The only caveat with trying to do the paddle boarding through YaYa on your own is whether or not YaYa has an agreement with the cruiseline to only offer paddle boarding to cruiseline excursion folks, not walk ups. I have no way of knowing whether or not that's true, so you'll have to walk down to YaYas and ask once you're there. Knowing the timing of the cruiseline excursion could help. You could either go before or well after the cruisers have gone through and then there may not be a conflict.
The ship excursion is at 9:30am so we plan to go to Blue Kay in the morning then after lunch rent the paddle boards at YaYa's. I think there's another place there that's rents them as well so we have a good game plan. Can't wait! Thanks

How much is the ship charging you to do this paddleboarding at Yaya?
Because they (Yaya) offers the paddleboard lessons for $45 pp and you can reserve online.
They are not located far from Blue Kay, so it would be easy to do the paddleboarding and then walk down the Malecon to Blue Kay for the rest of your stay. :)
Carnival's excursion is $69pp so I'm thinking we can spend our time at Blue Kay and then walkup to the Paddleboard place and book a lesson on our own. Thoughts?? We aren't alcohol drinkers so having drinks included isn't important to us.

The Dream docks at Mahogany Bay and they have kayaks, paddleboats and floats. They just may have paddle boards. Have a great cruise.:)
We will check it out! Thanks

We hope to spend the day at Blue Kay beach club while in Costa Maya in 10 days. We'd like to try our hand at Paddle Boarding. I see there's a ship excursion for this at YaYa Beach Club but we'd like to just book on our own. Would you suggest we just walk up to YaYa to rent a board and sign up for a lesson? Any other suggestions where to go to Paddle Board? thanks

Any suggestions of where to go to Paddle Board in Roatan? Saw there's Steves Paddle Boards & also Roatan Paddle Sports but do you of you have experiences there and suggestions. I think Steve's is a bit high at $85 but it includes snorkeling, lunch, chair, ect... I want something fairly simple to get to, ect...

What kind of power strip is permissible to take on the ship? I've messed up in the past and took one that was too strong I guess and I blew a fuse in the cabin and blew out my power strip. I hadn't even thought about it being an issue so I don't want to do that again. What amps is the correct one to take? Thanks

Flygirl, I by chance caught your post on here, we are on the same Glory cruise as you and I was checking for hotels tonight. I have to say I used LMT to book the SpringHill Suites for $77. I owe you a drink because I never would have thought about it! :)
Great!!

Thanks! I wasn't sure where to type "Chef's Table" so after I entered number of diner's I added it to that. Hopefully I made the reservation in time as I assume it's limited to 12-14 diners. Do they just have one of this per cruise?

Santewellnessretreat.com
We wanted something different and this place was fabulous. My husband and I both got massages and I got a facial. They had an awesome lunch and the property they are on is gorgeous. You can also snorkel there. Please go check it out, you won't regret it.:)
I totally agree! Go to Sante Wellness Retreat! We have reservations next month for our upcoming cruise. We were there 2 years ago and it is our all-time favorite port due to Sante Wellness Retreat!

How do you make a reservation for the "Chef's Table"? We will be on Carnival's Glory next month. Do you sign up once you are on ship or can you make a reservation prior to boarding?

When I was at Paradise Beach last year it was so rocky I skinned my shin and was on my hands and knees trying to get to my chair! Others were doing the same. I looked like I was drunk trying to get out of the water! Has it improved so much it's a sandy beach or are the rocks still a major issue getting into the water?

I spent 20 min. yesterday on the phone with Priceline discussing the Springhill Suites in Downtown Miami area and you are correct it is in the Downtown area by a couple of blocks. What made me more upset was I found this hotel on http://www.lmtclub.com for $77! I usually always check the lowest price I can find decent hotels on other price before I bid on Priceline so I have a limit of what I will bid. When I told the guy on the phone I found it for this price he said he would honor that if he can find it online. But the issue was I was a member of Last Minute Travel so I use an user name and password. He said the price needed to be available to the general public so he couldn't honor it. A lesson learned. I wonder if they have free airport shuttle or/and free port transportation?? I will have to check into it.

I just got a Priceline room for our pre-cruise stay in November in Miami. I bid Miami downtown and was hoping for Intercontinental or a couple other ones I've seen mentioned on these boards but got "Springhill Suites Marriott-Airport East". It said it was listed under Miami downtown which surprised me. Has anyone stayed here?

Totally agree! We are booked on a Nov. 8 Carnival Glory cruise and thought I'd look you up in case you are Steve were booked on the same cruise. We really enjoyed our visits with you on the Westerdam last year. Give our best to Steve and we pray for healing and that once again you can sail the Happy Seas!

When we sailed on Carnival's Victory in 2012 the espresso in the Dining Room was free. We will be on the Glory Nov. 8 and was wondering if they charge now or if it's free??

Check out White Sands Beach Resort in Grand Turk. We booked massages with Oceanscapes Spa that's located there and can use their beach, chairs, ect...afterwards. The website says it's just past Margaritaville. I'm not sure if there's a charge to use their chairs without a massage but you may check it out. Hope to meet you on the ship! Rita

I agree with the "Dragon Fly" recommendation and give 2 thumbs up for their duck nachos!
First time on Princess - any favorite places or tips on the ship?
in Princess Cruises
Posted
We've sailed quite a few times on other cruise lines but this will be our first on Princess. We will be on the Caribbean Princess in a few weeks. Where is the best place to lay out that is quiet and sunny? On other ships I find a place on a top deck but on this ship where would you suggest? I usually do not eat buffets but what's your take on this ship? I eat a lot of fish and chicken so what is the fish and chicken like in the main dining room? When you order room service in the morning is the coffee served in a silver pot like on Holland or Celebrity or is in a plastic pot like Carnival? I love my morning coffee and croissants served on china....just a pleasure I have when I cruise. :) I enjoy the sauna's so do they have a dry sauna and possible a steam sauna as well? Many questions so who will be the first?? Thanks !!
