Went with Hurtigruten this past January. I had always wanted to see the Northern Lights and was blessed to have that wish granted - a display on 3 nights. :)

These are small ferries though, and it was VERY choppy at times. Bad enough to close the lifts. I was extremely glad I took medication with me! :eek:

Maybe it's just me but I'm very worried about buying online. There are no stores selling formal type dresses where I live and all the Quebec sites I visit are very expensive. If you have had a good experience with an online vendor, can you please post.

First cruise in february and still missing 1 formal outfit.

I have a lovely dress I bought from eBay - Ever Pretty, who are in China. Took about 3 weeks to arrive, but very inexpensive and the dress is really nice.

Although not directly related to Sapphire, thought I would share my very recent experience with laundry on the Crown Princess. Washing machine and driers were a 40 minute cycle and cost 2 dollars each. Washing was done fine, but I thought the drier was less than efficient - even after a full cycle the clothes were still quite damp.

Very handy to get laundry done though, less packing!

Wonderful film- one of my favourites. Claude Rains played the psychiatrist- great actor. Bette Davis was fantastic too- and the outfits she wore on the ship - can you just imagine one of those enormous hats nowadays !! a different era of travel altogether.
