  1. Hi

I'm interested in cost, highlights and duration of a trip with Kitson

    Thanks

Kitson will drive you wherever you want to go. You create the tour. He does offer suggestions. Call him and find out.

Seems like a nice guy. You can see him on Facebook.

Have fun in Antigua. Thanks Clarke.

    Paul D.

  2. I'd like to try the Black Pineapple. I wonder if it is black on the outside. I read there is a black pineapple farm on Antigua. I'm going to add that to my tour.

    Thanks Clarke.

  3. Hi,

Kitson is charging me $150 for 4 people. We will most of the tourist spots, such as Nelson's Dockyard, Shirley Heights, Dow's Hill, Devil's Bridge, Fig Tree Drive, the rainforest and eat lunch on the beach somewhere.

If you want to stay on the beach for awhile, he will leave your there and pick you up later.

The tour will end in St. John's for shopping etc.. before getting back onboard the ship.

He will arrange a tour for where you want to go. Kitson told me that he has a 10 passenger van. If you get other people on the same cruise as you to sign-up, he will give you a discount. I am entitled to discount now, but will probably just not give him a tip.

Kitson can also arrange more private tours in a car, if that is what you prefer. His brother has a 7 passenger van and car.

The number is listed above. If you call him, tell Kitson, Clarke and now Paul gave you his number.

You can also contact him via Facebook.

  4. Thanks for your responses. I guess I will be hanging out on deck when we arrive in St. Thomas. Perhaps the Horizon Court when we depart.

The last ship I was on was the NCL Spirit. It is an older/smaller ship, but did have a nice lounge at the front of the ship.

Sailing into St. Thomas was very nice. Most beautiful place in the world, as far as I am concerned.

To be honest, I am a bit disappointed that the Regal Princess doesn't have a lounge or buffet in the front of the ship. That's one of the best parts of the trip - sitting in the lounge/buffet and seeing where we are going.

NCL Spirit had a lounge and the NCL Epic had the buffet at the front of the ship.

Either way, I'm looking forward to sailing on "The Love Boat" and am sure it will be fun.

I hope the activities people do origami.

  5. Grand Turk is approximately 7 miles x 1 mile or 6.9 sq miles with a maximum elevation of maybe 50 feet ASL. Irma and later Maria simply swept over the island. I have wondered where the locals went to survive the storms. While the ship pier may not have been "damaged" it may be that it can now only handle one ship. I imagine there was a lot of damage to the island not just the cruise center. While the cruise center may be "open", it makes one wonder how many venues will be open next month in the cruise center. The rest of the island will also need to be rebuilding and not with the economic power of Carnival Corp. Princess may well be in a more conservative mode than CCL. Mother Nature does what she wants and we just have to live with it.

    Carnival owns Princess.

  6. Based on my research, it doesn't appear as if there is a bar/lounge at the front of the ship on the Regal Princess. However, pictures seem to indicate something up on the top deck or deck just below that looks like a lounge.

I enjoy sitting in the lounge at the front of the ship on sail away and as we enter port. The buffet is fine too.

Is there a place, in doors, I can sit at the front of the ship with windows looking at where we are heading?

  7. HI Paul. You can contact Kitson "Big Lava" Howe at 1-268-785-6071. You can also WhatsApp him at the same number. I was in contact with him and he is interested. You can mention my name, Clarke, if you want if you contact him.

Thanks. I just spoke with Kitson and arranged a tour. He knew that you mentioned I might call. Thanks again.

  8. Thanks for your responses. I wasn't aware of the ports board. I'll look into that. Thanks.

I hope to find a driver/taxi that will take us around the island. Basically, a private tour guide.

    Paul

  9. My wife and I used a driver named Kitson Howe. We met him in port after the driver we had previously hired( a year in advance) for a private tour, didn't show up. Kitson took us to all the popular spots for less money. Very friendly man and he will customize your tour.

Thanks for the response. Would you happen to know how to contact him?

    Paul

  10. I read online that Blackbeard's Castle closed to the public in May. It seems it is up for sale and their website doesn't mention anything about tours/tickets. Can anyone confirm this?

Other than the beach/snorkeling etc.., what else do you recommend seeing in St. Thomas? The botanical gardens seem nice and I read about St. Peter's Great House.

    Thanks.

  11. Hi,

The above post is news to me. I was under the impression that I would receive a credit $225 (75 x 3) to spend how I wanted to on tours. I may have to change to the dining credit.

  12. Thanks again for the replies.

The museum seems fun and I like the fish fry suggestion too, as well as the walking tour.

The ship is in port between 8am and 3pm. The Atlantis tour starts at 9:15. I should be able to take the tour and see the museum, but probably not the walking tour.

I think I'll call Atlantis and find out about the admission policy. Since the price I booked includes tour credits, I want to take a tour, but, I also hope to see more. It seems as if I could basically see all of the good stuff on my own, except for Atlantis.

I may use the tour credits in St. Thomas instead now.

    Thanks

  13. Thanks for all of the great replies.

I read online that Atlantis is no longer selling day passes to the general public, so if you want to see it, you have to either stay there or be on an approved tour.

The NCL tour says it is 2.5 hours and leaves the ship at 9:15am. I assume we'd be back at the ship by 1pm. Then, I could check out the Pirate Museum or walk to the castle.

How long can you spend in the Pirate Museum? It seems as if I could walk to the castle and walk the stairs in 2 hours = enough time to be back onboard before the ship leaves.

If anyone can confirm that you must be on a tour to enter Atlantis, please respond.

  14. Hi,

I'll be taking the NCL Spirit in December. The ship will visit Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Maarten. I already have plans for St. Thomas and St. Maarten, but am wondering what to do in Nassau.

The ship has 2 different tours which appeal to me - Atlantis and a city tour.

I've been to Nassau before, but have never been to Atlantis. The tour I'm considering is for the resort and aquarium only. It doesn't include the water park and beach, which is fine with me. I'd like to see the hotel and fish.

The city tour includes a 1 hour bus ride around the island with stops at a fort and a castle. It also stops outside Atlantis, but doesn't go in. The tour also includes a 1 hour underwater boat ride to look at the fish.

    What do people recommend?

    Thanks
