  1. Hello; We will be in this cabin in April our of Tampa. Does anyone have any knowledge of this cabin or stayed in it? Tips appreciated. Thank you.

    Larry :)

Also what are the speciality restaurants and their covers?

Although I have not stayed in that room, I believe it is across from the self service laundry room. Other than that it is a typical balcony room.

The specialty restaurant is the steakhouse and the cost was $35 pp in Sept. and was very good.

  2. I was the original poster that mentioned the "CHEATAH MAIL pomo"

First, THANK YOU jjh9 for the posting. I submitted mine and have my fingers crossed.

EVERYONE ELSE expecting a $200 onboard credit.????........

NOTE: and this is just an observation so everyone doesn't come back to this thread or complaining to the Guest services desk with your printed confirmation asking "why they do not have a $200 OBC?"

...in jjh9's original post I noticed that their next cruise is a 12 DAY cruise on the SUNSHINE. Other Carnival promotions usually allow "Up to $200 OBC" which is depending on the length of your cruise.

    $50 - 3-5 day cruises

    $75 - 6 Day Cruises

    $100 - 7-9 day cruises

    $200 - 10+ days

This would make sense for jjh9 to receive a confirmation expecting a $200 on board credit on their upcoming 12 day SUNSHINE cruise. However, if everyone else (like myself) is only taking a shorter 3-5 day cruise I am only expecting (if it actually gets approved the usual $50 OBC.

Remember we are all accessing the link that was originally provided to a 12-day booking so all those number coding in the link could be referencing the credit amount for a 12-day cruise.

We also do not know what the sail date requirements or window are for THIS PROMOTION? In the past, all of these Mastercard OBC offers had specific sailing dates that were eligible.

I always check for this promotion before every cruise I book. I am Platinum and have managed to use links that other people have posted and they have always worked for me (5 separate times actually) but I always only received the OBC for the length of MY CRUISE not the original poster's confirmation.

Other things to keep in mind I have experienced in the past

1- My OBC normally only shows up a week or two prior to sailing or I simply have a letter in my cabin informing me of it. They may wait to apply it to make sure you do not change your card to a non-mastercard at the last minute?

2- It usually goes through as long as I have a (ANY) MASTERCARD assigned to my Sail n Sign account, not by the way I purchased or paid for my initial booking. I've used multiple forms of payment for the bookings, but as long as I had a MASTERCARD on my sail n sign it was all good.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL and I hope everyone receives their share. I just wanted to point out the $200 confirmation now before everyone gets in line with their printed confirmations onboard expecting an instant $200 OBC for a $300 cruise. :)

Thank you for taking the time to explain this. It makes perfect sense.

  3. I am going in assuming I will not get it- not factoring it in to my "mental" OBC. If I do get it, WONDERFUL! If not, I am not out a darn thing- other than the less than 15 seconds it took to click the link, and fill out the form.

That's a good way to look at it...I think I'll do the same.

  4. I just submitted the Carnival MastercardPlatinum form for each of our B2B cruises. I am a Platinum member.

I booked both of them using AMEX & have paid one of them off. However, I just went in and paid some more of the other cruise using my PLATINUM Mastercard. I also went in to Manage My Cruise and put in this same Platinum MC for my S & S account.

I'm mentioning that I used my PLATINUM MC because I'm wondering if that is what the Gold & Platinum mean. There was no link using MastercardRed.

The gold and platinum refer to the Carnival ranking.

If you are gold with Carnival the OBC is $50, if you are platinum it's $200.

  5. Thanks for this great information! I filled it out and got the Thank You page, as well. Of course, final payment was due earlier this month and it was all paid with my Visa, but I have changed my onboard account to my MasterCard and I will hope for the best!

Well it would appear that the "thank you" page means it worked. If you take it with you at least you have it in writing.

  6. I JUST filled the form for our August cruise and received confirmation for $50. This is the link I used

    www.carnival.com/mastercardgold

Thank you so much. I was able to click on your link to get the application. I will be happy with the $50.00 if I get it even though I am platinum. When I type in the link changing gold to platinum it does not come up for some reason. Of course, I'm no computer genius either so I could be doing something wrong. $50.00 is better than nothing.

  7. I filled out the form and it said:

" Thank you! You will see a $200 onboard credit posted to your Sail & Sign account onboard your cruise. Enjoy!"

I PRAY it's there, I don't know what else to do, I checked my account online and it's not there but it may take 24 hours or so. I don't know what else to do. Any suggestions?

I think you will be all set as long as you print that "thank you" page and bring it with you. Even if it's not posted you'll have proof that it was approved. Now I'll ask one more time...can you please tell me where you found the form to fill out? Thanks.

  8. I clinked the link in the email and this is what is says:

    PLATINUM

To be eligible to receive the $200 onboard credit, pre-register to participate and use a MasterCard card when purchasing a qualifying Carnival cruise. To pre-register, fill out and submit the MasterCard Onboard Credit Promotion form accessible via the URL provided in the mailed offer. Form must be submitted by 07/19/2013. The onboard credit is provided for use only on your onboard Sail & Sign account up to a maximum of $200 per stateroom on applicable sailings clearly stated in the mailed offer. Offer has no cash value. Limit one onboard credit per MasterCard cardholder. Limit one offer redemption per cabin. Offer is capacity controlled and is subject to change or cancellation without prior notice.

MasterCard and the MasterCard Brand Mark are registered trademarks of MasterCard International Incorporated.

Are you able to give me the URL provided in the mailed offer they refer to? I did not get either a mailed offer or any type of email about this although I'm platinum with Carnival and did book upcoming cruise with the Carnival MasterCard. All attempts using the sites mentioned in this thread have been unsuccessful at locating the application for this promotion. Thank you.

  9. please post back their reply, am also looking for transfer heathrow to dover, will be 4 adults, luggage, wheelchair & small mobility scooter !

    karen

We did book with Folkestone and also had 4 adults but choose the 5 seater to insure a bit more room. The price is 136 pounds plus 5 pounds for driver's parking at Heathrow. They do require patment in advance by credit or debit card. If you use a credit card there is an additional fee of 3 pounds. Still came out more reasonable than most we checked and the transaction was handled easily through e-mails with Kaya at Folkestone.

    Barbara

  10. OK, that's four plus luggage = a small mpv/van.

And from Heathrow, very different to central London.

Not sure what you mean by a three-hour tour. A simple direct transfer takes a little under two hours by motorway. Motorway makes sense for the first part of the journey, but adding an hour to the journey time would allow you to cut across-country on more scenic roads, for instance via Edenbridge, Royal Tonbridge Wells & Lamberhurst.

Yes, £185 sounds heavy for a simple transfer.

Folkestone taxis quote £126. Adding a stop on or close to the route, such as a couple of hours at Leeds Castle or Canterbury, will push that up to mebbe £160/£170. A more scenic route would probably do the same.

    Worth asking for a quote?

Sorry, not heard of Penguin. But there are dozens & dozens of transfer organisations based around London's airports.

I checked out their website, which pretty-well dispels my fears that they might merely be a web-based agency which simply farms out jobs

    JB :)

Thank you for the info. I just sent off a request for a quote from Folkestone as you suggested. You may be answering two of us at once. My inquiry is for transfer only to Dover from Heathrow.:)

  11. Or to put it another way, £144 each-way?

And between Dover & central London (not airports)?

That's about the going rate, excluding deviations, with http://www.folkestonetaxi.com/ and

http://www.dovertaxis.com/ both of whom are frequently used by CC members.

    JB :)

After seeing you mention dovertaxis several times I e-mailed them for a quote. They replied with an amount of 185 and that seemed a bit high to me. PenguinsLTD quoted a price of 148. This is for 4 passengers, with luggage, from Heathrow to Dover. Have you heard of Penguins?

  12. We are not happy with any of the sleep, park, fly options. Reading the reviews it sounds like the Sleep Inn really sucks and we do know its in a lousy neighborhood. Most of the other motels mentioned in the posts are located outside the beltway near BWI...which is a twenty minute drive to the port (could be more if the traffic is bad). Our concern about these places is how long one would have to stand around the port for the transfer back to the motel (after the cruise). We are considering just parking at the port even thought it will cost us about $70 more than some of the motel deals (we are taking a 12 day cruise). We figure it will save us a lot of time and hassle after the cruise. Its really a shame that nobody can find a decent deal near the Inner Harbor or Fells Point.

    Hank

Recently booked the Brookshire Suites at the Inner Harbor for $129 Stay and Cruise Package. This includes free breakfast, evening reception, and free shuttle from hotel to cruise terminal. We do not need the parking so not sure if this includes parking. It's worth a call to the hotel if interested.
