March 2015 was last drydock. So....next one should be late 2019/2020....

The best zipline in Alaska is at Icy Strait Point.
Absolutely... and Icy Strait is a nice change of pace.... from the other ports of call.

I think the old production shows were FAR superior to the current Playlist shows. I don't even bother going to see the Playlist shows. But...if you enjoy them....that's all that matters.

If I was booking a cruise for late 2019/early 2020....that's when I would start looking. If you decide on Carnival.....hope you have a wonderful time.

2019 itineraries...around Dec/Jan 2018. 2020 itineraries...about a year later.

Spirit class is my absolute favorite. The passenger to space ratio is best of any in the fleet. At times....it's hard to believe that there are at least 2400+ other passengers on the ship with you. It's a shame they won't be building any more. All major cruise lines are building the larger "pack em and stack em" ships.

Unfortunately..........no!

I was on a Princess cruise in Nov. 2015 walking thru the Lido deck during breakfast. The doors open from the pool area..and man in his late 60"s 'early 70's walks in holding his laundry bag. His clothes were wrinkled... he was unshaven...looked like had been living under a freeway overpass for years. He walks up to the pastry bar..and starts filling his laundry bag with various pastries. Every crew member and passenger was staring in disbelief.. as he put the bag over his shoulder & walked out with 40-50 pastries. Never saw him again for the rest of the cruise.

The question about Carnival building more Spirit class ships...has been asked on John Heald's FB page several times. Each time he answers that only the Vista class size(or bigger) will be built. That's a shame..the Spirit class is my favorite. As Goldilocks would say.....it fits just right!

The Freedom is departing on a 14 day Panama Canal cruise on October 28, 2017. Her last dry dock was in 2014...so not due for one ...until 2018 or 2019.

Wish Zihuatanejo would fix their pier. Port was cancelled on the Zjourneys cruise because of this.
Sadie,
I was on the Journey cruise when they cancelled our stop. I love Zihuatanejo...its my favorite Mexican port.

Hi all,
I'm hoping someone has the answer to this question.
I had a total knee replacement 2 years ago and this is the first cruise I've been on since then. My husband I are sailing on the Vista next month and it occurred to me today that I had better check to see if I need some kind of paperwork for security checkpoint purposes. I know years ago when my mother had knee replacement surgery the doctors office provided her with an ID card, but I never received anything like that, perhaps times have changed. I've got a call into my ortho's office and am waiting to hear back from them and want to make sure I provide them with the information I will need. Do I need a letter or ID card, is this going to be an issue when I go to check in for our cruise?
Thanks in advance for the help to this question.
My wife had both knees replaced 7 years ago. She carried a letter with her to show security...but they always pulled her aside....and checked her knee with their magic wand.
She no longer carries the letter.. tells them both knees replaced ...and it takes 5 seconds to wand her knees....and she's on her way!
Enjoy your cruise!

....and DON'T put them them in checked luggage. Carry on...ONLY! Hope you have a great cruise.:)

Happy Veterans Day to all of my Brothers & Sisters!!!!!!!!!!!!:)
ocs1985......thank you......and same to you!

Awww bummer.
We are not really fans of the Splendor so will probably be doing more Princess cruises when she comes here.
I was hoping for a ship with the full 2.0 upgrades. Oh well.:(
We feel the same way.....more Princess cruises.
-
Sooo excited to get a ship with a 7 night itinerary to Tampa but anyone know when/if Miracle is scheduled to get the 2.0 upgrades?

When the Miracle was in dry dock last year it received.......Red Frog Pub, Alchemy Bar, Cherry On Top and a new Sports Bar.

This is a question that has been asked many times on the ****book page of Carnival & John Heald(Carnivals brand ambassador). The standard answer is "We have no plans at this time to change this policy."
Good luck!

Military vets get OBC too. Im not exactly sure amounts and if im remembering correctly Royal Caribbean does it too.
To me vetrans should cruise for 99% off. But thats just me
Princess also gives veterans OBC......

Huge ships! I'm hoping when the new large ships come into service, they will move an older Spirit class ship permanently to Tampa for 7-8 day cruises. That's my wish....
Spirit class ships are IMO....the perfect size ship!:)

We haven't been on Carnival in a while but are booked on the Sunshine for 12/18. I saw a reference made to Playlist Production while other ships have Stage Shows. Can someone tell me the difference, please?
Playlist Production shows have canned music and IMO..... are glorified karaoke. Stage Shows have a live orchestra & talented performers. On my last Carnival cruise...DW and I saw our first Playlist Production and within 2-3 minutes we looked at each other..and just shook our heads. We stayed for the entire show...but won't go to another one.
Miss the days of a live orchestra and talented singers like...Sharon Cornes, Rudy Lowe and Ned Rifken. Go to a Playlist Production...and see what you think.

My cruise is in March 2017 , I just booked it but the women at carnival said that all the FTTF are gone. Is there anyway to still get the FTTF package ?? Please help if possible

Keep checking daily.....there's always a chance someone will cancel. There are probably many others that also want FTTF....so you gotta check as much as possible.

The situation sure would've ruined my day. All set to go cruising and **** happens. OP...I feel your frustration....but you should direct your frustration at your daughters boyfriend and U.S. customs. Carnival is NOT at fault and owes you zero. I hope your next cruise is trouble free.

A couple weeks ago on John Heald's ****book page.....he said there will be more in 2018. But..he didn't say from which ports.
I know the 13 day Journey cruise from Long Beach didn't sell well. And....I've heard rumors:eek:.....that the Galveston Journey cruise(s)...were less than full. That's a shame....because we LOVED our 13 day to Mexico....and would do it again and again....if offered.

[quote name='maritaysa']With the announcement that the Panama Canal is officially widened, has there been anymore Dancing of the Ships ann
ounced?[/quote
Your question has been asked on John Healds ****book page 2-3 times in the last month. Each time he replied..."2018"...so maybe....just maybe.....2018?
ALL time FAVORITE Ship
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
Spirit. Cruised 2x to Alaska & 5x to Mexico on her. And being a Spirit class ship ...the best layout and space per passenger ships Carnival will ever build. The newer ship classes make me appreciate what a canned sardine feels like.
