  1. I saw a post about this maybe 6 months ago but can’t find it now.

I want to make my list of things to try. So many of you posted drinks that sounded yummy and I should have made my list then.

I like the sweet frozen type drink but I don’t want to settle for the watered down bottom shelf liquor in the drink of the day. I don’t like tons of ice cubes but do like them in a frozen type drink.

My friend is a wine drinker and drinks pretty much anything.
I will be on Oasis of the Seas the end of July. They have the Lime bar.

  2. I was thinking of signing up for the 3 meal Specialty Dining package for my friend and I as a gift for her birthday.

I looked at the different restaurants and would like Chops, Giovanis and.Wonderland.
I called RC and no one knew the answer to my question, I was tossed around to 4 different people. I know one of you would know.

Are these specialty restaurants “set price” or are they ala carte?  The meal plan gives $35 credit to ala Cart. Does it cover the full meal in the 3 I have chosen?

it seems crazy to pay $101 plus tax for 3 meals of $35 each. I would be paying $$101 for $105 worth of food!

Also, does the dining plan cover the specialty drinks at places like Wonderland? Meaning… are the drinks part of the whole experience or extra?

My son and DIL went a few months ago and their $45 pp dining experience came to  $155. They did try every drink offered and all the food, and raved about it.
We do have the drink package so all our other alcohol is covered if the drink package is accepted in restaurants.

  3. I was thinking about trying Wonderland on my next cruise in July, however I might change my mind if this is a correct bill.

My son and DIL just got off their cruise and enjoyed Wonderland.

They had a drink package but not the dining package.

They were told this restaurant would cost $55 each plus tax.

They just received their credit card and were charged $158.

Are drinks not included in cost?

They did try all the specialty drinks there.

If that is the true charge I will grab the dining plan for $166 that is being offered for my ship now and get drinks after my meal.

  4. This might be silly to some but I can’t find the answer.

I am cruising on RC Oasis in July.

I’m thinking about getting the dining plan instead of going to the regular dining and buffets since that’s a been there done that thing.

I know the wait staff in the main dining room will get tips from our daily charge even if we don’t eat there, but what about the staff in the specialty dining? Do I tip them, tip them cash, give them my room key???

Also, Fleischmann's active yeast contains the yeast strain Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which contains the ADH enzyme that digests ethanol.  Mix some of the dry power in yogurt before drinking and watch how you don't get as drunk.

I never heard this. I looked it up and it says prevents hangover. Does anyone know if it prevents getting drunk? I want to get my moneys worth with my drink package… lol

  6. I’m on the same ship. We had a 3 night, cancelled then went for 4 night, cancelled then 8 night in April but friend just got her job back so we cancelled. Booked on Oasis. Last cabin in Boardwalk. We will have views of water, boardwalk, and water show from our balcony. I can’t wait! Drink package already booked

  7. When I was in the Bahamas on my last cruise in 2019 we took one of those tour boats over. It was $5 and they pushed tips so we gave $2 each.
There was the “captain” and one “crew member”. ( brother, friend???)

The crew gave a nice tour as we drove by all the houses telling us which celebrity owned it. He also gave some history of the area. I enjoyed it and thought it was much better than the taxi we took before.

  8. April will be my 8 th cruise on RC. I have never taken advantage of any of the perks including exclusive check in because I have been with others who were first time cruiser.
I want to try some this next cruise.
Where do I go for the members greeting breakfast?

i am going with another first time cruiser( maybe it’s me, my friends never want to go again). Can we both go through the priority line since the room is booked in my name?

What other perks are available worth doing for the Gold Member that I should do?

My best cruise hack is . . .

I take formal wear, in an effort to preserve and promote the traditions of luxury vacations

I also dress “ better” while dining and for the evening show.
I sat at my table last year with my son and daughter-in-law in dress and button down shirt with others in pool coverups and t-shirts.
I remember when they were turned away in that garb and told to go to the buffet. Now their bare feet are bumping into my legs.

  10. I am sharing a room with my sister. My son and his girlfriend are sharing another room. We are both staying in balcony rooms.

I have heard that walls are thin so to prevent embarrassment I requested we not be side by side but in all honesty I want to be able to sit on the balcony in the evenings next to them, as do they.

Right now they are 4 rooms down from us.

Can anyone tell me if every “sound” would be heard through the walls?

  11. My sister and I are going on a RC cruise in September. She is getting the alcohol drink package while I am getting the soda package. This has already been approved by RC.

How do they work the drink packages to know the difference? Do they use photo I’d?

I do enjoy a pretty fru-fru drink at sailing and may have 1 or 2 a day but not enough to make the drink package worth it to me while they might run out of liquor with my sister onboard. I plan on charging my drink cost back to the room.
