  1. Thanks for your responses, I will bring my own new cord with an adapter but also saw this answer on another thread so am going to try and see if this works so I don't have to walk over the cord at night. I did submit a special needs request for the CPAP and food allergies.

From Homosassa "We contacted special needs well in advance of the cruise to note the need of an extension cord and distilled water for the CPAP machine. It was noted on the reservation for their cabin.

Once on board, my daughter found a note requesting that she call to arrange the delivery of the water and cord and the accessing of a plug by the end tables so that the cord need not be strung across the cabin. That particular plug was European and the extension cord provided fit the plug and had a US connection for the machine to plug into. Someone had to be in the cabin for the delivery and plug accessing."

  2. Your particular cruise is not selling well so the price has dropped to try to fill cabins last minute. My cruise two weeks earlier is nearly sold out and the prices rose and never came back down.

That's how it is, if you are within driving distance to the port and have complete flexibility you can get some amazing deals but most of us have to pick a date and try to book the best deal for cruise and airfare and then live with it unless fares drop before final payment date (not be be confused with your final payment if made before the final payment is actually due).

    Enjoy your cruise.

  3. Dear Cruising Soozin,

I was on the ship two weeks after "hurricane cruise" last February one year ago. Martinique was open, we docked and everyone complained that everything was closed. St. Lucia was not in the agenda.

Cruising Soozin wasn't talking about your cruise, she was trying to correct your misconception that PortsideCruzan, post 14, was cancelling because RCCL switched Martinique for St. Lucia. They were cancelling because RCCL switched St. Lucia for Martinique and they had the same opinion as you about Martinique.

  4. Hello everyone!

I have had this cruise booked for almost two years. I have done research and planned my routes from my D2 balcony on Harmony of the Seas. And then RCI had to go this morning nad change everything up exactly a week out from my sail date and give me a JS ;) Because my fiance and I are leaving tomorrow morning, I have a few quick JS questions:

    • My FFIL AND FMIL paid for this cruise, in celebration of my FFIL's retirement. We are tempted to give them the JS to celebrate and switch into their balcony room. Is this even possible at this point?

    • It seems we can get in Coastal Kitchen (yay!) but what about the Concierge Lounge? Are JS guests allowed in there?

    • Can we bring non-JS guests in Coastal Kitchen? (And the Concierge lounge if we can go in there)?

    • If Harmony does this, do we get to sit in the special suite loungers near the pool and/or the seats at the shows?

    • Our luggage tags still say our old D2 (though our Set Sail pass has our new room on it). How can I get the luggage tags upgraded so I can print before we leave tomorrow?

Anything else I should know last minute about our JS?

    Thanks in advance!

You should definitely offer the IL the JS.

  5. According to sites that monitor cruise prices, I had no problems finding RCI cruises sailing in the next few weeks that are now priced lower than when they were first placed on the market.

I'm guessing spring break is a key factor here.

Example: Oasis sailing August 13 (a few weeks away), "Balcony / Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony / D5"

Went as high as $3500 in 2015, is now $2200.

Some day I will have that flexibility to go at a moments notice and live close enough on the east coast to drive to find those last minute deals but with my wife being a teacher, thus having limited options to when she can take off, and currently booking airfare from Arizona that isn't a possibility at the moment for us.

Awesome when you can take care of those deals.

  6. Well at least those that said the new pricing structure to not discount last minute cruises was not going to go away and that booking far in advance was the new norm.

So I booked nearly 2 years in advance for the Adventure for spring break March 2017 which I had never done previously. We booked a Jr. Suite on the hump for $1,250/pp with taxes and port charges that included $300 RCCL OBC and $190 TA OBC.

Just looked today because this is typically my time frame for looking at spring break travel next year and saw it is now double at $5,017 with $425 C**** cash card.

    Thank you very much.

    Dave

    :):D

  7. I wish I'd been there....not because I really wanted to see it, or would have done anything differently...just because that would mean I was currently on Oasis. :D

You have love to the DYKWIA crowd! New thread: "Best Answers to the Question: Don't You Know Who I Am?"

1.) I don't now, but the whole world will as soon as I post this video of you making an a$$ of yourself.

2.) I'm sure you're famous in your village, but this particular location has more than one idiot.

3.) The woman who's about to be fired for the black eye you just gave the company.

4.) Someone who obviously needs a new publicist.

5.) No, but I'm hoping you earn enough for bail money.

The best response I've seen to this is "Excuse me everyone does anyone know this person is, they seem to have forgotten who they are"

  8. I just booked us a grand suite for our family of 5 on March 31st. I was looking for our 2017 spring break trip and ran across the Seaside. I booked it now because I didn't think the suites were going to last long at the prices they were offering. She looks absolutely gorgeous, I'm curious about what their idea of a "marine reserve" island is and we got a suite with all the amenities for what we usually have to pay for two cramped cabins.

However I had to pay a $700 deposit and does anyone know why there appears to be a cubicle on the balcony. Oh and I was not offered a room selection there was one suite offered on Deck 10 and that was it.

I was offered 14003 doing a mock booking but can't change the room selection like I can with the Divina, some bug that will be worked out soon hopefully.

  9. I could do a mock booking and it looked like most categories were available. I'm in the US. it was $1,800 + for a Bella inside and up from there. Just saw Mike's post and I experienced the same issues with trying to select another cabin.

  10. I've just come to realize that some itineraries with Nassau, Phillipsburg and San Juan have extended time in San Juan depending on the order of the itinerary.

Most itineraries are docked in San Juan from 8 AM to 4 PM while the one I'm on is from 9 AM to 2 AM the next morning. On my itinerary( Oct 8, 2016) San Juan is the last stop. Does anyone know why this might be? I excited to be able to spend the evening in San Juan.

Thanks for any insights and or guesses. :)

  11. Since I booked a couple of months ago on the Seaside I noticed a new category called grand suite. I have one of the 14 aft larger suites ( at least they look that way graphically), are these considered to be the grand suites?

    Thanks

    Dave

  12. Yes, that's the size I packed in for our last 8 night cruise. However, the only difficulty for me is finding room for my sport coat. That had to go in a different bag.

I seriously need to plan out each day though... which pants I'll wear more than once in the Main Dining Room, which shorts can be worn more than one day, making sure shirts work with the shorts/pants I'm bringing, etc... It's funny though, even though I plan it out I still end up coming home with something I haven't worn each cruise.

    Dan

I wear my sportscoat when flying then I don't need the luggage space.
