    Welcome to Europe!

If you insist on private transfers then you will pay a lot.

Public transport is both effecient and inexpensive, however if you have a lot of baggage you will have problems.

The train to Rotterdam leaves from the station underneath Schiphol airport.  It is a quick, reliable and inexpensive way to get there.  If you are staying in Amsterdam itself pre cruise, then the train leaves from Centraal Station.

There are no baggage cars, no porters and you must lift your bags onto the train yourself.  But it is inexpensive.

    Helpful!! Thank you!

  2. I recently booked my first HAL cruise (on the Rotterdam) after many on Royal and 1 on NCL.  I chose the category that is an unobstructed balcony (it was about $100 pp more than obstructed)  but did opt to let them choose my room in that category since it was an additional $300 pp for me to choose.  Do you think my worst case scenario then is a connecting room?  I'm ok with being near an elevator and also with being anywere fwd/aft/mid.  I don't know much at all about the Rotterdam and am now in full research mode.  🙂  I booked the particular sailing I did because it stops in Lerwick in the Shetland Islands.

    Thanks!!

When you book a cruise to Hawaii and it gets canceled what do you do?  Yes! Go to Alaska!  Makes sense.  I am leaving 91° , feels like 101° weather to where I will be lucky to see temperatures above 55°!  🥶 My body does not handle below 55° weather well.  Should I be doing this? As I am typing the Jackson 5 started singing, "Got to Be There"…. 🤔

I have been following along @graphicguy  great live review.  Once he posted the ice cream machine was up and running on Ovation it got me excited.  Even though I may not visit it as much as I do in the Caribbean, I need my traditional ice cream visit.  Let’s go!

Following along on here and in real life!

  4. We did that exact Greek Isles cruise (but on Rhapsody) in November 2018.  It was amazing.  We sailed from Venice - are ships still sailing from Venice?  Kotor was the best sail in I've ever experienced - absolutely gorgeous.  We did a food/walking tour in Athens since it was our 2nd time there and we'd done all the typical sites previously.  I've got an excellent recommendation for a Corfu tour if you're interested.  And for Mykonos we just walked around on our own - its STUNNING.  We've previously done a 12 night Med from Barcelona and I totally fell in love with Barcelona - I'd like to do a whole week there!

  5. I've been searching this same info.  I bought the eMed tests to bring with us but would also like a backup option like Walgreens.  One question - everything about the Walgreens option says "drive-thru only".  We won't have a car for the duration of our time in Seattle.  Can we just book a drive-thru appt and then walk in?  Has anyone done that?

Cruises have not been sailing to Canada, that is the uncertainty.  Canada just released their requirements and for ships sailing to Alaska roundtrip from Seattle, this requirement is going to be a challenge.  Most of those sailing don't visit Victoria until day 7, so everyone will need to be tested on the ship as our boarding covid tests will be too soon to fulfil the Canadian requirement.  The excursion cancellations started right after Canada released their guidelines, leading many of us to wonder if our itinerary is going to change and have us visit Victoria day 2.  If this happens, our other port times will have to be adjusted, making for a lot of last minute scrambling for excursions on an itinerary that historically sells out most excursions very early.

This explanation makes the most sense of any I've seen.  Thank you.

  7. Our White Pass RR tour will put us back in Skagway at around 130pm.  Our ship is in port until 5pm.  What is there to do around town?  We'd love to get something to eat, we like trying new beers and foods and shopping at cool local places.  Is there anything in Skagway that we shouldn't miss before we get back on the ship?  Thanks!
