In my experience priority boarding now only means if you arrive before boarding begins, elites (and suites) and platinums wait in their respective lounges and are boarded in order before everyone else.  Once boarding starts the lounges aren't used and all passengers just move through check-in directly onto the ship.

Ques:  does this include the mini-suites? Thanks

If your flight is on time you'll be fine.  If something goes wrong, what is your plan B?

Thank you for your response. We changed our flight to arrive the day before now. Still, with the way the airlines are now, we are keeping our fingers crossed.   But at least now there will be about 20 hours before boarding.

  3. Hello, I have a question of when you can start boarding the Emerald Princess at the Port Everglades?  My flight into Fort lauderdale has changed. I am thinking of coming in a different day now. My new time of arriving is 11:00am of embarkation day.  Will I have time?

A van taxi easily available to FLL or an Uber XL will give you enough room for 4 plus luggage.  Ask them to enter Port Everglades using Eisenhower Blvd and stop at the Walgreens on the corner of Eisenhower and 17th Street.

Thank you capriccio for this info. I was thinking I might not find a van taxi at pickup.  But if they are readily available I will be rest assured.

  5. I have gone on the excursion to Caribou Crossing. The lunch was good, chicken as others have said. Plenty to eat and fun to sit and meet others on the excursion. The museum was interesting too. I and my daughter went on the cart ride with the sled dogs hooked up. They are very strong and impressive. We too, went in June, we did not have snow but the ride was still fun. You will be in a metal cart with tires. My advice is go, you will enjoy it.

  6. I was in a Neptune Suite on the Amsterdam last September for a 14-day Alaska cruise (r/trip out of Seattle). I can tell you what my experience was like --

    1. Canapés delivered every day in your cabin: only if you order it. They're not automatically delivered. I never did it as I was traveling by myself and tended to eat supper early-ish (5:30-5:45 or so). Ordering canapés just seemed like too much food to me. I think you can order those via the concierge or stewards? (Not sure -- someone will have the answer ... )

    2. Fresh flowers -- yes, a small arrangement on the coffee table, but they're not changed every day. I think I had maybe 4 or 5 arrangements over the 14 days, but I didn't really pay much attention. I just know that they always looked nice. You'll also have fresh fruit every day.

    3. No personal butler, but you'll have two room stewards and the services of a concierge in the Neptune Lounge. (I can't compare it to NCL since the September cruise was my first cruise ever.)

My cabin was 7040 -- directly across from the aft elevators on the port side of the ship, and it was a wonderful location. The ship is small enough that you don't feel like you're in a floating city and there are < 1400 passengers so it's never very crowded. Food is outstanding, although room service breakfast left a lot to be desired the two days I ordered it. I did much better just going to the MDR, but you'll also have access to the Pinnacle Grill for breakfast if you want.

Let me know if there's anything else ... for me, the extra expense was definitely worth it even though I didn't take advantage of everything it had to offer. It's a large spacious room, which really worked well for my slight tendency toward claustrophobia.

Artsycraftsy, did any noise from the deck above your cabin bother you?

Thank you for your information, my daughter and I will be in 7045 in a few months.
