Anyone sailing in the Southern Caribbean seeing signs of Sargassum/seaweed washing up in large quantities on the beaches of islands in the Caribbean. Heard reports that Barbados is bad

I am not on board but 4.23.0 is running fine on my Iphone 6S

Thanks everyone. I have now booked all my excursions for my April Sailing.

Just wondering how far in advance of cruise sail date do people book their excursions through HAL. If you don't book until you are onboard, how likely is it that excursions will be full?

Looking at all the named beaches in Carlisle Bay and Brownes beach looked as if may be far enough from Cruise terminal to not be too busy. Can anyone please provide any information on Brownes Beach or a better, non crowded one they reccommend.

Kenato, I was wondering if the Vista suites have night lights in the bathroom like some of the older re-fitted ships? Thanks
No, nothing in the bathrooms but under the wardrobes opposite the bathroom door there is a floor level, motion sensitive light that does illuminate the bathroom, especially if you leave the door open.

Did you notice any public place where a person might see a sporting event and a drink?
There is one bar, I forget the name, that has a large screen TV and some other screens that did show some football. ESPN & ESPN2 are available on your cabin tv and I guess on the bars tv’s

Just returned from Volendam on its first cruise after refit Yes the TV's in the Vista Suites are now flat panel screens mounted on the wall facing the bed. Has interactive providing limited live TV, movies, TV shows, Dining Room info, your account and other features.
New Carpet throughout
NewMusic venues: Classical music in The Lincoln Centre Stage (Very popular and well attended), The Ocean Bar with three piece dance band, and BillBoard Onboard with the two pianos, again very popular,
Unfortunately there still seem to be problems dotted about ship. No hot water, no water, air conditioning problems, overflowing toilets and ceiling leaks.
On the positive side, the staff are as friendly, helpful and smiling as ever and while the restaurant may be serving more inexpensive meals, the quality is still good and the Lido has a great selection.
We really enjoyed our trio despite the little things.

Not sure of all updates but Vista Suites have large screen TVs mounted on wall opposite beds with movies, accountstatus, limited live Tv available. I am sure there are changes on deck 5 for entertainment but not sure what was there before.
Heard of usual hot water, air conditioning and smell problems in different areas of ship. Many maintenance people peering into the ceilings. Any questions I will try to answer .- 1

While since we have been in Ft. Lauderdale. What is the normal range that you tip for taxis, porters at the Port Everglades that take your bags, etc. Don't want abuse for tipping too little!!

Can you ask to have your cabin fridge stocked with your selection of beers and other drinks that are available in the bars on-board.

Thanks for the replies guys. Really sorry no BB King. I really enjoyed them and was looking forward to seeing them again.

Can anyone tell me if there is a BB King group playing on the Volendam. Heard and liked them on previous Eurodam cruises and hoping they now have one on the Volendam
-
Thank you, I must have missed that

I can see that if you just order a bottle of liquor it is 1 litre but it looks as if the bottles in the drink packages (liquor and mix) are less than 1 litre and probably 750ml. Can anyone confirm please?

To the best of my knowledge they only do tours but you should email them to be sure. They also have them in the Bahamas I think where you can take on your own
-
You can also rent a Twizy from Roadrunner Bonaire. It is like a small open smart car. Think it will feel similar to golfcart but faster and safer. They will reserve cars and you only pay when there. Owner was very obliging.

Anyone have any further news on whether the Volendam dry dock will proceed as scheduled. Hi
-
That's good news for cruisers and even better news for the shiptard workers who will have a much needed income during this very difficult period.
-
Anyone heard if the Dry dock will still proceed or if the boat yard was damaged in the hurricane?
-
No, if I remember correctly, you put in a marked envelop and leave at the front desk. All anonymous.

I think that Avalon has bikes on board most of their vessels on this route. From what I saw a couple of years ago, they are pretty good bikes. Have fun.

CK is the definite choice. A charming old town with plenty to see, buildings, gardens, river and many places to eat. We really enjoyed our time there even with the long bus ride and even that was interesting.

Having tooth extracted just before we leave on cruise and wondering if doctor on board will treat simple problems like dry socket or bleeding socket
