sky, Sun, Dawn) just have the Concierge.

The medium Ships (Jewel Class) have a Concierge usually with an assistant.

The Mega ships (Epic, Breakaway, Getaway, Escape) have a Concierge plus 2 or 3 assistants (epending on how full the bookings)

Also, bear in mind that the Suite Butlers report to the Concierge not Housekeeping Director or Hotel Director.

  5. We SERIOUSLY missed Adrian on our 2/20/16 cruise. We met David upon boarding' date=' with a large group of other Haven guests. Never saw him again. Anything I needed, I went to the ladies at the Haven Concierge desk (THANK YOU, LILIBETH!). Never had a concierge ignore us before.[/quote']

Perhaps you are not familiar with the staffing protocols of NCL's mega ships.

When dealing with "the ladies at the Haven Concierge desk", you were dealing with David Contreras's personal staff. The mega ships are so large and that providing Concierge service to Haven & Non Haven Suite guests, and all Platinum guests requires the Concierge to have a staff of 2 or 3 Assistant Concierges. If you were pleased the the services of the "ladies", then you were pleased with David Contreras. From personal experience, I know David to be among the top 3 Concierges in the Fleet.

  6. Lies, lies, I tell you. It's all being done on a sound stage, with smoke and mirrors. :p

Someone stop me before I join he who shall not be named.

I've done some in depth research and met with several senior officers of the Illuminati.

I have learned that one of their secret sub-societies named: Fantasy Films produced the work: "The life and death of the Costa Concordia."

They consider this work the crown jewel in their Tiara of Achievements.

Which over the years, has included: "American Astronauts on the Moon", "The JFK Assasination", "Alice in Wonderland", and "Yes, Viriginia, there is a Santa Claus"

  7. Hello Peeps ... Still some major names still here I see ... :) managed to get up to date on the posts and the pictures and links provided by you guys.

I notice in the last two pictures that they have removed the ship name from the bow.

I recorded a tv programme on Thursday night on BBC Alba UK about the parbuckle and the family of Maria who was one of the last two people still missing, having not watched it yet though I did catch the last few minutes at the end while on air that showed a hole somewhere towards the bow on the starboard side. No idea if anyone else has seen this programme ? when I have time to watch it I will check to see where the hole is located.

Uni ... how is Mrs Uni ? All fixed now I hope.

papcx ... Our team not doing too good!

    Hi Syd

Sharon Rae (and I) have put our medical issues to rest and are looking forward to great Spring cruises. We're doing the RCI Brilliance 15 day Trans Atlantic from Tampa to Barcelona followed by 12 days round trip Barcelona to Italy (RCI not Costa LOL)

  8. I saw it, but I've never been able to get it to open. From the title, it sounds like the monster, articulated, floating hotel that someone started a thread about on the HAL board. Just like all the floating city ideas out there, ain't gonna happen. No one has that much money.

Kinda like that. But, it's a palace built on a navigable oil rig.

    Try this alternate link:

  9. Ok so why is this being discussed again four years to the date later? Why you keep beating a dead horse? This is not the forum for this. Go to Italy and bring up your case there. Trolling this forum does nothing because nobody here wants to discuss conspiracy theories and "facts" based on far-fetched assumptions that even you admit may not be correct. Every and I mean EVERY SINGLE failure prediction you have made on the salvage operation has been proven wrong. Why should I believe in anything you say?

You, I and 99% of the posters on this thread completely disagree with this guy. But, he is not attempting to hijack this thread and censorship is inapporopritate. If we don't reply or respond, he will eventually disappear into the fog of a mind in need of medication.

  10. Ha Ha Ha .............

Welcome to Cruise Critic Comedy Central.

I haven't had such a good time since we discussed Captain Schittino and his Moravian lap dancer.

The Captain and his supporters are gifts that just keeps on giving.

    Ha ha Ha ..................

    PS

Don't forget Genoa, Italy is only 500 miles from Carcasonne, France.

Carcasonne was the headquarters of the Cathar Heresy, the secrets of the Knights Templar, and the Illuminatti.

Be very careful, they are watching this thread.
