Agreed. Tamiflu is a sham. There is no credible science to back it up and yet it's peddled as a miracle drug.
I had the flu a few years ago, and took tamiflu. Made me so sick. Swore I’d never take it again but this flu epidemic is making me so nervous. Watching the news they say to take tamiflu

Influenza is mainly spread by droplets in the air. It can be spread by contact with objects and hand washing is not completely unhelpful. But, the overwhelming risk, unfortunately, is airborne.
And, yes, I would still wash my hands.

Yes that’s what I was more concerned about. I’d never fly and get on a cruise if we had the flu. I’m more concerned that what happens if you come down with it during the cruise...wonder if they can test u and give tamiflu. I know there is a tamiflu shortage and would hate to get 4 preventive scripts if the ship has them if needed

just wondering if the cruise ship is able to test for flu and give out tamiflu if necessary (to adults and children). Leaving next week and with this flu outbreak I’m getting a little nervous 😬

Anyone have the kids menu for coastal kitchen? I found an old post but can't open up the pics.

We will have a 3 year old and a 6 year old. Prob skip the water part of Atlantis because the ship has a ton of stuff like that so what's another excursion that can't be missed? We are up for anything! Kids are great travelers and have seen the world but havnt been to Atlantis in a few years or with kids....

I know this is old but curious what you ended up doing. Have the same age kids

just wondering if Adventure Ocean, specifically the 3-5 and 6-8 group, has an hourly schedule? Everything I’ve seen just lists things that they may do but can’t find anything that has a detailed schedule and times.

There is a time to walk off for Luggage Valet guests, you will see that in the documentation they give you when you sign up.
Great thanks!

Last advice question on this :) So if we do luggage valet should we do self walk off? We will be with our two kids (6&3). Originally we were going to do the assigned time since we had the kids but if we don’t have our luggage self walk off might be best.

oh wow that is amazing. I never heard of it before. Did you say it was free if you are in a suite? we are staying in a royal family suite.
You put your bags outside your stateroom on the last night of the cruise, and the next time you see them is at your destination airport. The cruise line arranges to transport the bags to the airport for you. -

Just wonder what is luggage valet???

if you are flying in the day before your cruise do you put your royal carribean luggage tags on prior to your flight or the morning of your cruise? We have cruised lots but have never flown in early so not sure what to do.

Great question! We are also cruising with our just turned 3 year old and he also has an egg and peanut allergy. I’ll be emailing the special service department too. When we went away last year (not on a cruise), we packed a ton of his snacks in our suitcase and carry one (z bar, pretzels, Oreos etc). We will be doing this same thing on this cruise, kinda defeats the purpose of an all inclusive but at least he has his “own” snack food.
I can share my experience with you. My son also has a peanut allergy as well he can't eat anything processed in a facility that also uses peanuts. We cruised on RCCL Anthem 2 years ago. I contacted special needs and had it noted on my reservation but when we got there the staff knew nothing. That was actually ok because I was going to tell everyone anyway.Windjammer: We avoided desserts except for the soft serve by the pool. No issues with food. We did not do any chocolate chip muffins. We stuck to yogurts, cereals, fruits, waffles, pancakes etc. There is a ton to eat in the windjammer that will be fine.
Park Cafe: They had Udi gluten free cookies behind the counter that were individually wrapped and those were fine--had ingredients etc.
Sorrento's: pizza galore!!!
MDR: We made sure to have traditional dining so we had the same wait staff every night. He ate ice cream for dessert. They did not serve any ice cream with peanut butter so we did not have to worry about cross-contamination
Kids Club: They noted the allergy and we left an epipen with them. I believe they did have the option to bring the kids to meals but we always would get him at meal time.
My son was 7 at the time and we became aware of his allergy since he was 18mths old so he is very aware of what he can and can't eat. He can check labels to see if they are processed etc. He knows he can't eat certain pretzels, some gummy bears, candy corn...etc.
My other tips is to bring his favorite desserts with you! Cookies, candy etc. We went on a cruise that was over Easter so we brought him a special small Easter basket.
Enjoy the cruise. You all will have a great time!

Just curious what everyones favorite speciality dining restaurant is on Allure of the Seas...

Just to clarify, if OP was purchasing a package of water bottles, that can be shared. A Soda or Royal Refreshment package cannot.
Yes was going to purchase bottles for kids. Yet just looked into our suite perks and it includes complementary water. :)
-
Ok thanks everyone for your advice. Since you can get multiple bottles throughout the day we will stick with the refreshment. On our honeymoon, (12 yrs ago) i got sick from drinking the cruise ship water so since I have always super nervous about it. Taking our kids for the first time (6and 3) so want to make sure they have bottled water to drink as well.
-
All drinks are complimentary at designated cocktail time, usually 5 Pm-8:30 PM. Only wine, beer and soda are complimentary 11 AM-11 PM. These may be taken out of the lounge.
Is this the same if you are staying in a royal family suite? Do you know if bottled water is complimentary? Trying to figure out if it’s worth getting bottles delivered to our cabin for our kids.
-
I need some help clarifying. The refreshment package includes bottled water, is that unlimited bottles? Like if i wanted to can I get 3 a day? If this is the case would this be a better purchase instead of the water bev package, which only gives you 12 bottles?

Question. My husband, two kids, and myself are sailing on the Allure and booked in two connecting cabins under two different reservation numbers (me with one kid, husband with the other). Here is my question, since I am a platinum C&A and my husband is gold will he be able to use my "perks", such as priority boarding etc? I tried looking on royals website and couldn't find an answer. Also how bout the kids? They have never sailed before.

I've seen some great and funny reviews of the escape but they all seem to only show what drinks they are having at the moment. I haven't seen too many reviews about families (with young kids) being on the escape. So just want to make sure that the escape does attract families with young kids and not just a spring break crowd.

Getting around Fort Lauderdale and Miami...for how long ?....Why not rent a car (SUV or Mini-Van) that will provide car seats and just DIY ?? Price out a car using Costco.
Not to get around but really to get from FLL airport to hotel to Miami cruise port. It's for one night. A car is more of a pain.
Flu test and tamiflu
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
I asked about testing of the flu for the sole purpose of being given tamiflu. I wouldn’t want to take it or be given it if I didn’t really have the flu. Lots of doctors/urgent care etc around here don’t test for the flu but give you tamiflu based off of your symptoms (not sure about the current flu issue). In 2016 the only place I could get a flu test was at CVS. Like I said before, I would never want to take it again if it wasn’t medically necessary bc it made me so sick. Let’s just hope everyone stays healthy. Looks like you are in my roll call. I’m assuming you are a dr, if I get sick I’m coming to find you :p
