@Laszlo..thanks for the suggestions.  Not a "kayaker", per se.  But, a private island tour might be on the agenda. Any suggestions for the private tour?  Anyone you recommend?

Will be following your trip, too!

Carol-Lynn Smith does an amazing Bermuda island tour.  You can find her on FB and communicate with her on F B through messenger.  She came highly recommended from "Bermuda Bound" group and I used her in October 2022.  She is a retired policewoman, super-friendly and knowledgable.  She has a couple people who work with her also.  I highly recommend seeing if she is available while you are there.

  2. I am booked on this sailing with no kids in tow! Just myself and my sister-in-law for a quick getaway.  There is an active group on the "platform that shall not be named" with FE, magnet and ornament exchanges being organized.  October is a roll of the dice for how the weather will be to Bermuda.  I have sailed amazingly smooth seas, and been tossed around in the cool wind.  The reduced prices entice me.

  3. This is one big reason I upgraded to the Brilliant Suite. There is a separate bed, located a good distance away from master bed. The only problem with that cabin is the big, chest-level window in the shower that looks directly at the main room.  I will be bringing some sort of curtain setup to take care of that!

This is completely wrong, you have always been abvle to cancel prior to final payment and the website says final payment is due 90 days out. OP is entitled to a full refund, not a FCC and should not have to wait until Tuesday. If that is NCL's new policy they are going to spend a lot of time and money in litigation and lose.

For a cruise of 5 days or less, it is 90 days. 7 day cruises booked after December 18, 2017 require full payment at 120 days and cancellation schedule applies after that. Look at the site. https://www.ncl.com/about/payment-schedule  Why would I make it up?

No the cruise starts on sail away time so 10am on march 6th is 55 hours

Incorrect. From NCL’s page on their policy, it states:  Peace of Mind is the company’s new temporary policy that allows new and existing individual and group bookings embarking from March 10, 2020 through and including September 30, 2020 to cancel their booking up until 48 hours from the START OF THEIR VACATION DATE and receive a 100% future cruise credit (FCC). The FCC may be used for sailings that embark on or before December 31, 2022. The new booking must be made within one year of the cancellation date.

48 hours before the start of the vacation date, so 00:00:01(or 12:00:01 am)  on departure day is the 48 hour cutoff.

So let me get this straight.   When the OP booked her cruise she was told that she could cancel up until 90 days out and get a full refund.  NOW they are saying that even at 93 days out ALL SHE CAN GET IS A CREDIT for a future cruise.   (And THAT must be used before Dec 2020)

Please SOMEONE tell me that this is legal in any way?

Most likely, when the OP booked, unless she booked this cruise in the last week, the cancel without penalty ended at 120 days.  An exception was made last week changing it to 90 days.  That exception went away with the most recent change that offers the future cruise credit option. Still allowing OP to cancel, just not for a full refund, and they aren't processing these until Tuesday. It is a very fluid situation.

After waiting on the phone for over an hour (understandably, given the circumstances), I was told there is nothing that can be done for my March 8th sailing. For those of you who are applauding NCL for "stepping up" with their March 10th FCC policy, how about stop and think how you would feel if you were one of the thousands of us who leave before then. I have one of two options, lose thousands of dollars, or option #2 take the risk and go on the cruise anyway. Hey NCL, is my family less important than the one that sets sail 48 hours after me? Or are those of us sailing on March 8th somehow magically immune to the coronavirus? The entire industry is actually doing the right thing except for Norwegian. I'm sure I'm not the only one who will never sail with them again if they don't do the right thing here. NCL has done a lot of nickel and diming in the past few years that has left a bad taste in our mouths, but this is really stooping to a whole new level. With the imminent battle facing the cruise industry, can they really afford to alienate loyal customers.

For your March 8th sailing, you would have been less than 48 hours before departure day when this policy was announced on March 6th, so it wouldn't have applied to your cruise anyway.

WOW!!! So many things and people to take care of, in such a small amount of time. Thank you for the information, I now understand why they want you out. We will definitely be out early! I do not want to be one of those people.

On a side note, with the complimentary bottles of alcohol...if we do not finish these, are we allowed to pack them and bring them home?

On a past cruise we took our bottles with leftovers with us, but we were only driving home.  We carried them off in our carry-on bags.

Resurrecting this thread to share that I just purchased the Tranquility mattress after my May Escape cruise.  I always hate my mattress when I get home from a cruise LOL (I have a waaay-overpriced Sleep Number glorified-air-mattress bed.)

Can't wait for my new mattress to arrive!  Any other Tranquility reviews out there?  (I will follow up with one once I have mine 😁)

    Thanks!

Any follow up on yours?  Considering taking the plunge after a couple of years on the fence.  Thanks!

  10. Glad you are enjoying yourself! Any chance you could grab a photo of the kids/teens activity Patter please? If you don't have kids, the schedule may be posted by the kids' facilities. I am traveling with 12 & 14 year old boys in July and we are wondering what the activities will be like. Thanks!!
