On past cruises I have always made a daily visit to the sauna, which was accessible along with the fitness center. We are sailing on the Magic in February and it "appears" the sauna is only accessible through the spa, which may mean needing a spa pass. I could be mistaken. In fact, I hope I am. Does anyone know if I can use the sauna without paying for a spa pass?
Thanks!

Sunday, November 5th, 2017, Debarkation day Concluded:
Before we hit the road, I wanted to check out one of the cemeteries. I've always been fascinated with old cemeteries, so I was pretty excited. We made our way over to St. Louis Cemetery #2. It didn't disappoint:
It was just too hot to hang out here very long, so pretty soon we were on the road, Oklahoma bound. After what seemed like hours and hours on the road, I very emotionally asked C, complete with tears, if we could just find a hotel for the night and rest. He gave me side-eye and said we just passed the Superdome and had been on the road maybe 10 minutes. I pouted for awhile before finally speaking to him again. We ended up driving to Alexandria and stopping for the evening. We found a Wal-Mart and picked up a healthy dinner (Chicken in a Biskit crackers and Diet Coke), and found our hotel. We're Diamond with Wyndham, so I had booked this place cheap with points. Good thing, because it was falling apart and a little dirty. (IE, me at the end of the night.) The next morning, we ate some breakfast at the Cracker Barrel across the street from the hotel (it was nasty), and hit the road. We took turns driving, and had a smooth and uneventful trip home. I was confused when we walked through the door and there were people calling me mom, no bartenders, no room stewards, and no Guy's Burger Joint. My kids looked confused when I referred to them as "I Putu" and asked them to bring me a drink. That night, after our shower, we collapsed into bed from exhaustion. I fell asleep and dreamed that C and I had hidden in the whale tail during debark and embark, kidnapped 2 passengers, stole their S&S cards, and stayed on the Dream another week. I woke up kicking myself that we didn't think of that before we got off the ship. Maybe next time.
Ladies and gentlemen, that concludes my review of our Halloween 2017 cruise aboard the Carnival Dream. I sincerely thank each one of you who read this mess. I really enjoyed writing it, and while I hope I made you a laugh a time or two, I also hope it was in some way helpful to you. I want to wish all of you the happiest of holidays. May they be filled with lots of love, booze, and family you don't want to stab after 5 minutes of being around them. Please join me back here in the Spring, where I will review our week aboard the Carnival Breeze. (I know we swore off Galveston in my last review because of that pesky night 2 rule, but we wanna catch the Breeze before she leaves the Gulf. We're just gonna take a few hundred dollars out our kids' college funds to pay for that first night's alcohol.) Cheers!
Thanks for sharing. I thoroughly enjoyed your review, and I must add, if you get Chicken in a Biscuit crackers, nothing says fanncy dinner like a can off EZ Cheese to spray right on top.

There is no way for you to check. You'll have to call the cruise line or TA to confirm it'd marked yes.
Thanks!

We always say we're gonna go, but we're always reluctant to leave our favorite bar and give up our seat. Lol I've heard it's a lot of fun.
It is hilarious and wildly inappropriate. Sounds perfect for you two. We saw way more of the guy at the next table than we ever expected on our last cruise. Twig AND berries! :o

They have a computer that does the decision for upgrades. Make sure is marked will accept upgrades.
That's why its called the upgrade fairy.
Where should I look to be sure I am marked will accept upgrades?

Understanding your stance on shows, have you and C participated in the Quest? I'm not allowed to discuss it, but it would be right up your alley, and I didn't mean that to sound as inappropriate, but if it does.... well.
Either way, you need to give it a shot if you haven't.

Make sure to get the BBQ ones, because this is a formal affair. Thanks for reading! :D
I grabbed BBQ AND Tabasco flavored - because I like to live dangerously...

Ok, I'm in. Based on the criteria you have presented so far, we could definitely be friends, so I'm looking forward to it. Until then I'll make do with enjoying this review. Now, I'll grab some pork skins and wait for the next installment.

We are on the Magic Feb. 18 but we've done this itinerary several times. I echo the cave tubing trip - it was great! Also, for Costa Maya I suggest walking right through the port shopping area and taking a taxi to "town" - I won't try to spell it :D. You can find plenty of info on this in the ports forum. It's great way to spend a day and won't break the bank.

I always use the irons on board, usually to touch up a shirt for formal night. Never had a problem although a few times I have had to wait in line.

luvttrips,
We are on the same sailing - 4 couples together and football fans throughout. I was wondering the same thing. Glad you asked. I hope they will postpone the drill for 1 day so we won't get interrupted. Maybe we will see you there.

Wife and I are cruising with friends, Carnival Victory Feb 7 2010. We are flying form Atlanta, GA a day early. There is disagreement within the group over when to book our flights. Right now air is around $300/pp. I know it is as low as $178 this Fall and I don't expect to pay that, but I think I can wait for a sale. I want to wait a bit (since we are still 6 months out and I anticipate a sale or drop in prices at least) but some of our groups thinks we should book now before prices go up. Anyone have any thoughts?

That's good news. I'll assume it will be the same on both ships. Thanks!
