The salmon is very good. I got it twice on our last 7 day cruise

I'm proud of you. You have made a very responsible choice!!!! There is always tomorrow and you might not get that chance on the Pride in the near future. The Spirit class ships are ones you don't want to miss. Being on a budget all of my life I understand your position. Not going over your head ($) will save lots of frustration when you return and have a bigger debt than you feel comfortable with.
I think you will LOVE Half Moon Cay.....EVERYBODY does and sounds like you have fun planed for Freeport. Personally I LOVED Grand Turk swimming with the beautiful fish that would swim by, but then I'm a beach person. They also have a beautiful pool area and Margarittaville.
I just wish we had a drivable port to cruise out of. I hate
wasting fours days on the road.
Be sure to write a review when you come back w/pictures and let us know what a WONDERFUL time you had!!!!!

Thanks for the information.

I have and use one of these on every cruise. Google "Walking cane with Seat" and you will find many options and prices for a foldable cane that has a built in seat. Mine cost around $20 and has been used many times on cruises and airports and car rental lines. Folded it becomes a regular walking cane.

When the roll from side to side becomes too much, turn 90 degrees so that it is now a non-issue pitch.
LOL! Great answer!

I'm confused. Are you sure you are asking about the right ship? The Fantasy, according to deck plans, has only two types of suites, the Grand suite on deck 6 and Junior suites (some obstructed). There are no owners or owners penthouse suites. Just wondering.

Where do you find these deck plans?
Google "Carnival Magic deck plans". select the post from cruise critic. Choose what floors you want. This is m favorite site for deck plans

Not at all. There is nothing wrong with me not wanting to sail out of certain ports that have a history of issues. Why should you care what I do? If someone told me they didn't want to sail out of Baltimore, or Miami, or wherever it doesn't affect me at all and I wouldn't think twice about it. Why should my vacation habits be any concern of yours?
TOUCHE! You have a right to your opinion and no one has a right to tell you differently. Some people have trouble minding their own business.

Has anyone stayed in any of these cabins? They are cat. 4D and the only ones being offered on Deck 5 for 2 people.
They look very small on the chart. Any info on them would be appreciated. Thanks
cruisedeckplans.com has a video that shows the room. It has 170 sq. feet. There is the normal bathroom and the bed with the normal desk arrangement at the foot of the ed. The closet looked like it was only two sections and is across from the bathroom door. There is no couch or chair. The room is pretty small.

I'm looking into the Miracle for next February with my husband and son, who will be 7 at that time. Currently, there is a difference of $330 total between the premium balcony and a standard balcony stateroom. I'd love a bit more of an idea about the differences between these rooms. I tried the almighty Google machine, but found conflicting information about the size of the room and balcony. Is there a significant difference in size? Other differences that add to the "premium" factor? Do you think it's a worthwhile upgrade at this expense? Extra credit for pictures. :p
If you google "cabin 6277 Carnival Miracle pictures" you will find some pics.

There are only two of these cabins per floor. Deck 4 has the obstructed view of the lifeboats.
We had one of these on the Legend and loved it!. The room is almost the size of a suite and has a nice balcony as the room itself is wider.
These rooms are only found on the Spirit class ships. ENJOY!

Vacation or not, I think that 3am is way too late to have a child out.
I agree with you completley!!!

We were on the Dream (sister ship) with a cabin nearer to elevators and heard occasional music from the Lido but barely.

Thanks so much for your review. I'm glad you had a very good time!

Sofa only on deck 6.
HMMM, I just did a search for cabin 6483, aft wrap on the Conquest with a visual tour and there is no couch in either corner cabin
-
6,7 or 8 are fine...
But they have no sofas, right?
-
Yes, all deck 4 (upper promenade) deck has the 7 1/2' deep balconies. Google "Nieuw Amsterdam deck plans" and choose cruise critic to view each deck separately and you can see the difference.

order liquor the first week so it gets delivered at the end of the first cruise and you can drink it on the second :)
I believe they no longer deliver. You have to pick it up yourself in the morning. Don't know if you will have to go a security check again or not

Why is this a hassle? The distance from Hobby to Galveston is actually shorter than Orlando to Port Canaveral. Have you ever cruised out of there?
Every Gulf port has issues with fog and then only 3-4 months out of the year. Tampa has it all of the time.
You can't blame Galveston for CCLs screwed up shuttle service or a late Super Shuttle driver.
Everyone seems to hate Galveston, yet soon CCL will have 3 ships there. I guess no one has bothered to tell them that everyone hates cruising out of there.
My, my, we seem a little defensive. But that's ok. To experienced people it probably is a no brainer. But we aren't familiar with that amount of traffic or the area. Yes, we have cruised out of Port Canaveral and there is no comparison to the hassel people speak of to that port. It takes 40 min on a very quiet stretch of highway and we rent a car so we can have transportation for the extra day we spend there. Cape Canaveral/Cocoa beach is really very tame in the late fall. recently we have flown into Melborne and loved it. A 20 min direct drive from a very small airport. Not knocking Galveston but it's just not for us. Different strokes for differentfolks.

I don't consider it worth the hassle. The first time I sailed out of Galveston my friend that I was cruising with and her husband picked me up at the airport and her DH drove us the rest of the way in (Her brother picked us up, dropped me off at the airport). BUT and this is a big but, Galveston has issues with fog. We were delayed by hours on our return because of the fog, and my understanding it was not an isolated issue.
A few years later we took Carnival transfer from the airport to the cruise terminal. Nightmare! They didn't have enough buses for all the passengers at the airport. We waited over 2 hours for a bus, and when it arrived it was every person for themselves, everyone trying to get on that bus. Carnival, or the company that handles transfers only had two teenagers trying to control the boarding of the buses. One of them threw up their hands in despair and walked away.
From the cruise terminal back to the airport I had hired a car & driver from Super Shuttle, who was suppose to pick us up at 8:00 (We were off the boat and though customs by 7:30, was he was 2 and half hours late, we missed our flight. It was Spring Break and it was only by the grace of God and a United ticket agent (Who has secured her place in Heaven IMO) that we were able to get on another flight later that day.
So, IMO, a friend or family member willing to drive you is your best bet (But the traffic from Houston to Galveston is surreal). Actually your best bet is to sail from Ft. Lauderdale of Miami.
Thanks so much for your honesty which I believe is more common than people let on. Striking Galveston off my list until or IF the Breeze ever comes back to Florida (if I live that long lo,!)

She's supposed to in the dry dock.
And I really hope you are right!!. Would you mind sharing where you got this information. As far as I know even John Heald doesn't know for sure. Thanks!

I haven't been on Sunshine, but have sailed the Magic many times. I Love the Magic and after they add Guys and the Blue Iguana she will be Perfect!! :)
Sorry, but I just did a bit of investigation and so far it doesn't look like the Magic will be getting either. Bummer!

It would have to be a 90 degree tilt to be on its side. 180 degrees and it would have been upside down. Just sayin'.
