There are quite a few threads on this. I think it all depends on what you feel is the value. It seems many purchase it when its only a $5 or $10 price difference from the surf and stream. Harmony is an Oasis ship so getting special reserved seating is a perk after you make reservations. By boarding first with Key people, you are able to make your specialty restaurants quicker too. The abbreviated Chops lunch in the dining room is nice, but again, what is the overall price of the Key. Some may feel it's worth paying for while others simply don't.
For me, I am going to see if the price comes down. Right now, it's $34.99 a day. It's not worth it. Also, if I do online check in and get an early time, I don't think the Key will be worth it either. You can also do self check out if you wish to disembark earlier too.
How do you get an early time for check in without the Key?

I'm not sure I understand your question.
When you say "VIP access", are you referring to "sitting in the special section of the theater" for shows? You just make reservations for whatever shows you want to go to when you get on the ship. Set up the app on your phone before you go and get logged in, then as soon as you board and connect to the ship's network, you can scroll through the whole week's entertainment and make your reservations. When you get to the show, you can go sit in the "special section" if you want to (it's not necessarily the most desired part of the venue). FYI, they open up the "special section" to the general public around 10 minutes before the show starts, so don't leave your arrival to the venue to the last minute.
When you say "connect to the ship's network" do you mean with an internet package? Like, if you do not pay for the internet package, can you still connect and use the ship's network?

If you have more than one person in your cabin, make sure you compare the total price of The Key for all of you to the price of a multi-device Voom package. On our last cruise (just two of us), I bought a Voom 2-device package for $31. The Key was $25pp, so that's almost $19/day more ($133 for the 7-day cruise). That's what you need to do to decide if the price is worth it. Just seeing it as $5 or $10 more than Voom is not a valid comparison.
We don't need internet really. We were looking at it to get better seating at shows and early embarkment.

IMO...not worth it if all your ports dock at a pier....
Ok, pretty sure we dock at a pier with St Thomas and St Maarten.

It's 45 days out...through the app or online through your RC account. The earlier the better...literally after midnight on day 45, it should open for you.
Wow...good to know. I will be awake at midnight!

Thank you for the info.
About the online check in and early time...when do we we sign up for our on board check in? Is it after we do our on line check in in March?

We are sailing on the Harmony in May. Can anyone share if they have used the Key and if it is necessary or worth the money?

@FionaMG shared this thread with our roll call. A year ago when we booked another San Juan port cruise I decided to do as you are doing and look around for a walking tour. But I didn’t find options that I thought were ideal for us (for example I didn’t need to see both forts set a long distance from one another) and we wanted to mix in some shopping areas and some amazing food finds that I had run across in my research. It seemed to take forever to compile it and lay it out, but I finally pulled together a tour with all we wanted via google maps (I called it the “three amigos take San Juan” 😂). I don’t know that it would fit your needs, but I am happy to share it. Have a great time!
We will be in San Juan in February. Could you possibly email me this 'Three Amigos take San Juan'? lol

Thank you so much!

Can someone provide the link to the board that has Port of Call and excursion advice?
Thanks!
-
Technically prohibited, but usually allowed.
Bob, do we put it in our carryon luggage?
Thanks, Kari

Check out the Ports of Call forum. Lots of suggestions there. :)
Thank you! I knew there was a different place for excursion type questions but could not find it.

My husband and I love Nachi Cocom.
Is this an all inclusive type deal?

Any suggestions for things to do in Cozumel without booking an excursion through RCL?
Thanks in advance!

It was the first time we had seen it. We have been on Brilliance, Serenade, Mariner, Majesty and these singers were all so much more talented than we have seen on RCL.

We just got off Freedom today and I just have to say that the entertainment all week was superb! Last night, was opening night for their new show, Once Upon a Time. It was crazy good! The singers and dancers and orchestra are top notch! If you go on Freedom, it is not to be missed.

Neither!
Megans is a tourist trap probably because it was voted best 10 beaches in the world. That was years ago. Now it is too crowded
Sapphire? Been there twice and never caught on to liking it
Here is where we go
How about a nice (usually quiet) stretch of beach with facilities, chairs for rent, food and bar?
Emerald!
Faster to get to also
Also where the ship's crew (singers and dancers) often go to relax
This sounds like us! How far is it and can we get a cab there?

December of 2014 we arrived in St. Thomas late and went to Sapphire. It was beautiful as always, but about an hour after we got there (lots of traffic and long taxi ride), they were starting to put chairs away and it was close to the time the beach would be closing. We walked around some and snorkeled. Got a good 2 hours there though and the beach and its surroundings are beautiful!! :D
As a side note - The early closing had to be because the sun was setting so early due to the time of year. It was completely dark when we got back to the pier for shopping but the Christmas lights were beautiful lol. :p
So is Magan's Bay a quicker taxi?

Hello-we will be arriving at St Thomas in the afternoon and I was wondering which beach would be better--Megan or Sapphire?
Thanks!

Ok, it must no be available yet. Thanks so much!

When you booked your cruise you should have been assigned a Dining time....
Early
Late
My Time
Do you see that on your reservation ??
Well we booked while on board in March and they said we could not book a time yet. It was too early. We want to do Mtd but I have book our entertainment so I really would like to book our Mtd reservation now too. Is that allowed and where do I go?
Thanks!

Hello, we are going to be on Allure in February and are so excited!! My question is about dining. We do not plan on eating at any of the restaurants that cost extra so do we book in advance our times for dining in the complementary dining room?
Thanks in advance,

We have booked Brilliance for March of this year, and since it is a last minute booking, we had to use MTD. I am nervous because I have never done MTD before. I have always used Traditional dining because I love getting the same waiter. My question is: How does it work? When we board do we go somewhere and reserve a table? or what? EEK Help!!

Thank you. And for the Harmony, do you have to book your shows before you board?
