  1. We will be in port on August 10th and tendering. We arrive at 10 AM and depart at 6 PM. I am thinking it is going to be really HOT and would like to go snorkeling, possibly after or before walking the wall. There is a ship excursion (snorkeling)that goes to Mlini. Has anyone done this on RCCL and is there time after to walk the wall? Dubrovniktravelady, what is your advice? Thanks!:)

Hi ,we are coming in may and were going to snorkel too ,but it may have been Dubrovniktravelady said we vmay want to tour the city and that the snorkeling is not going to be like the caribbean or other places that have good snorkeling. we are going to do something else. the snorkeling is expensive and we just did western and eastern caribbean we figured we would just tour the city. don't want to pay alot of money and be disappointed.

  2. cruising for six-did you do the half or full day tour? How many of those 30 folks were from the ship? We really appreicate your report. We will be there next month. How did you get back and forth? Costs?

It was a half day with capt. carl and i believe there were a couple of ships in that day because we wanted to stay a little bit longer so the cabbie dropped us off and took the other people back to the ship. we stopped in a few shops and then stopped and had a drink and an appetizer at a little place near the water. i believe capt. carl will tell you about the cab and give you all the information you need. i don't think the cab or van is very expensive. we are going back in jan .and looking for something different to do. we just got back from a fantastic western caribbean cruise in october. it is going to be hard to top some of those snorkeling tours. don't know if you are going to antigua or not but a gentleman named Glen does a fantastic snorkel with a lobster lunch on bird island. it is an all day tour with lunch. a little on the more expensive side but well worth it.

  3. We went with capt. heinz last jan. on the way out we saw several turtles and we thought there were tons of fish. large schools of tangs ,parrotfish etc, etc, even a nurse shark. we even did a little exploring when he took us to the island we walked around and did some snorkeling off the beach. not many fish there but stingrays were right under us. the tour is a little more crowded than what we prefer maybe around 30 or so people. we like between 4 and 10 . we are going back in jan. again and trying to see if there is somewhere else to snorkel this time.

  4. Just got this yesterday on Priceline for our Royal Caribbean cruise leaving on 1/16/2010. Courtyard website had the room for $209

    Here are the details:

Courtyard By Marriott San Juan Miramar

    Check-Out Date: Sun, Jan 16, 2011

Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $81.00

    Subtotal: $81.00

    Taxes & Fees: $16.81

    Total Charges: $97.81

We stayed here last jan. best cup of coffee in the little cafe i have had, tried duplicating it at home but not the same. everybody at the desk is super friendly and helpful. we bid last year on priceline and ended up paying 125 and no marriott points. when i called to ask them a question they offered me a rate of 95. i wasn't to happy with priceline at that point.

  5. We originally had booked a room at marriott stellaris but decide we did not want to spend the money or use our points . so we bid on priceline and ended up with the marriott court yard for 120. Ithink we overpaid , but we are only there one night and maybe with husband platinum status at marriott we will at least get an upgrade. It seems to be pretty close to the ship terminal.
