  1. BTW, the one device means only one connected at a time. If you have someone else that wants to access via their device, turn off wifi on yours, have them enter the code for the first time as you did, and they can use the service as well. Just remember to turn off wifi for the device that is done and the one now being used, turn on wifi and you are all set. This helps avoid adding multiple accounts and apps to each others device. Keeps it clean if you will.

  2. We like Hampton Inn Fort Lauderdale Airport North Cruise Port (and Embassy Suites). Hampton Inn has a complimentary airport to hotel shuttle (which you don't need), clean and well kept hotel inside and out, nice rooms with comfy beds, complimentary breakfast. Computers and printer. A very short walk to a few fast food restaurants and a Publix super market in case you need something you forgot. Publix also has a limited selection of wine. The hotel contracts with a company that for a charge will take you to Port Everglades. We elect to take a taxi. We are staying there this March and taking SAS down to POM.

Your experience confirms a lot of my findings that this hotel does a great job keeping everything clean and enjoyable experience. Thank you for your response.

  3. We're staying at Springhill Suites. We've stayed at Embassy Suites before, but we have to have 3 rooms. There are 6 of us and we are all a bit "whiney" and insist on having our own bed and Springhill Suites is a little cheaper. Both have free shuttle from airport to hotel and free breakfast. Our needs are the same as yours, a clean bed for the night after our plane arrives around 3:30 p.m. We usually just order pizza and salads to be delivered to the hotel and chill out. They have a shuttle for a fee (I think it's $10 each) but we will probably use Uber or a taxi to get to the port. Embassy Suites is great too and they have the happy hour with free drinks for a couple of hours.

Thank you! We will use Lyft or Uber whichever is less expensive from MIA International to hotel and to the port. How was the noise at this hotel, cars and/or train? I saw a few that said the suites are on the highway side and is noisy.

  4. Hi Everyone, I have read many of the hotel reviews and have researched tripadvisor. We have narrowed our search down and would like to get your direct experience with these hotels. We usually stay at Courtyard Fort Lauderdale beach when we cruise out of Port Everglades. This time we do not get in until 4:30 PM on Friday in Miami prior to our cruise on HOS on Saturday. Because of the timing and cost of flying into Miami was significantly less expensive than FLL, we are considering a different hotel for the evening around Port Everglades and FLL. We want a clean room, good beds and possible places to eat either at the hotel or in walking distance and not noisy from road noise or trains. From our research we have narrowed it down to the following: Hampton Inn Fort Lauderdale Airport North Cruise Port, Courtyard Fort Lauderdale Airport and Cruise Port and SpringHill Suites Fort Lauderdale Airport and Cruise Port. We also considered Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina but recent reviews seem to show it is not as clean of a hotel. Priceline has a good price on it for our time in Fort Lauderdale, 104.

I would like to know your personal experience is/was when you stayed at any of these.

  5. I was on Allure over Thanksgiving, 2017 and paid 14.95 for Internet and Streaming. Going on Harmony in August, 2018 and the price is 15.99 for Internet and Streaming. For the 2017 cruise, I never saw the price go down. Remember, when you purchase one device for access, that does not mean that only one device can be used. Only one can be used at a time. All you have to do is turn off wifi and allow the person traveling with you to log into wifi and they are running on the same account. It is not tied to your device MAC address this past November. Just turn wifi on and off when done and the other person can use their device to connect. Worked great for us.

  6. We were on Allure for November 19 sailing and when we got back to Port Everglades, we ate a late breakfast and then heading down to promenade around 9:10. The evening before we asked customer service the latest we could stay on before we had to get off due to late afternoon flight. They said 10:15 - 10:30. Well, at 9:30 we were asked to leave the ship and we did. I asked the person scanning our sea pass how many were left on board and he said less than 100. Might not be the same for all cruises but this is what we experienced and we had tag number 37. BTW, all numbers were called by 9:00 AM....they are so efficient.

  7. Thank you very much for your post, it is very helpful.

Did you go to the MDR for your Chops reservation with your voucher? I'm okay with a port day but had hoped first formal day, but now I will be prepared. My dh loves Chops, although we haven't gone in about 2 years so either way, we will be going and hoping for a better experience than your experience. Hope you had a wonderful trip!

This is a good forum with information to help one enjoy their vacation. Happy to help as others have helped me. I sent an email to the restaurant Operations Coordinator (AL_RestaurantOperationsCoordinator02@rccl.com) for our table selection request. We sent it one week before our cruise and were granted our request. Just two of us so easier to do. When we got onto the ship one of the first things we did was to ensure the seating request. Once that was confirmed we then asked the MDR if they could help with reservation with Chops and they could. We told them we had a voucher and that was good enough for them. Hope your experience is better. I will say, the food regardless was better than MDR with the exception of lobster night.

  8. You're very welcome.:)

The MDR can also help with reservations at specialty restaurants, ours did last week while we were on Allure. We also had a coupon for a free specialty restaurant and had a stipulation of being connected to a port day versus at sea day. You may want to check with your TA to confirm.

Our experience with Chops, Good but not Excellent. The appetizers and deserts were very excellent. However, for a place that cooks steaks everyday could not cook a medium rare steak to save their lives. My wife first came medium plus and second medium rare. My came medium. I ate mine but she sent hers back. She would have again but we had a show and ate only the parts that were closer to medium rare. I hope your experience is better than ours.

  9. This is a great post and something my wife and I were wondering which night to use our specialty dinning that we received when booked through our travel agent. Our ship is Allure, Western, Labadee, Falmouth and Cozumel. If anyone has a copy please provide. I will update once we are off of our sailing on November 19.

  10. My wife and I have been to Jamaica several times and we have done DRF a couple of times and are looking for something different. We are leaning towards Adventure Zone Yaaman 3n1 and All Inclusive Thrill Seeker and Adventure Falls. Looking for good and bad experiences for each of these. Do you really get to choose 3 adventures in Adventure Zone out of how many?

We have been around the island on tours before. We have stayed many times in Montego Bay and Ohio Rios. We just have not been to either of these and hope someone can help from your experience.

    Thanks!

    Tim
