Costa's LNG ship is similar in size to Carnival's (183GT v 180GT reported). Here's pics from the first steel cutting and digital rendering of the ship:

note the bathroom door location in the cabin renders. talk about light coming into the room when people are asleep at night and someone uses the lav.
It looks like the cabins are going to be the design like Royal Caribbean and NCL use where the cabins are every other with the bed and couch switching. The cabins in these designs are a little narrower.

Cruise mapper has updated deck plans, it shows alchemy bar.
Unfortunately those deck plans don't look too accurate to me. Deck 12 says Paradise atrium and the casino bar is incorrectly named the Dream Bar, which is the name of the Imagination's bar. It looks like they have cut and pasted multiple different ships' deck plans together.

I put the full resolution version at https://www.dropbox.com/s/dbsk1xf60nuvmwg/IMG_4649.JPG?dl=0 just click on download in the upper right. 5184 x 3456
Thanks! Can't wait to see what she looks like finished. I wonder how many cabins they are adding to the forward section?

Or what if the Fascination takes over the Elation's cruises for a week or two so the Elation's dry dock can be fully completed?
Looks like that is what's happening.

I do not believe that the Elation will get balcony cabins....they would announce that and add it on the future cruises so they can sell them, there is no word about them, cruises will be soon happening on the Elation right after her dry dock and there is no way 1- they will give a free balcony cruise to those who paid for Oceanview and 2- if they did add balconies where are those that booked Oceanview going to go and 3- how will they sell balcony cabins when the cruises are about to happen. In the past, as with the Fascination they announced that balconies will be added and added them to their web site so they can be sold out. Sorry, balconies aren't going to happen unless Carnival is planning on giving everybody who booked Oceanview cabins there free balconies....nope not going to happen.
They actually were selling balcony cabins on future Elation cruises, they just recently took them off.
The Elation is definitely still getting balconies. This photo was posted today.

I know Elation had to depart dry dock during Irma for safety, but is the current dry dock not scheduled to complete on time? Is the Freeport yard able to accommodate extended time in dry Dock?
It really will depend if fed govt requests use of the ship for PR
Not sure, but I know they lost a week or so due to Irma. Also looking at pictures on Instagram, there is still a lot of work to be done for her to be ready next week. If they get everything finished under the water line, they could just wet dock her to finish up the rest of the work.

I really strongly stand by my post from last night; ship will end up chartered as housing

Here's a picture of the WaterWorks park.

Here's a new picture. You can see WaterWorks and balconies.
-
It looks like the balcony addition work is still being completed!
-
It looks like may have decided to cancel putting balconies on the Elation. You no longer have the option of booking a balcony cabin.
-
Here's some info from John Heald.
-
It looks like they are taking the Elation back out to sea. I wonder how that will affect the completion of her dry dock?

I'm even more curious about the changes they are making now. I hope they post the updated deck plans soon or at least announce the changes they are making.

Here is a video I found about the Carnival Pinnacle Project as well as an interview with Joe Farcus about it.

The new cruises aren't posted to the website yet. I'm curious to see how many 6/8 day cruises they are adding. Hopefully its not just a one off and they are actually adding some variety to the sailings out of Galveston.

Here is a post showing 15, 30, and 45 degree lists.

I'm not sure if it would work too well. 15 minutes isn't a lot of time between both excursions and if for some reason you see a delay with the first excursion, you would end up missing the second one.

The Seaside Theater is currently available on 14 out of the 24 ships in the fleet. The Horizon will be 15. Don't think that the Theater has ever been added to a ship during dry dock.
The Seaside theater has been added to many ships during dry dock. However, they have never added one to a Fantasy class ship.
-
I'm curious to find out what else they're adding to the Elation!
-
Looks like they added 16 more cabins to Havana . That's 32 more people. Not a huge amount, but still not a fan of the idea.
It looks like they also added 2 more interior rooms on deck 6.
-
FYI... updated deck plans are on the Carnival website.
-
I know that.
But they also sail from USA to Australia, so why no destination.
Are you referring to the cruise the Legend makes? Honolulu to Sydney and Sydney to Honolulu? That cruise is sold on the Australian site as well.
-
No, they had more passengers. Since they have mostly 3 and 4 day cruises, in one week a ship with a 3 and a 4 day cruise will have twice as many passengers than a ship with a 7 day cruise.
And since Carnival has 4 ships departing from Long Beach their passenger count is very high.
There are only 3 ships leaving from Long Beach. The Imagination, Inspiration, and Miracle. When the Miracle leaves Long Beach, the Splendor will replace her.

So it looks like the Triumph is getting a 2 month drydock.
Seems like its going to be a Sunshine type makeover.
