Does not paying the service charge mean the bartenders are not tipped?
Put another way, does the service charge actually go to the bartender staff or is it just a "fee" taken directly by MSC - the company?

Harvest Caye is an NCL creation.
I hope that NCL is not expecting the RSSC (and Oceania) guests to visit on the same days as each other - much less the same days as the 5 NCL ships written to port here. I just cannot see that going well.

As a Diet Coke aficionado, I can tell you that Coke Light does NOT taste like Diet Coke (at least in Asia).
I agree.
Nor in Europe I didn't think.
Coke asserts it is the same.
Something special in the flavor mix of those American chemicals I suppose...
I'm pretty much at coffee for caffeine and sparkling water for fizz needs now.
Best for an enjoyable cruise on RSSC.
-
Point remains the same however, make a request in advance and RSSC will try to get you what you want.
One of my traveling companions drinks soy milk in her lattes.
Of course they already have that on board. Still took a couple days to get it stocked for daily use in the Coffee Connection.
Which is why I also recommend preparing to meet your own needs at least in part / early on in the voyage...if it is very important to you.

In UK, Tesco (for one) stocks 'Mountain Dew Sugarfree' made (or maybe imported) by Britvic Ireland ltd. BVO is not a listed ingredient though.
Unlike Diet Coke and Coca-Cola light which are the same product with different badges, these are not quite the same product. Not the absence of orange juice for one.
As someone who is a reformed diet soda drinker I doubt the taste is the same.
Mountain Dew Sugarfree
Ingredients:
Carbonated Water, Citric Acid, Sweeteners (Aspartame, Acesulfame K), Stabilisers (Gum Arabic, Pectin, Glycerol Esters of Wood Rosins), Natural Citrus Flavourings, Antioxidant (Ascorbic Acid), Preservative (Potassium Sorbate), Caffeine, Colour (Beta Carotene)
Diet Mountain Dew (PepsiCo)
CARBONATED WATER, CONCENTRATED ORANGE JUICE, CITRIC ACID, NATURAL FLAVORS, CITRUS PECTIN, POTASSIUM BENZOATE (PRESERVES FRESHNESS), ASPARTAME, POTASSIUM CITRATE, CAFFEINE, SODIUM CITRATE, ACESULFAME POTASSIUM, SUCRALOSE, GUM ARABIC, SODIUM BENZOATE (PRESERVES FRESHNESS), CALCIUM DISODIUM EDTA (TO PROTECT FLAVOR), BROMINATED VEGETABLE OIL, YELLOW 5

This is a tricky question.
Depends on the itinerary.
In Europe DMD is banned due to being made with BVO (brominated vegetable oil). So not available there.
In the US it is of course available and all you need to do is request it (through your TA if you're using one) be available. Allow ample time for logistic coordination and provisioning.
Your use of the word fiend makes me think your SO may be most comfortable bringing at least a 12 pack on board for the first day or so - especially if it would dampen the SO's enthusiasm / enjoyment of the cruise to be without.

Really? What if someone is in the pool? We have frequently been in the pool longer than 30 minutes and you'd normally leave your bags, a towel and whatnot on the lounger.
I have seen folks come out first thing in the morning and hog several chairs with a book, a flip here and a flop there and never arrive at the chairs until the afternoon. That, I believe, is different than folks who come out and sit, maybe go to breakfast for 30 minutes, go into the pool or are just talking with someone for a few minutes.
Personally, I would not think of saving chair to go to another area on the ship, such as bingo or the gym. But being timed by another passenger is just wrong, wrong, wrong!
If someone is in the pool, fine.
Going to breakfast is not a pool activity - any more than bingo or the gym.

Might suggest for more broad response rate you consider posting on the Ports of Call - Spain board.
Also everyone's idea of not too expensive is different so a per night € range may be useful.

While posts to your thread are in the 50s, your view count is in the 3000s.
Please know there are several of us reading with great interest even if we don't post.
I'm posting mainly to add to the encouragement...please do continue and share all your thoughts as they are valued.

I would not recommend DCL primarily because they do not do a true 1 way itinerary. Going RT out of Vancouver means you miss Sitka and Anchorage / Seward both of which we enjoyed.
When I was speaking about missing the more northern ports traveling out of Vancouver, I was specifically speaking to the itineraries offered by DCL recommended by another poster.
Regent one ways which include the trip from Anchorage / Seward to Vancouver (or reverse) are ideal.
-
Have done 7 regent cruises and have 3 more booked. Took a very mature granddaughter on a 30 day Northern Europe Regent cruise last summer and she loved it. Despite that, I would probably use a more mainline cruise for Alaska with a teenager - especially consider Disney (if they go there).
The cruises see the terrific part of Alaska south of Seward BUT Alaska is much more and should be seen by land. A week or so driving among Anchorage, Talkeetna, Denali, Girdwood, Seward and Homer will give your son lifetime memories.

Ms. Millie reported that in a Jan 20 post within RachelG's trip report thread.
"I did receive disappointing news today from Destination Services. I was told that there would be no excursions provided for continuing passengers at Seward/Alaska. So that equates to another sea day for a lot of people without the services that we typically provided on sea days. Angie"
It would seem that if this was sold as a 14 d cruise v a BTB booking they should provide you all with 'something' whether a shore excursion, specially buffet or other on board activity (depending on whether they prefer you on or off the ship that day).
The above would apply in principle for even one passenger but 230! is a significant proportion of the total passengers.
Band together / strength in numbers for fulfillment of your reasonable expectation.

Wonderful post Rachel. You took me through your disappointment in the Endicott v Tracy Arm experience straight into the wildlife / orca!! happiness.
Seems you love to hike so a good afternoon too.
So nice you got to meet up with friends.
Their added perspective of the specialness of Regent was the topper to the post.
What a good day.

Thanks for posting the live blog Rachel. Enjoyable to follow.
Agree the tapatalk app is an easy (probablythe easiest) way to post photos.

Why should 855 be avoided?
Answer is in post #12.

Our traveling companions were in 607.
No problems reported.

I would never book a GTY on the Navigator because of the likelihood that you could end up in an AFT cabin
The OP was talking about booking a concierge (D) GTY.
None of those are aft.
-
You'd have to tell us what kind of passengers you are. Are you one of these Interline bookings, i.e., in the travel industry? Or are you talking about a third person in your suite, and what their entitlements are.
So when you say, "Is that the same info you got?", what info, by whom?
I think karenwxs is specifically seeking info from the poster kimanjo (as that is the title of her? post) about interline rates.
kimanjo hasn't posted since Nov 2015 so there may be a wait on a response.

Got mine today.
Shows Early Booking Fare with Air and Early Booking Fare without Air.
I too like the "without" option being plainly listed.

Welcome!
On March 31 (a catalog mailing thread), DaveFr said:
Summer 2017 schedules have not yet been released. They should be released sometime in April. I'm sure the catalog you are seeking, will follow the release of schedules shortly.

In short, yes it is allowed.
From RSSC directly:
On embarkation day, you are permitted to bring unsealed and unopened bottles of wine or champagne to be enjoyed onboard. Alcohol purchased in ports-of-call may be stored and consumed in your suite.
