  1. I would go with option 2, the Elation out of Jacksonville. You won't have to worry about making it back home for your class. I would not drive that far with limited time. Not to mention what if there is a car accident or road construction. You can still have a lovely anniversary on the Elation. If you have a few extra dollars splurge and get a couples massage and buy a cake from the Fun Shops. Hope you have a great anniversary cruise.

  2. I have no desire to cruise on the biggest ships. I like Fantasy class. We will be on our first Spirit class in August. I would rather not embark and disembark with lots more people. I wish they would build some more smaller class or ships. The only disadvantage of some of the Fantasy class ships is that many of them don't have the additional "balcony rooms" they added to a couple of the ships (Fascination and Sensation).

I loved our aft extended balcony we had on the Fascination.

  3. Wwwaaaaayyyyyy too many people in a cabin for me....

I would get two cabins to have another bathroom, not to mention the extra room!

I hope your family has a wonderful cruise!!

I agree five to a room is too many people in most cabins. I would get two cabins, maybe one outside cabin and one inside cabin across from each other. We have three to a cabin and it can get too crowded. That's why we now get a balcony room, so we can go outside while the other person is getting dressed.

  4. Not on a cruise but we just got back from a trip to visit family out of state and I forgot to pack my bipap mask. I had the rest of my equipment but no mask. I have bad sleep apnea so the first night I didn't sleep. The next day I spent most of the day trying to find a replacement mask so I could get a full night of rest.

I'm glad this didin't happen on our upcoming cruise in August because I'm sure it would be impossible to find a bipap mask on the cruise ship.

  5. We usually have 3 to a room. We try to get a balcony so my husband sits outside while me and our 19 year old daughter shower and dress. When we don't have a balcony room, we try to get out of the room as much as possible. I like to sit on the back of the ship off of lido deck/buffet area. There are a few tables and chairs back there that are usually not used. I think of it as my balcony area. Also sit on promenade at table and chairs inside and look out of the large windows. I also like to sit in the coffee bar area.

Use the room mainly for sleeping, dressing and showering.

  6. Purchased my gift card on Friday. Previous poster was correct, Publix now limits the amount of gift card you can put on a credit card to $50.00, however, the cashier I worked with was AMAZING. She let me purchase 3 $50.00 gift cards in separate transactions and applied the $15.00 savings to the last card. I got the $150 in gift cards for $135 and was still able to use my credit card for the points. AWESOME !!! I LOVE Publix :)

They let me do the same thing yesterday at the Publix in Gadsden, Alabama. We did it in 3 different transactions.:)

  7. I would pick the Dream. I like Grand Cayman and Cozumel. I haven't been to Mo Bay on a cruise just a second honeymoon to Sandals. I prefer the western itinerary over the bahamas. Also you could fly in a day or two early and enjoy New Orleans. We used to take our daughter there when she was younger. Love the Zoo, Aquarium, Insectarium and other kid friendly attractions in NOLA.

  8. Does it really matter which one? If they really wanted to develop the market they would send something other than a 20 plus year old ship.

I would happily sail on any Fantasy class ship out of Mobile. I hope we get one that has the balcony upgrade. We sailed on the Fascination last March on one of the aft balcony rooms. I would love to be able to sell in one of those rooms again.

I can't wait to find out when the ships will start to sail out of Mobile.
