  1. Sailing on the Silhouette soon and am wondering if the new room service charge is showing up?

This comment may not be popular, however, when I sign on to a cruise that is touted as full service, that is exactly what I expect.  No additional costs other than what I bargained for.

Many times my sissy and I prefer to have dinner in the quiet of our room and order nothing more than a salad.  No, my legs are not broke and I'm grateful that I do not have a disability that keeps me out of the buffet due to mobility issues.  What makes me angry is I am paying my gratuities  plus always extra for a room service delivery.  Now you want to charge me a flat fee for a salad and tea? Bah humbug. This is a watered down, nickel and dime deal.

  2. My spouse and I are scheduled to sail on 11/5/21 on a TA out of South Hampton.

On renewing his passport, it was sent back as the picture taken was not satisfactory.  He sent it again on July 27th enclosing a check for expedited processing.

We are 47 days out and no action or processing has yet to take place. I have been in tears since last night about this and am worried he will not have a passport to travel.

I cannot interpret the policy and need help.  Our hard earned money is on the line and I so need a vacation so bad.

    Please help

    I thank you CC friends

  3. Information on Impacted & Cancelled Cruises

    Updated May 20, 2021 1:30pm PT

Like so many facets of life, travel has been hit hard by recent events. It is with a heavy heart that Princess Cruises has made the extremely difficult decision to temporarily pause our global ship operations. We know you were looking forward to sailing with us, and we apologize and share in your disappointment over these cancellations. You don’t need to take any action to receive the default compensation offer. You can find out details of your compensation by clicking the link that matches your sail date below.

I saw a lady drop an item off her plate which landed on the floor.  She picked it up and replaced it in the buffet dish.  I think she did not violate the 5 second rule.  Then, as you mentioned, she would take items off her plate and   replace those items in the buffet dish with her fingers..

Honestly I would have reported her.

Agree....it is really ridiculous how many people abuse the system for those who are truly in need of help from a trained service animal....I am glad to see the airlines are starting to set more restrictions on these these "fake emotional support animals" and it is interesting you do not really see emotional support animals in Europe because is is basically an American thing because of the ADA.....we have friends who have had their pets certified with the "phony online certificates" just so they can fly their animal for free.  Unbelievable!!

It's such a shame that people abuse the system calling a family pet a service or emotional support animal.

My husband has had Parkinson's Disease for 24 years and does have an emotional support dog.  We are very careful where we take her including flying.  She is trained and very quiet. Neurology and psychologist have supported the need.

    Not all are fake

  6. Can anyone tell me if the Celebrity trip insurance covers air, pre-post hotel stays?

Sis and I are cruising and would like to stay in Fort Lauderdale a few days before embarkation.

We took out Celebrity insurance at the time of booking for cancel for any reason and piece of mind.   So many hotels these days will give you a price break if you book a non-refundable room.  We are hesitant to do this as we have some family members with fragile health.  We would also like to skip the airline insurance if not needed.

Anyone know if airline and pre-cruise stays are covered under the Celebrity policy?

    Thanks all and happy cruising!

  7. Sis and I cruised in January with very few children aboard.  There was a small child around 1 year old who was very tolerant of dinner.  Just as soon as he started to squack the parents would immediately remove him an come back after they satisfied his issue.  Not a problem at all.

I do prefer cruising with few children, however, anytime there have been kids on past cruises they have been well behaved and darling.

It all starts with the parents, setting expectations for those that understand and taking responsibility for your kids.  I think Celebrity passengers submit to this.

  8. Celebrity simply is not maintaining their millennium class ships to the standard they should be. We were on Summit last Summer and the upholstery in the lounges and bars was absolutely filthy. I was even shocked at condition of some of the upholstery on the Eclipse this summer. They need to pay attention to these kinds of details and clean the fabrics and drapes etc. Disgusting at times.

    I couldn't agree more.

The chairs smell like farts and I am not kidding.:o

  9. I too have organized and participated in many private tours. As most of you have stated, the majority are wonderful experiences with really decent, fun people.

What came to mind for me was a couple who joined one of my arranged tours in France. The woman practically ran to the van at each stop to get the best seat because "me so little and I can't see". One of the clinchers was the fact that she wore this big floppy hat and no one could see around her. So selfish.

I had arranged a tour of Florence and it was hot as a pistol that day. A robust woman hops in the van and clearly states she cannot tolerate air conditioning at all as it "messes up my sinuses". We did not oblige her.

Just one more :). On a tour in England. Since I was a solo I was offered the seat next to the driver.

After waiting for a couple on the pier for upwards of 30 minutes they come rolling in and he has the nerve to hop in the front seat. Mind you it was a bucket seat. That was crazy. I got out and sat with his wife. What a jerk.

    Hope he sees this:)

  10. While we're at it.

I am sickend by the number of people getting into the hot tubs and pools with open sores. A fellow on our last cruise clearly had bilateral leg cellulitis with

open, weeping sores (hate to be so graphic) get in the hot tubs and pools everyday. Fellow cruisers would see him come and high tale it out.

I have no idea how this could possibly be addressed.

I feel bad about their condition and hope some will see this post and think twice about using the pools in the future. Should the pools be contaminated with poo, their condition could crash in a hurry.
