  1. DIST-THDR The stories re your trip have been relayed through the grapevine/internet to some on our boat. One fellow is texting with his friends who leave for their cruise in a week or so. Viking NA and their TA say they know nothing of this and also aren't aware of the rotating docks strikes.

The philosophy on our boat (so far) has been "when we know, you know". I did hear the director on the phone handling a weather caused issue (high water) and we was telling us what they were doing immediately.

Yours does sound like an unique experience. I hope they treat you and the rest of your fellow cruisers well.

  2. We are a week behind you, on the Var. Accurate descriptions other than our bathroom floor heating isn't too consistent. For anyone coming after us, the weather should be good. This rain is abnormal according to,the guides. Everything is very efficient.

One thing I would mention is that Viking has done well with elevator for those that need it. Unfortunately these old cities aren't as well designed. A fellow using a scooter was unable to find an accessible washroom in Vienna.

Dinners are leisurely. Great service. Many interesting folks to share meals with.

Teeny describes the room size. It's very efficient. With this inclement weather, a balconey would be wasted. For warmer weather, it would be lovely. We are enjoying the French balconey. If you spend most of your time in other parts of the boat, the lower level would be fine too. Absolutely no complaints heard from those that have them.

  3. This tea was discussed by Chris who does the talks on on-shore shopping. He said it had won the vote for best Afternoon Tea. It fills up fast so if you plan on going, I'd make your reservations now. It doesn't happen everyday. I believe Wednesday is one of the days.

A tour of the perfumery alone is worth the effort just to see this lovely old home.

I purchased the library of ten samples for $30. I thought it was a nice souvenir since I don't wear much perfume.
