  1. Curious if anyone has been upgraded shortly after boarding? If so, did you put your request in at the front desk or elsewhere?
  2. We board the Regatta in a week (out of Seattle). I love the flower bouquets available at Pike Place and have brought them aboard another cruise-line. Curious if anybody has done the same and if Oceania allows it?
  3. Basor, Just the info I was looking for. Thank you. And yes… we are driving to the port (a 3 hour drive) and staying the night prior. Less stress and hassle.
  4. Can a person preorder a bottle of alcohol and have it delivered to the cabin for in-room consumption? If so, is there a link to the choices? I realize we could bring a bottle of vodka (or whatever), but when it comes to packing, less is more. Thank you!
  5. Curious what sort of boarding we’ll have in Seattle. Do they utilize steps or a large, enclosed ramp contraption (similar to boarding a plane). My husband can do stairs, but it would be much easier if he stayed in his wheelchair and was able to board via ramp. Thank you.
  6. We love The Edgewater. We’ve stayed there before, and will stay there for an upcoming pre-cruise. But spendy.

    Miami Hotel

Aunt Tina, What Ft Lauderdale hotels do you recommend?
  8. I also go through Insuremytrip. They are quite knowledgeable and will help you find the policy thats best suited to your needs.
  9. Curious if we can use some of our specialty reservations allotments on friends, or must they use theirs? We won’t be using all our book-ahead specialty reservations. Can I use some of ours on them so we can dine together? Or must they use theirs?
  10. Curious which specialty restaurant is your favorite? We’ve cruised on the Riviera and enjoyed Red Ginger, but no Red Ginger on the Regatta 😞 So which specialty is your favorite on their smaller ships: Polo or Toscana? Any favorite menu items you recommend?
  11. Our upcoming specialty restaurant booking day is fast approaching, but our friends (2 other couples) will need to wait another 30 days. We can book 2 times at each specialty and they can book 1. We’d all like to dine together at the specialties - maybe just once or twice. Should we go ahead and book our 4 reservation slots and see if we can add our friends once aboard or will we be able to coordinate all that when their booking time slot opens up?
  12. Thank you. Sounds like we’ll do fine. He can get out of wheelchair; I’ll fold it up and he’ll use the walker in the cabin. Easy peasy.
  13. Friends (joining us) are not able to click on excursions either.
  14. Still nada. And no maintenance notice. I'll call them.
  15. A few days ago, I was able to view the various excursions offered in Wrangell (for June 23 cruise). Today, there is nothing. Like sea days (that aren't highlighted in bold), Wrangell is now unhighlighted. Guess I'll make a call to Oceania tomorrow, but thought I'd throw this out there and see if any others are experiencing no Wrangell excursions listed.
  16. Thank you. I figure I’ll have to fold it (takes all of a couple seconds) to bring it in and out. I’d probably have to do that with the transfer chair too.
  17. I posted the following on the Oceania board, but thought I'd ask here too. According to Oceania's website, a wheelchair can't be wider than 22". We have an electric one that's 24" total width - it's foldable. Perhaps Oceania's policy refers to seat width? Our electric wheelchair is nothing out of the ordinary. We also have a transfer chair, and I believe it would fall within their parameters. I was hoping to bring the electric one since it allows for being pushed (best in crowded areas within the ship) or electric mode when out and about. I've seen some very, very wide wheelchairs and scooters on different lines, but am curious about Oceania's policy. Looks like their website links up to a different website where one can rent equipment, and some of those look quite wide. Thank you

  19. Also interested how the select works if you want a glass of wine in the room before dinner. Or out by the pool during lunch. Can we go to any bar during those times and order a glass of wine?
  20. We’ve used a Travelscoot scooter, and transfer chair. The transfer chair is certainly easy peasy.
  21. Any thoughts about purchasing a transfer wheelchair? They’re not terribly expensive and could be useable on the ship as well.
  22. Could a person opt out of the Ultimate deal once a deposit is made for a summer cruise? Might not be worth it for those that don’t drink and do their own excursions.
  23. I see part of the cruise is along the Pacific coast and part inside. I realize it won’t compare to those cruises that begin and end out of Vancouver. But I am hoping we get to experience a full day of the inside passage heading north.
  24. Asking for a friend: Can somebody opt out of the Ultimate sale package and get a reduced fare? Thank you
