Great news on your clearing the List

    Quick question:

How is HAL communicating with you?  All via email?  Phone?  You must check your booking online yourself to learn what's happening?

    Thanks and Bon Voyage

I booked through my travel agent and received an email from her.

I just submitted my Federal Post Card Application for Nov. 2022 voting. (I leave Oct. 2 on the Westerdam and return on Thanksgiving so can't vote here.) It is pretty straightforward.

Go to www.FPCA.gov and follow the instructions. I'm in Texas, and we must provide a foreign address to which the ballot will be mailed, even though we also will receive it in email. My TA got me the address for the port agent in Fiji. But meanwhile, when the email comes, I will print out the ballot, fill it in, and mail it. I'll talk to the front desk about the best way to do that.

We'll be on your cruise! Luckily, in Wisconsin ballets were mailed last week, and ours have already been mailed back!

As mcrcruiser said, check the credit card you are using to book the cruise.

Our plain old Costco Citi Visa card includes coverage that would fully reimburse us for our fares if we cancel for any of the reasons that would cause us to cancel: health issues, death of anyone in our immediate family (not only the two of us who are cruising), if "the Covered Traveler’s Family Member, not traveling on the Trip, has an injury or illness that is either life threatening or requires care from the Covered Traveler(s) and is verified by a licensed medical practitioner", even a sick pet!

I suggest you check your card benefits. I believe travel insurance was eliminated several years ago:

Please note, as of September 22, 2019, trip cancellation and interruption protection is no longer provided by the Costco Anywhere Citi Visa® Card. For additional benefit information, visit Costco Anywhere Citi Visa® Card or contact a Citi® expert at 1-855-378-6467 (24 hours a day, 7 days a week).

  4. We took an Uber from Orlando to the port in December with no problem. After the cruise, we thought we would be able to walk out and get on a shuttle back to the airport, but they were not taking anyone without a prior reservation. There were no Lyft drivers available and we had to wait for an Uber. We had plenty of time, but it cost us around $90, which was more than a shuttle would have been.

We were there last Wednesday.  As a previous poster said, no pier trolly was operating.  The port shopping area has expanded significantly since we were there 2.5 years ago, but in the Mayan tongue "Costa Maya" still means "Overpriced Tacos".  IMHO, if you're not going to a beach club or to a specific Mayan site you're better off waiting on shopping and tours until you reach Cozumel... better prices, more selection, and cheaper tacos.  😁

Wed., Dec. 15th? What ship were you on? We were on the Harmony and were supposed to be in Costa Maya that day, but were told we couldn't dock because of swells at the pier.

  6. I haven't been to Del Mar, but have been to El Cid several times and enjoy their large hot tub! We get the basic $22 pass which includes $12 for food and drink (at least that's what it was precovid). We usually just get margaritas and guac, which is very good.

  7. We haven't been there post covid, but pre covid several times we spent the day at Ed Cid, which is a short walk from the international pier. For $22 or $23 per person we were able to snorkel, use the lounge chairs, the hot tub and and wifi. It also included a $12 or $13 credit for food and drink. We did not have to book this in advance, just walk up and pay when you get there. We hope to do this again on our upcoming Dec. cruise. I believe they also have a more expensive all inclusive option.

which hotel?  and cost?  might use this option ourselves!

We went to Costa Hollywood last week.  We almost didn't go because it was SUPER windy ( no beach chairs on the beach and occasional sand blasts windy), but we still opted for it over the airport. For $20 (you can reserve ahead of time or just pay when you get there) they will hold your luggage while you enjoy the 7th floor rooftop pool. There is a nice pool, big hot tub, comfortable seating, great view of the beach and ocean, WIFI, restrooms with a shower, and a large bar with food service. On a less windy day it would've been perfect. If you go down to walk along the beach, there are also lots of restaurants along the walkway.

It's pickle ball - they have the raquets and balls. It is a paddle ball sized court.  And they also have featured pickle ball events. Also table tennis at one end of the Lido. But a full tennis court at sea, no..

Good to know! FYI Some ships do have full sized (shared) courts. I think it was the NCL Sun that we played on. My lob game was curtailed by the low overhead netting though. 🙂
