  1. It's been 10 years since I've been on Oceania.....Does the Terrace Cafe still close down at 9pm with no evening activity?   I will be below it, nearer the elevators.  I don't mind early morning noise - but am wondering about the evenings?    Has anyone been in a PH-2 under the Terrace Cafe that can share their experience with noise?  Thank you!

  2. Worst idea for a commercial/song I've ever seen in my 60 years, that is for sure.  I cringe every time this comes on the tv.  And working with adolescents and young adult substance abusers, this is now their current anthem.....most had never even heard of this song/message until Celebrity chose to use it to promote Wonder.  Why would Celebrity promote "wonder" through psychedelic drug use?v Are you kidding me?

  3. Can someone please tell me what the difference is between "Concierge Internet" and "Olife Choice Free Internet"? I haven't cruised on Oceania in quite a few years and the last time I did, it was pay by the minute.....

  4.

Take a copy on your phone as back up

Thanks but I can't get into my documents at all online to show anything.

I printed out the front page of the "ticket booklet" which appears to be "proof" that I paid, etc.....and I received my luggage tags in the mail.....I'm not going to stress over it. Just gonna apologize now to anyone who may end up in line behind me when at the boarding desk -- sorry!

  5. I generally print the boarding pass right from my account and usually do it when I'm packing and getting everything together. For this particular cruise leaving 11/20, I had completed the online check-in a couple weeks ago, had gone to print out my boarding pass this morning and it says "online check-in closed" because it is 3 days before the sail date. So.........long story short, has anyone had the experience of getting on board without this document in hand already? Am I still able to "check in manually" in person when I go to board? Probably not a big deal, but have never shown up to board "unprepared" like this.... :o

P.S. I had called the Celebrity Concierge earlier today, she could not get into my docs either and said the system was down and to try later, but I'm still not able to get into check-in.

  6. Can someone please explain what the difference is between these two choices that are being shown on a cruise I am considering:

Concierge Level Internet Benefit vs Complimentary Internet Package

    Thank you!

  7. I am a little confused. You said that you are Elite. Did you take your 180 free minutes per cabin (two people)? You should get that number of minutes per cruise. I guess you must be working a lot.

I am a single and you have no choice about the 90 Elite free minutes -- you have to use them first and then have the option of purchasing a package. The coupon in the Elite package is no longer used for redemption

  8. Seriously. It IS kind of a legitimate question. I'm very interested in the real answers to the redundancy of the elite and elite plus minutes and purchasing an unlimited minutes package.

Maybe there is nothing and you in essence "lose" your perk minutes. We will be in the same boat (ha ha) on our cruises. My husband uses our elite minutes and also buys packages because if he couldn't keep in touch with his company we couldn't cruise at all.

Is this unlimited minutes option new? I don't remember seeing it before.

Yes, it is brand new and it is very expensive if you are doing 7-day cruises.....I'm not sure what is offered on a longer-length cruise, but I am paying $1200 for this trip.....I think it actually works out as a better "deal" if one is a Classic cruiser and gets the 20% discount off of the minutes they've used......90 minutes free as an Elite does not have benefit when you have to purchase the unlimited. The other packages now are daily and I think per minutes...I'd have to recheck at the beginning of my next leg.

  9. Oh your are in an awkward position and I also think this is the place to ask how others may have handled such a situation.

I think it is important that you do something as IMO the hostess ought to have done her research I.e. Looked at your sea pass account if she is able to do so, sorry not sure who is allowed to do that.

If I have read your post correctly you are on the first of 4 btb cruises. In your case I would say thank you to the hostess and politely point out you already have unlimited internet access. It is then up to the hostess what she does with the information. One would hope that she replaces it with a gift of equal value such as flowers for your room, a nice bootle of wine, lunch in a speciality resturant or some other gesture. Certainly the Captains Club Host has a pot of money which enable them to give gestures of goodwill.

I do hope you are enjoying your cruise.

Thank you very much for understanding my question! As a business owner, I give gifts to my clients in appreciation for loyalty, etc. -- it is common business practice and it is important to make sure your client receives a gift that is meaningful. It's just common sense. My whole question revolved around notifying Celebrity that their new internet package offering makes this particular gift "valueless" for some clients. Just as I (and others that I know) ask for something other than the welcome bottle and other alcohol "perks" because I don't drink alcohol, I would think Celebrity would want to ensure that their nice gestures "hit the mark" if their intent is to thank their client for being a repeat customer.

  10. Ok, to preface, I am a "Suite Elite" on 4 b2b's at this time on the Reflection. On this trip, for the first time, we are able to opt for "unlimited" internet usage for $299 if selected in the first 2 days of these 7-day cruises. This is great for me (sort of) as I need to work everyday while cruising and hated having to constantly log in and log out, etc. $299 per week adds up though over a 4-week period......

My concern is that I just received a "gift" from the International Host of 20 Minutes of free internet time as a "thank you" for being a consecutive cruiser. Well isn't this basically "worthless" if I have already paid for unlimited usage? In addition, the Elite "perk" of 90 minutes free internet is also not worth anything to me if I still need to pay for unlimited usage.....

Your thoughts on this? Should I go to Guest Relations and ask if I can get some sort of refund on my internet payment to make this "gift" applicable to those of us that have paid for unlimited internet?

Please allow me to add that I am not being sarcastic or "snarky" here, I appreciate the gift and have used this before on b2b's -- it is automatically given to you when you complete the Survey at the end of the first cruise.....my question revolves around the "value" now that there is unlimited internet packages available. That is all. Of course I am grateful for the gift - that was never the question or concern here.....

  11. Say, 'Thank You'.

Now if you had not purschased a pkg you would be all smiles instead of whipping the gift hoarse, right!

Are you kidding me? I am asking a legitimate question regarding a new, unfamiliar situation here on a Celebrity cruise. This is the correct venue to take my questions regarding Celebrity policies is it not? This is a place where I may ask fellow cruisers who may have experience with this what their thoughts are, no? Who is whipping the gift horse? Why did you even respond to my question if you were not planning on being helpful to a fellow CCer.

  13. I strolled by the Art Studio on the Reflection just now and saw that the craft project was melting down the leftover slivers of soap from the prior cruise and pouring the liquid soap into molds to make "new" bars. I was surprised at the allowance of an open flame during this process but was advised it was ok because the art instructor was Australian and this is not a transatlantic voyage.

I also observed a group of passengers sitting in the Ocean Cafe working on putting new labels on a huge pile of the new soap bars. When I asked them why they, as passengers, were doing this, they replied they were offered a cabin upgrade or extra jimmies on their ice cream if they volunteered to do this.....most were opting for the jimmies. I was jealous and wished Celebrity had announced this in last night's Celebrity Today

  14. What's in the library? A mishmash selection of books with stickers all over the spines so you cannot even tell the name and author from perusing the stacks -- oh, and most of the books are on shelves that you cannot even reach......awful library in my opinion and shouldn't even be called a library IMO - no organization, definitely no oversight as to selection. Definitely bring your own.

  15. Your butler gets $7.00 per day whether you use him or not. If he brings you breakfast 3-4 times a cruise, that's what he is getting paid for. That's his job, like your stateroom attendant cleaning your cabin.

If you use him above and beyond, then you can tip him extra at the end of the cruise.

This is true if you are doing the automatic onboard gratuities. Some people prefer to have these removed and pay cash.
